Picc. 5 Fl. Afl. Bfl. (Cbfl) - Intermediate-Advanced - SKU: F2.FM532 Composed by Tony Bridgewater. Flute Ensemble. Score and Parts. 138 pages. Forton Music - Digital #FM532. Published by Forton Music - Digital (F2.FM532). ISBN 9790570484317.Tony Bridgewater's 'Sonata for Flutes' was written in 2014-2015 for the UK based National Flute Orchestra, founded by Margaret Lowe in 2008, and was performed in Birmingham, England, conducted by the composer. It is in three movements. The first is based around lively, dancing 7/8 rhythms, with playful changes in metre, and ideas thrown between the instruments in a busy texture. There is a slow, reflective middle section, much more serious in tone, featuring various flute solos. This gradually returns to the opening ideas of the movement in an abbreviated reprise, before the music ends, fading away into the distance, on the dancing rhythm of the opening. The second movement is slow, and suggests a misty dawn landscape with its spare, calm texture. This is followed by a series of lonely solo flute melodies which gradually combine and build up into a rich, imitative texture. Tension and dissonance builds, but at the climax a solemn, low melody on bass and alto flute returns the music to a reprise of the first section, which ends very quietly and mysteriously. The rousing final movement returns to the joyful dancing rhythms of the first, now based around 10/8 time. It is a rondo, with many playful variations of the returning theme shared between all of the flutes at each appearance, while contrasting episodes are a little more relaxed and lyrical. A final coda briefly reprises motifs from earlier in the piece, before building to an exciting conclusion.

Flute,Horn,Piano,Violin - Level 3 - SKU: A0.1257964 Composed by JohnWillard Utuk. Chamber,Contemporary,Film/TV,New Age,Video Game. 23 pages. JohnWillard Utuk #851201. Published by JohnWillard Utuk (A0.1257964). The High Priestess is a chamber work for mixed instrumentation, including an F Horn with piano, violin, and flute. This piece is inspired by the artwork of the traditional Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck, specifically the less credited illustrator of the world famous deck, Pamela Colman Smith. The music represents the symbolism and feeling behind the High Priestess card, with keywords of strength, adaptability, seriousness, intuition, loving understanding, knowledge, introspection, and self-trust. Each instrument is featured throughout, as the main melody and distinct rhythms are traded and dovetailed around the ensemble. The piece begins with a feeling of watery calm (e.g. Venetian Boat songs), ascends to a hopeful journey, moves through tense trials, then returning back to the distant flute melody, followed by a piano “solo†that ultimately inspired this chamber work in the first place. This work is great for high school, collegiate, amateur, or professional ensembles, as well as very advanced young chamber players looking for something new and fresh. Rhythms are simple, while expression and musicality can be explored. In performance, be mindful of balance issues, so seating arrangement can be adjusted. I recommend the horn player be seated on the outside, so as not to cover up the flute. Average performance time: ca. 4:30Other instrumentations are in progress, so please check back for updated editions. The original instrumentation involved the oboe and cello. There is also another version with trombone substituting the F horn. Please leave a review here below and reach out via my website listed in the score for any feedback or questions. Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio Bassoon,English Horn,Flute - Level 3 - SKU: A0.796880 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Stephanie Daige. Concert,Standards,Wedding. 15 pages. Stephanie Daige #3508465. Published by Stephanie Daige (A0.796880). The Trio in C Major, Op. 87 for Two Oboes and English horn is one of Beethoven’s greatest pieces of chamber music for wind instruments. Experienced oboists are sure to be familiar with this work, and likely have studied it and performed it many times. Beethoven wrote so beautifully and brilliantly for woodwinds, and I wish he had written more chamber music for winds! Audiences always love to hear this piece performed, and I never tire of performing or teaching it. Now, with my transcription for oboe, English horn, and bassoon, you can invite a flutist and a bassoonist friend to join in the fun! This Adagio cantabile movement (the second of four movements) is beautiful, soulful, and melodious. It is enjoyable to play and to listen to, suitable for advanced students or professionals. Students will learn so much about phrasing, articulation, dynamics, balance, and expression from studying this piece; and the level of musicality in this work is suitable for a professional performance. It would work well in a chamber music recital or student recital, and is a good length and seriousness for church offertory music. Duration is approximately 4.5 minutes. Thank you for considering purchasing my arrangement! I hope you will enjoy playing it as much as I have enjoyed arranging it. Please check out my other arrangements on Sheet Music Plus. .

