Alto saxophone (in Eb) and piano - intermediate - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q40783 Composed by Scott Joplin. Arranged by Wolfgang Birtel. This edition: Sheet music. Downloadable. Schott Music - Digital #Q40783. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q40783). Who would have thought that ragtime would enjoy another renaissance! But more than 50 years after the death of its main representative, Scott Joplin, the film 'The Sting' has made this once popular style well-known and fashionable again. This small selection of Joplin rags is of course not complete without 'The Entertainer'. In comparison, 'Easy Winners' and 'Rag-Time Dance' are no less fun to play, particularly since in the latter the performer not only has to play but also stomp his foot. Excellent music providing entertainment for many occasions!

Woodwind choir - Digital Download SKU: IZ.CMS181 Composed by Judith Katz. Score and Parts. 48 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #CMS181. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.CMS181). 9 x 12 in inches. With tremors that started in May of 1883, the volcano on the Indonesian island of Krakatoa fully erupted on August 26th of that same year. The eruption continued until the late morning of August 27th, destroying over 70% of the island, the surrounding archipelago, and collapsed into a caldera. This event is counted as one of the deadliest and most destructive events in recorded history. Over 36,000 deaths were the result of both the eruption and the tsunamis that were created. Weeks later, the eruptions on Krakatoa intensified, causing explosions on neighboring islands. Globally, these explosions had effects on Australia and as far away as South Africa. The 1883 Krakatoa eruption also darkened the sky worldwide for years afterwards, caused by volcanic ash. Spectacular sunsets were created and they inspired artists to capture the effects. British artist William Ashcroft made numerous color sketches, attempting to capture the look of the red-tinged skies, and there is a theory that Edvard Munch's blood-red sky depicted in the painting, The Scream, was inspired from his observing the color of the sky over Norway at the time.Of all the original compositions and arrangements that I have written, this is my first foray into program music. Program music can be a difficult genre; has the story really been conveyed? Does the orchestration fit the composition? Is it too short, or rather, way too long.I decided to write this for woodwind choir, rather than woodwind quintet. The sound of a woodwind choir offers enough variety of sound to convey both the frenetic quality of panic, fear, and desperation of a volcanic eruption, and yet the calm, sadness of how people felt, not knowing when things were going to erupt again.

Guitar Ensemble - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1453659 By Joseph Davila. By Joseph Davila. Christmas,Classical,Contemporary,Holiday,Multicultural,World. Score and Parts. 17 pages. JaGlo Music #1032873. Published by JaGlo Music (A0.1453659). This is a guitar quartet Christmas piece that I wrote earlier this year. It is for advanced players and is perfect for Holiday Concerts, Christmas parties or recitals. The theme is based on the legend of the Pukwudgie and is the soundtrack to the story below. © Copyright 2024 JaGlo Music. In the quaint village of Hollybrook, Christmas was a time of joy and togetherness. But this year, a malicious pukwudgie named Bramble planned to spread fear and chaos. On Christmas Eve, as villagers gathered around the grand tree for the annual lighting ceremony, Bramble struck. He made the lights flicker and go out and twisted the ornaments into grotesque shapes. He snuck into homes, swapping sugar for ashes and hiding stockings in unreachable places, casting a dark spell over the village. By morning, Hollybrook was in disarray. Children found their stockings missing, cookies ruined, and the tree ominous in the square. Fear gripped the town. Amidst the chaos, a brave girl named Lucy refused to let fear win. She gathered her friends and ventured into the forest, following eerie footprints. They found Bramble muttering dark incantations under a gnarled tree. Caught in a trap made from holly and mistletoe, Bramble hissed his intentions to spread fear. Lucy, with steely resolve, offered him a chance at redemption. Reluctantly, Bramble agreed. They returned to the village, and with Bramble’s help, dispelled the dark enchantments. The ornaments returned to their beautiful forms, sugar replaced the ashes, and the stockings were found. That night, the tree lit up, and Bramble felt warmth in his heart for the first time. The villagers, initially wary, accepted him as he helped create beautiful ice sculptures, adding magic to the festivities. From that year on, Bramble became part of Hollybrook. His dark nature slowly transformed under the light of friendship and acceptance. Every Christmas, his magic brought extra sparkle to the celebrations, reminding everyone that even the darkest hearts could find redemption through kindness and love.

