This arrangement for trombone quintet, with optional rhythm section, has an up-tempo beat. A solo section with chords and notated solos are included in each of the trombone parts to encourage solos. The first part requires a player with a confident c2, but all the other parts are accessible to good high school players. For variety, an optional rubato intro is suggested, which can be used in place of the up-tempo start. Originally published in 1935, this song was sung in the movie I by Frances Langford. She used this song to great affect while on tour with Bob Hope to entertain the troops in WW II. Many artists have had hits with this song, among them Louis Armstrong, Barbara Streisand, and Rod Stewart. Jimmy McHugh and Dorothy Fields collaborated on over 30 songs, including On The Sunny Side Of The Street and I Can't Give You Anything But Love. The arranger, Bob Coil, is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of music, where he studied bass trombone with Betty Glover. Dr. Coil is the leader of the Bones of Cincinnatus trombone ensemble in Cincinnati, OH.

Arranged in the New York Voices style, this chart was debuted by Darmon's college level ensemble at the 2024 New York Voices Western Michigan Vocal Jazz Camp. This is a relatively challenging arrangement designed for an advanced high school or college group. There are a few shorter lyric solos, and plenty of room for vocal or instrumental improvisation. This chart is a bit challenging, but worth the effort. The tenors and basses have a LOT of 3rds/7ths relationships, so many tri-tones to be sung. Modest Mussorgsky (1839-1881) composed his Pictures at an Exhibition -- A Remembrance of Viktor Hartmann in 1874 as a suite of ten pieces (with a recurring Promenade) for piano, representing paintings by Hartmann. The Bydlo section depicted cattle or oxen slowly pulling a cart with enormous wheels. Maurice Ravel orchestrated this section with the high solo given to the French tuba in C (pitched a whole step above the Bb euphonium). The present arrangement gives the melody to the euphoniums, and changes the key from the ungainly G# minor (five sharps) to Bb minor (5 flats). The tempo is very slow, with an eighth-note at 90, at which speed the piece takes about 3 minutes to play. The highest pitches are a high Bb for Euphoniums 1 and 2, and the Bb a step under middle C for Tuba 1. Good high school players should be able to handle this level, which is intermediate (perhaps advanced intermediate). This piece should be a crowd-pleaser, since it showcases the low-brass instruments rarely given solos. Also, it is a piece that welcomes extra players for both euphoniums and tubas. Parts for both treble- and bass-clef euphoniums are provided.

Four Stars On The Horizon  is a percussion quartet that is ideal for middle school, junior high school groups, and also fun for high school groups. It is written for snare drum, bass drum, 4 concert toms and tambourine. The snare drum and concert toms parts allow more experienced players to shine while the bass drum and tambourine use only quarter and eighth notes so less experienced players can join in on the fun. The piece begins in full force with the whole group and then settles into a nice groove. The piece builds to a climax, then a snare roll leads into a faster rhythm on the concert toms. After some ups and downs, and some call and response sections, the piece builds to the end. Throughout the piece, each player gets a chance to shine in short  solos.
