Bass Flute,Instrumental Solo,Piano - Level 1 - SKU: A0.548712 Composed by Martin Luther. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Easter,Instructional,Standards. Score and individual part. 4 pages. Jmsgu3 #3411731. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548712). Out of the Depths I Cry to You by Martin Luther arranged for bass flute & piano. The first verses feature modified counterpoint and harmony proceeding at quarter = 82. The final verse is reharmonized for maximum dramatic effect at a more contemplative tempo such as quarter = 64. Features the entire range of the instrument. Very powerful selection for Lent or Easter. Duration (3 verses) 3:05, 36 ms. Score: 3 pg. Solo part: 1 pg. The piano reads from the score. Out of the Depths Aus tiefer Not schrei ich zu dir (From deep affliction I cry out to you), is, of course, a hymn composed by Martin Luther. Moreover, Luther also wrote the lyrics, essentially a paraphrase of Psalm 130. First published in 1524, it is also one of eight songs in the original Lutheran hymnal. It appears likewise in many hymnals and in different translations. The lyrics furthermore stimulated compositions from the Renaissance to the contemporary. Consequently, composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach built an entire chorale cantata on it. Other composers similarly contributed pieces, such as Felix Mendelssohn and Max Reger. Luther Background Martin Luther, (1483 –1546) was a German professor of theology, composer, priest, and moreover, an influential character in the Protestant Reformation. Luther had a momentous impact on church and society due to his contributions to the musical arts. He wanted to disseminate the gospel among mankind and with this intention thought that the best way to do that was through music. Influence It is important to realize that other musicians, and their descendants, were encouraged by Luther’s songs and wrote their own hymns. Luther, to be sure, had a thorough musical education. For example, he knew secular and sacred songs from an early age. He, in particular, played the lute well and sang in the monastery when he was a monk. That is to say, music was an essential part of his life. He in fact first began writing songs in 1523, sometimes writing the melody as well as the lyrics. Luther was certainly able to evaluate the composers of his time. He thought especially highly of Josquin des and Ludwig Senfl. He was also acquainted, with this in mind, with other composers and their works. Legacy The Lutheran musical ethos soon covered all of Germany and later significantly fashioned Protestant musical culture. Heinrich Schütz and Johann Sebastian Bach are the most compelling evidence of this Protestant musical culture. Additionally, as a point often overlooked, the pedal organ, first refined in northern Germany, became universally prevalent. As a matter of fact, Dieterich Buxtehude established a regular evening organ concert series in Lübeck. Another key point is that this concert series, in turn, spread North German Musical ideas worldwide. Luther was especially convinced that music is a beautiful and exclusive offering of the divine.

It appears likewise in many hymnals and in different translations. The lyrics furthermore stimulated compositions from the Renaissance to contemporary. Consequently, composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach built an entire chorale cantata on it. Other composers similarly contributed compositions, such as Felix Mendelssohn and Max Reger.

Small Ensemble Cello,Flute,High Voice,Piano - Level 5 - SKU: A0.800331 Composed by Sarah Wallin Huff. Contemporary. Score and parts. 43 pages. Novel Soundtrax #11219. Published by Novel Soundtrax (A0.800331). This work by Sarah Wallin is a vocal text setting for soprano, flute, cello, and piano, completed in 2008. According to Dr. Edward David Zeliff, Fair Katrinelje... is very interesting, clever, witty, and captures the quirky little scenario of this poor fellow trying so hard to line up a bride by having to go through the firewall of her entire family and then having enough umph left over to get her attention as well. It's very Stravinskyish, and the charm and humor comes through. The story of Fair Katrinelje and Pif-Paf-Poltrie is a lesser-known fairy tale found in the Children's and Household Tales of Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, the famous Brothers Grimm. Fair Katrinelje and Pif-Paf-Poltrie is a comedic dialogue. Our hero, Pif-Paf-Poltrie, is out to seek the hand of his beloved, the Fair Katrinelje, in marriage. Being the gentleman that he is, he approaches in turn each member of his beloved's family to ask their permission. Father Hollenthe, Mother Malcho, Brother High-and-Mighty, and Sister Käsetraut all respond in turn similarly – essentially, If it's all right with everyone else, it's all right with me. The challenge for the vocalist is to convey the essence and the hilarity of the dialogue by highlighting, with the mannerisms of the voice, the attitudes and characteristics of each character speaking. Above each character's lines, it is made clear whom it is that is speaking and the emotional context within which it is being spoken. The vocalist has complete freedom to effect these roles in whatever manner and to whatever degree is deemed appropriate, provided the musical integrity of the work is kept intact.

David Warin Solomons #55573. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576675). Many years ago I wrote a song about looking in the personal ads, imaging four rather different individuals searching for their ideal partners. The effect is comic but also a bit sad. At the suggestion of a cellist friend of mine I have created an additional cello part for it, added a couple of little solo passages for her and some moments (pauses and cello chords) for optional histrionic expression on the part of the performers. Two versions of this are avaialble, one with piano and one with guitar accompaniment - the accompanying styles are rather different between them, so I have published them separately. The pdf file contains score and parts The sound sample is an electronic preview. The original song with guitar performed by the composer can be enjoyed on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ju2q7giwJ0s The original song with piano (sung by Stephen Taylor and Jonathan Leonard) can be heard on Bandcamp at http://davidwarinsolomons.bandcamp.com/album/songs-of-solomons (track 10).