Published by Mr Matthew P Atherton (A0.1014310). Composed for the 2018 Leavers of Pembroke School, Adelaide. I had the privilege of teaching the two fine singers for whom the vocal parts were written, and both of whom became a significant part of the Year 12 dynamic that year. There was also a tinge of sadness following the death of a Leaver from the previous year. This piece was performed at the 2018 Valedictory ceremony.

Euphonium,Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.918891 By Jubal's Lyre Music Productions. By George Elvey. Arranged by Martin Dicke. Christian,Easter,Lent,Religious,Sacred. 14 pages. Jubal's Lyre Music Publishers #6347563. Published by Jubal's Lyre Music Publishers (A0.918891). Here is a flexible arrangement of the hymn God Loved the World So That He Gave (ST CRISPIN) that is based on John 3:16 and can be used in worship during Lent, Easter, or any time of the Church Year. Designed to involve all ages and levels, this arrangement includes parts accessible to beginning musicians, but is also interesting and challenging for intermediate and advanced players. First the melody is provided so that instruments can at any time play the melody alone or together. A standard four-part harmonization (Setting A) and two variations (Settings B and C) follow. Based on the standard harmonization, the variations provide alternate voicings, descants, and counter-melodies that will lift congregational singing. The arrangement can also be played alone. It is part of the series Festive Hymn Arrangements for the Divine Service. The audio sample features Settings A, B, and C. For more music and information, visit www.jubalslyre.com/music.

Advent,Christian,Christmas,Classical,Sacred. 10 pages. CG Publications #918576. Published by CG Publications (A0.1331819). One of the most popular works of the immortal J.S. Bach, from his Cantata 147 (BWV 147), “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring,†is rendered here in a setting for FLUTE (or any acceptable C Instrument), TROMBONE, ORGAN (reduction of Bach’s 2nd Violin and Viola Parts; both 2- and 3-staff scores, whichever the player finds easiest to read, are provided) and S.A.T.B. Choir voices. With an organ reduction that is particularly simple, this arrangement allows for performance by almost any reasonably skilled group of church musicians and singers and may be easily adapted to other suitable C instruments such as Violin or Oboe and Bassoon or Cello. Piece may be performed with as few as seven (7) players/singers, but is enhanced with a larger ensemble and choir. A traditional favorite at Christmas time that is also appropriate any time of the year.

Though appropriate for Pentecost there is no direct connection to the scripture readings or sacramentary prayers for that Feast. The composition was written in the early years succeeding Vatican II (October 11, 1962 – December 8, 1965), a time of creative freedom. The language is period specific to that time, yet the music is universal. We invite you to browse other creative works by the School Sisters of St. Francis on our website:  https://www.sssf.org/SSSF/Our-Global-Impact/United-States/Music-Ministry/Catalog-of-Music.htm  Further information about our offerings is available from Dr. Sheri Masiakowski, curator of the Heritage Music Collection, at smasiakowski@sssf.org.

Large Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.569856 Composed by Austin Ralphson. Instructional. Score and parts. 92 pages. Austin Ralphson #4731861. Published by Austin Ralphson (A0.569856). Rhythm: Simple & Compound Time - Perform, Compose, Understand Series. This pack comprises a piece called What Time Is It?, worksheets and questions which relate to the piece. It is all about understanding these two metrics, although it asks many other general musical questions as well.Welcome to the PCU Series for classroom-based groups. This series focuses on learning by doing; there are many accomplished performers within our school classrooms throughout the world, but my years of experience has taught me that many of these students learn to play by rote – literally be learning one note followed by another – without gaining full understanding of how the pieces work musically and theoretically. Indeed, some of them can perform to a high standard using this method, but then really struggle with composition and general musical understanding later in their educational careers.I equate this to learning to speak sentences in a foreign language without fully understanding what those sentences actually mean.So who is this book for?It is for music teachers to use with their students who are learning to create exam-level compositions within a school environment. It is ideal for courses such as the American High School Diploma, GCSE, BTEC, IGCSE, SCS, HKCEE, IB(MYP), SPM, GCEO, CCEF, HKCEE, VSSD, GES or ICSE.It is designed to cater for almost any instrument due to the parts being provided in many different keys and clefs (including tab and bass tab). Drum parts are intentionally not provided as drummers still need to have a good understanding of non-percussive elements such as melody and harmony; I would suggest that they play a keyboard part for the purposes of learning about composition. You can also download backing tracks of all pieces in this series by searching:Classroom Performance educational pack: RHYTHM backing tracksThese contain parts 2-5, allowing part 1 to be played live over the top.