Alto Flute,Instrumental Solo,Piano - Level 3 - SKU: A0.1118298 Composed by Scott Joplin. Arranged by David McKeown. 20th Century,Jazz,Ragtime. Score and individual part. 33 pages. David McKeown #719817. Published by David McKeown (A0.1118298). Scott Joplin is celebrated as the United States’ first well-known black composer, making his name as a writer of piano rags. His life was a constant struggle with adversity, and Joplin died relatively young in 1917, at the dawn of the recording age. Few remembered Joplin’s music until a revival in the 1970s brought The Entertainer and others to the world’s attention. Nowadays Scott Joplin has taken his rightful place in the gallery of great American composers. The Rags included in this collection are, The Entertainer, The Maple Leaf Rag, The Easy Winners, The Elite Syncopations and The Favorite. They have been arranged as solos for one Alto Flute with piano accompaniment, and include all sections of the original compositions. You will download one pdf file that contains both 22 pages of piano score and the 10 page solo part. These pieces are suitable for players at an intermediate and advanced intermediate level. Musicians will find these Ragtime solos ideal for formal and informal performances, light and fun, yet still a serious and vitally important part of the American musical heritage. The overall performance time for all five is around 25 minutes. Teachers will enjoy using these arrangements as a fun way to help with phrasing, syncopated rhythms and light articulation. Click on the YouTube link to see and hear samples from the collection. Bass Flute,Instrumental Solo,Piano - Level 3 - SKU: A0.549777 Composed by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Children,Christmas,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and individual part. 11 pages. Jmsgu3 #3535033. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549777). Duration: ca 1:00 Score: 5 pages, Solo part: 2 pages, piano part: 3 pages. Short but fascinating Chinese Dance from the Nutcracker Suite. Program this for a recital encore or Christmas pageant. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky Tchaikovsky is probably the most popular of the great composers in America. His music certainly appeals to musicians. Likewise, it appeals even to folks who don’t normally listen to serious music. This is probably because of his most noteworthy melodies. Above all, he writes with great emotion. This certainly makes a most noteworthy if not an unforgettable impact. Education First of all, He attended classes at the Russian Musical Society. Even more, He also attended the St. Petersburg Conservatory. There he studied music theory with Nikolai Zaremba. He also consequently studied composition with Anton Rubenstein. It seems like Rubenstein came under criticism from a group of Russian composers known as the Five. The Five The Five certainly rejected Western musical influences. They rather sought to use elements from Russian music. They furthermore wanted to use more exotic musical materials. Western Techniques More than other Russian composers, Tchaikovsky studied modern Western music. He certainly develops his music like the European masters. So, rather than repeating a motive, he moves to a new key. He then introduces a different theme in the new key. Hence, he maintained his independence from the Five. Even more, he became the first Russian composer of international stature. Influences Tchaikovsky was probably influenced in his ballet scoring by Léo Delibes. Richard Wagner influenced his symphonic writing. Tchaikovsky’s most famous works include the 1812 Overture, The Nutcracker Suite, and Swan Lake. Also famous are the Violin Concerto in D and the six symphonies. The greatest of the six symphonies may be No. 6, the Pathétique. Nutcracker Suite, Op. 71a The Nutcracker Suite is a ballet that was performed for the first time in December 1892 in St. Petersburg. To begin with, the original ballet failed to attract a positive reception. However, the ballet suite became probably one of the most popular of all of Tchaikovsky’s works. The ballet suite became even more famous in the 1960s. It is now performed all over the world, particularly during the Christmas season.

