He is Director of Music at the Saint Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis, Indiana, and has music published with AMSI, Flammer, Somerset Press, Bourne, Sacred Music Press and Heritage Music Press?and now Choristers Guild! 'Three Wise Kings' may be performed either in unison or two-part, and is to be accompanied by organ and finger cymbals. The work is appropriate either as a Christmas anthem or an anthem for the Epiphany season. The Latin text, 'Hodie, Christus Natus est' means 'Christ is born today!' and is pronounced 'Ho-dee-eh, KREE-stoos NAH-toos ehst'. The work very uniquely uses the Latin section as a refrain, and then on the last stanza, combines the refrain and verse in a two-part section, concluded by a coda and 'Amen'. The work should be quite simple to perform, and should provide us with an effective anthem for next season.

In this full, uncut version of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons (all four concerti) the first violin has an unedited solo line and the rest of the parts have been edited to cover as much as possible of the ripieno role. This can be played as a string quintet or string quartet (the double bass is optional as it mostly doubles the cello part). Vicky Berry is a long-serving violinist in the UK's renowned Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra Resonate Strings (a quintet formed to take music into schools and the community). She edited the Four Seasons so that Resonate Strings would be able to play the full version of the piece with the recognisable solo line and an accompaniment suitable for a smaller ensemble. Due to the difficulty of the solo line, this version is for professional or very good amateur players.

Gordon Cherry #4764795. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792262). Franz Schubert was the master composer of the German Art Song or Lied. Auf dem Strom (On the River) was written in 1828, just a year after Beethoven's death. With the performance of this and other works at a concert promoting his music, Schubert reached the zenith of his popularity in a career which was tragically cut short only a little while later. Mr. Sauer has beautifully transcribed this work in the key of E-flat (original key of E major) for Trombone, Horn & Piano. The Trombone performs the Tenor voice part of the trio. A substitute Trombone part has also been supplied for the Horn part. The lyrics of the poem, written by Ludwig Rellstab have been included with the score to better allow the performers an understanding of soul of the work. About 7 minutes in length for advanced performers. This transcription was first performed by Ralph Sauer and Hornist Stefan Dohr (Berlin Philharmonic) at the Melbourne International Festival of Brass.

Published by BJE Music (A0.750865). God Defend New Zealand was written as a poem in the 1870s by Irish-born, Victorian-raised immigrant Thomas Bracken of Dunedin. A competition to compose music for the poem was held in 1876 by The Saturday Advertiser and judged by three prominent Melbourne musicians, with a prize of ten guineas. The winner of the competition was the Tasmanian-born John Joseph Woods of Lawrence, New Zealand who composed the melody in a single sitting the evening after finding out about the competition. The song was first performed at the Queen’s Theatre, Princes Street, Dunedin, on Christmas Day, 1876. ISBN 9790570485277.'Plateau of Dances with a Scottish Flavour' Plateau of Dances with a Scottish Flavour was composed in autumn 2016, Eastbourne, and is inspired by my childhood in Doune, Perthshire; as well as the Ceilidhs and Feis (cultural festival in the Highlands) my daughter, Clara, and I were immersed in when we lived in the picturesque village of Kingussie, Badenoch and Strathspey. The four dances are a celebration of my love and nostalgia for Scotland, and an expression of my family's Scottish memories. Each dance comes with a quote from my favourite poet, Robert Burns, whose insightful and sensitive observations are a poignant appreciation of everyday life. Why the reference to Scottish food? Because this piece is dedicated to my father, Papou, who appreciates a merry supper. The 1st Movement, 'To the Mighty Haggis', is a Strathspey with its characteristic Scotch snap -a short-long rhythm, as if saying the word 'haggis'; which is fitting as the Scottish bard's quote comes from his poem Address to a Haggis, traditionally said on Burns' Night. The 2nd Movement, 'The Humble Shortbread', is a Reel; as is usually the case in Scottish dances. It should be played with a slightly 'snappy', swung rhythm. 'What though on homely fare we dine, [...] A man is a man for all that' comes from my favourite Burns' poem: A Man's a Man for A' That. And who doesn't enjoy the humble shortbread? There is a more reflective, nostalgic mood to the 3rd Movement, 'Ode to the Homely (salty) Porridge'. The Air is a reminiscence of the quiet evenings Clara and I would spend in Kingussie, with our view of the beautifully haunting mountains. 'What will I get to my supper, [...] Ye'se get a panfu' o' plumpin parridge' comes from Burns' The Shepherd's Wife who tries to entice her husband back home with the promise of porridge (the Scottish way: with salt). Finally, the 4th Movement, 'Too Many Drams of Whisky', is a cheerful and lively Jig. It's the convivial merriness of being with friends and family, maybe at a Ceilidh, with a wink to Scotland's 'water of life'. 'We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet, For auld lang syne' comes from Burns' famous Auld Lang Syne: a fitting end to our musical and culinary tour of Scotland.

Botany Bay was originally heard, under a different name, in both Melbourne and London in the Nineteenth Century as part of a Burlesque Musical, and Click Goes the Shears reflects the importance of the wool industry in Australia. The contrasting time signatures and tempos are, in some way, symbolic of the enormous variety found in this vast continent.

I've always wanted to know what power chords would sound like on a Flute and decided to arrange Paranoid to find out. I am very pleased with the results and hope that you agree. There are two ways that this arrangement can be played that can get two sounds. Playing it as written will give a medieval sound, which is what the MP3 file sounds like. The second option is to add Flute Beatboxing. Whenever a part has Quarter notes jumping 5ths (measure 5 Flute 3) the performer instead of playing normally can use strong Puh and Caa articulations to sound like a drum kit. I have attached a video using this technique to play the super mario bros theme to better describe what I mean by Flute Beatboxing. There is also an optional Jet Whistle in Flutes 1 and 2 in measure 20. Both techniques create a unique sound that accurately reflects the source material as well as giving musicians more expressive capabilities. At this time, I have been unable to attach individual parts. If you would like individual parts to go with the score let me know and we will work something out!