Small Ensemble Alto Saxophone,B-Flat Clarinet,B-Flat Trumpet,Flute,Horn,Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1047346 By Blaze Scheuerman. By Blaze Scheuerman. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Jazz,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 43 pages. Blaze Scheuerman #651904. Published by Blaze Scheuerman (A0.1047346). Through The Years is meant to be a reflection back onto one’s childhood. Inspired by my own upbringing, it is a recollection of past events that came and mindsets experienced. It opens up with a loud and active sound to show the start of the journey. The character begins happy and energetic, going head first with no fear. The dotted quarter note theme at measure 11 then shows the young child’s state of mind. While beginning to understand concepts of anxiety and fear, he is still full of vigor and confidence. Then at measure 26, the main character begins his adolescence. Still fresh and happy, he sees the world in a simple way and that it is actively watching out for him. He is enjoying this passive time of leisure until measure 40, where he decides to actively try to seek out something. He gets carried away however, and tries to return back to his roots, seen in measure 59. Unfortunately he finds himself tainted and unable to return to his go-getting former self. He then does something peculiar in measure 77. Instead of being angered or saddened by this fact, he accepts it and takes a step back to rebuild himself, seen in the fugato section. After a long and detailed remapping, he finds himself back at his desired happy self. However at measure 127, he feels himself changing once again. So through active awareness and will, he prevents himself from changing into something he doesn’t want to be and instead stays as his desired self.

String Ensemble Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813724 Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary,Standards,Wedding. Score and parts. 9 pages. Regis Bookshar #6474727. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813724). Jupiter (Andante Maestoso from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets) (Violin Quintet) - Intermediate - Digital Download. This marvelous arrangement of the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gustav Holst's The Planets, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts and recitals but if you are considering using this selection for church services in which a congregation may sing along, I would suggest that you look for the arrangements of either I Vow to Thee, My Country, O God, Beyond All Praising, O Spirit All Embracing or Thaxted, also by Regis Bookshar. They are all based on the same excerpt from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets. These arrangements are suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing these selections as well. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (9 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. We have performed the Trumpet Quintet version of this composition quite often for numerous weddings and other special occasions. The Planets, written between 1914 and 1917 by the English composer Gustav Holst, premiered at the Queen's Hall in London, on September 29, 1918 for an invited audience of about 250 people. In the fourth movement, Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity, Holst portrays Jupiter's supposedly characteristic abundance of life and vitality. Nobility and generosity are allegedly characteristics of those born under Jupiter, and in the slower, middle section marked Andante Maestoso, perhaps the most well-known theme from The Planets (and the theme on which this arrangement is based), Holst provides a broad tune embodying these traits. In 1921, Holst adapted the theme to fit the patriotic poem I Vow to Thee, My Country by Cecil Spring Rice, and was written as a unison song with orchestra. It did not appear as the hymn tune until 1926, when Holst harmonized this melody, named Thaxted, named after the English village where he had lived for many years. Holst's friend Ralph Vaughan Williams included it in Songs of Praise. It has since been performed at numerous occasions, most notably for the wedding of Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales in 1981, and also at the funerals of Princess Diana in 1997, Margaret Thatcher in 2013 and Senator John McCain where it was performed at the Washington National Cathedral on September 1, 2018. In addition to being used as the melody for the solemn, patriotic hymn I Vow to Thee, My Country, other settings of this hymn tune also include O God, Beyond All Praising, by Michael Perry in 1982, O Spirit All Embracing by Delores Dufner in 1995 and We Praise You and Acknowledge You, O God, a paraphrase of the Te Deum Laudemus by Stephen P. Starke in 1999.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, in addition to the Trumpet Quintet version, and this version for a Violin Quintet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection. There are Quintets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are added as often as possible. I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of Jupiter based on the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gustav H.

Starke in 1999.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, in addition to the Trumpet Quintet version and this version for a French Horn Quintet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection. Brass Ensemble Trumpet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813722 Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. 20th Century,Contemporary,Standards,Wedding. Score and parts. 9 pages. Regis Bookshar #6474571. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813722). Jupiter (Andante Maestoso from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets) (Trumpet Quintet) - Intermediate - Digital Download.