Instrumental Duet Bass Flute,Instrumental Duet - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1076731 Composed by Max Reger. Arranged by Phil Beaman. 20th Century,Standards. Score and parts. 11 pages. Phil Beaman #680823. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.1076731). The Praeludium from Suite No 3 in A minor is originally for unaccompanied Cello solo by Max Reger (1873-1916, written 1914). For this unaccompanied duet arrangement the melody was creatively deconstructed into two parts that continuously interact as if each instrument is finishing the other's thoughts. The harmonies are inspired by the original double stops. The arrangement remains stylistically faithful to Reger's use of constantly shifting dynamics and ever-present expression marks. This 4 1/2 minute work is a worthy challenge for a serious concert or recital. A new approach to this Masterwork of the repertoire. A live performance will be considerably freer and more expressive than the temporary MIDI recording attached. Range - same note range for both parts which is a wide 2 1/2 octaves. 5 page score, 3 pages each part.

Tchaikovsky paints a very mysterious mood in this favorite masterpiece from the Nutcracker Suite. It is also a traditional Christmas favorite. Instrumental Duet Alto Flute,Instrumental Duet - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1076729 Composed by Max Reger. Arranged by Phil Beaman. 20th Century,Standards. Score and parts. 11 pages. Phil Beaman #680820. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.1076729).

Steinberg & T. Kelly, & this song was nominated 2 times for a Grammy , recorded by Cyndi Lauper. Also performed by Phil Collins, and Eva Cassidy and many more. This arrangement is part of the Compositions that Care which means all money raised goes directly to charity, in this case LGBTQ+ community, such as housing for youth whom may be thrown out of their housing or had to run away, for hate crime victims/ survivors, shelter, medical treatment and supplies and any other need . This arrangement is very special and personal for me, because I am a Hate Crime victim /survivor as well. Even in today's society , where about 20% or less of Hate Crime Victims even report attacks or even serious physical harm. The laws have been changing slowly in the last 10 years , taking away penalties and sentencing from this heinous crimes. Legislators and law makers have diminishing what defines hate crimes, if hate crimes deserve additional sentencing, taking away laws that would ensure and help to protect this minority population most vulnerable to being victims. And not just in the USA, but around the world LGBTQ+ persons , are being attacked , imprisoned, and even murdered everyday . IIn the USA, Even where as victims like myself are seriously harmed , and in the hospital , requiring surgery, permanently maimed , broken bones, etc. most criminal perpetrators get minimal sentencing , even probation . And as in my case, these criminals had have multiple other serious convictions of physical harm to others and even serious gun charges. Please make your voice heard, help protect yourself, or your family, friends, and loved ones by contacting law makers local and federal to let them know this is not ok, and laws need to be changed to protect every person . Thank you for watching. To purchase this charitable composition, please Visit: SheetMusicPlus.com , also check out my website @ doRaymeflute.com.

Picc. 4Fl. Afl. Bfl. (Cafl)Cbfl. (SCBfl). (Dble CBFl) - Intermediate-Advanced - SKU: F2.FM553 Composed by Franz Joseph Haydn. Arranged by Robert Rainford. Flute Ensemble - Piccolo, 4Flutes, Alto Flute, Bass Flute, Optional Contr'Alto, Contrabass, Obtional Sub and Double Contras. Score and parts. 221 pages. Forton Music - Digital #FM553. Published by Forton Music - Digital (F2.FM553). ISBN 9790570484522.This is an arrangement of the last symphony that Haydn wrote. It was composed and premiered in London in 1795, and was an instant success. Following the standard four movement pattern of the time, it starts with a slow, serious introduction before the lighter, fast first movement begins properly. Using just one main theme, Haydn spins a delightful series of moods and emotions before rushing to the exciting conclusion. The second movement is more measured and controlled, but with episodes of drama and tension. The third movement is a traditional minuet and trio, with the lightness and humour of Haydn. The last movement has elements of folk music, with it's opening low drone and peasant like melody. Haydn however alternates the romping first section ideas with a more sophisticated, legato second section. This creates a delicious balance and has to make for one of the most satisfying symphonies ever written. This arrangement has been created with a range of playing standards in mind. The first and last movements use the full resources of the flute choir right down to the lowest double contrabass in C. The rarer flutes have optional parts so can be safely omitted, but add great depth to the sound. Flute 1 is quite complicated and involved, but then the parts get easier until flute 4 is fairly basic and could be easily realised by players with less experience. The second and third movements have been thinned down, with piccolo, G treble, contr'alto, subcontrabass in G and double contrabass in C being tacet. Also in these movements, flute 1 and 2 take the same line, while flute 3 and 4 are similarly in unison, with an optional contrabass part. These movements may be taken by four or five solo players, or some sections could be solos and others played by the full ensemble, or many other options.

Published by ACORDO Sheet Music (A0.1422054). Johann Sebastian Bach composed the cantata Ich hatte viel Bekümmernis BWV 21 during the Weimar period. Craig Smith of Emmanuel Music suggested that this work was not only written to accompany the readings for the third Sunday after Trinity, but also to bid farewell to the gravely ill Prince Johann Ernst of Sachsen-Weimar, one of Bach's talented students. However, at the time, Prince Johann was seriously ill and was on his way to Swabia for recovery. The first movement, Sinfonia, is a deeply sorrowful piece, characterized by a rich dialogue between the oboe and violin. Julian Mincham of The Cantatas of Johann Sebastian Bach described it is a continuous discourse between oboe and first violin, quite possibly suggestive of the dialogue structure (Christ and the Soul) to be found in later movements, however, it sounds like a dialogue between the Prince and Bach for me.The string ensemble part was transcribed for piano to make it easier to play. The solo parts are originally for oboe and violin, but in this arrangement, they are for oboe and flute.  The bassoon (or cello) part is the same as the piano's left hand and is optional.

Woodwind Ensemble Flute - Level 4 - SKU: A0.986935 Composed by John Holland. Contemporary. 45 pages. John Holland #4738615. Published by John Holland (A0.986935). Dibble-Dobble is a lively little piece, about 4 minutes long, for flute choir (3 piccolos, 4 flutes and 1 alto flute) - originally composed for the Opal Flutes Flute Choir, based in south London, UK. Could work as a concert opener or closer, but the ability to keep your own line is essential, as there is lots of independent rhythm to be aware of. The title 'Dibble-Dobble' doesn't really mean anything deep, it's just an appropriate light and fluffy name for a not-very-serious piece, but it does have a certain edge to it.

Woodwind Ensemble Flute - Level 2 - SKU: A0.877914 Composed by Roy C. Bennett and Sid Tepper. Arranged by Rebecca Bogardus. Contemporary. 18 pages. Lillwy Publishing #3685267. Published by Lillwy Publishing (A0.877914). A novelty piece perfect for your youth flute choir or as an encore for your holiday performance! After a traditional upbeat iteration of the tune, bring out a large Naughty sign to get your audience chuckling before launching into a minor section underpinned by nothing less than the Dies irae in the alto and bass line. (Christmas presents are serious!) Just before the final chorus, flip the sign to Nice as the upbeat version returns, this time with a jubilant piccolo descant. Arranged for piccolo, four C flutes, alto flute, and bass flute, with an optional Beginning Flute part. The beginning flute part - a unique feature in the flute choir repertoire - will allow even first-year players to perform with your choir, where they will learn phrasing by mimicking more experienced flutists. It includes fingering and accidental reminders as well as tips to help establish good habits for your beginners. A community flute choir could easily learn this in a couple of rehearsals, and there are so many opportunities for fun dramatic additions! Key of C. Please view the rest of my arrangements at www.studiobogardus.com/arrangements.html and share your performance video with me. 2018 Holiday Contest Entry.