Published by Brandon Nelson (A0.1201730). Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and his theory on how colors impacted mental states was the inspiration for this piece. He was far more gifted with prose than I, so I’ll him explain further:We shall not be surprised to find that [colours’] effects are at all times decided and significant, and that they are immediately associated with the emotions of the mind.Colour, considered as an element of art, may be made subservient to the highest aesthetical needs.General impressions produced by single colours cannot be changed[.] They act specifically and must produce definite, specific states in the living organ. Experience teaches us that particular colours excite particular states of feeling.Goethe goes on to detail these notions in an elaborate, deeply imaginative treatise. Sadly for him, this work was coming out just as the science of optics had begun to give the world an empirical understanding of color, leaving Goethe’s romantic ideas in the margins. But it is those ideas that I find intriguing from a poetic viewpoint, and, in this composition, I shed musical light unto his dramatic descriptions of several different colors.“Yellow-Red†is described as “primordial, impetuous, robust,†to the point of eliciting “extreme excitement†which disturbs and enrages even animals!“Yellow†is portrayed as that being nearest to natural light. It is of “utmost purity and beauty[….] Serene, gay, softly exciting.â€The color “Red-Blue†we are told is “something lively without gladness.â€â€œBlue†is steeped in darkness, a “contradiction between excitement and repose.†It gives one the “impression of cold.†and brings to mind melancholy.

Published by Matt Smith (A0.1069453). The Four Temperaments is a theory created by Ancient Greek physician Aelius Galenus to describe the effect of the four fundamental bodily homours on human personality. The temperaments are Melancholic, Phlegmatic, Choleric, and Sanguine. The theory is that every person has varying levels of each temperament within them, but overall identifies with a single one. Each temperament is related to a classical element and a personality type:Melancholic - Earth - Analytical and QuietPhlegmatic - Water - Relaxed and PeacefulCholeric - Fire - Short tempered and IrritableSanguine - Air - Optimistic and SocialIn this suite we travel through all four of the temperaments, seeing how the same melody is interpreted by each personality type.Duration: About 5 minutesYouTube demo video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zm46LzV604cVisit www.mattsmithmusic.co.uk for more!

Banjo,Bass Guitar,Ukulele - Level 1 - SKU: A0.913058 Composed by Andrei Lucian Dragoi. Instructional. 8 pages. Andrei-Lucian Dragoi #5741645. Published by Andrei-Lucian Dragoi (A0.913058). This paper proposes a sketch-version of a unifying beginners’ cost-effective teaching/learning method for any fretted string instrument (like ukulele, guitalele, mandolin and guitar) using the same 4-strings tuning which may be also used to teach/learn the basic music theory and practice elements: more specifically, the standard tuning of the central 4 strings of the guitar may be applied (non-standardly!) to all the other cited smaller (thus more portable) instruments (like ukulele, guitalele and mandolin) which may be used either independently/separately or as preparatory instruments for the purpose of teaching guitar (and music theory) after that first teaching/learning phase on a smaller instrument (or on a 4-strings guitar). This unifying method may largely open the horizons of children (and beginners in general, to experience more than one instrument) and may also help poor children/persons (who don’t afford a guitar) to be taught the guitar basics (including important elements of music theory) on much cheaper (smaller) instruments (who are generally much more accessible): that is why this method also addresses to all music teaching systems from all poor countries worldwide. For those who have a guitar or a guitalele and want to apply this method, they may easily remove the 1st and the 6th guitar/guitalele strings (E4 and E2): the resting nucleus composed from the 4 central strings is sufficient to teach/learn all the basic theoretical and practical notions of guitar (or any other fretted string instrument) and music in general. This paper also contains some examples of songs (written in English and Romanian languages) with included chords (aka tabulatures), each song displayed in one tonality (C major or its relative A minor) or two tonalities (C major [/A minor] and G major [/ E minor]) which can then be altered by using a capodastro (aka capo) to fit any tonality and thus fit the ambitus and tessitura (the most acceptable and comfortable vocal range) of any child/adult voice. For a periodically-updated extensive online catalog of harmonized/ chorded songs see URL: http://dragoii.com/hcs This paper continues the work of other past articles/preprints of the same author in music.

RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER - fun arrangement for Guitar Trio or larger ensembleFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes What happens when some players would rather play Jingle Bells? My arrangement of Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer is a little bit of fun - every time the tune pauses for breath, the lower guitar parts try to play Jingle Bells. But the tune always wins and makes a charming little concert piece that will reward the players with chuckles and smiles from the audience. The introduction (which is not always heard on some arrangements) is in straight timing, but the piece gathers speed and moves to swing rhythm for the rest of the song. The slurs improve the flow of the piece; the dynamics make sure the effects work out fine and that the ending is that little bit more impressive.I hope you enjoy playing this piece! This is one of a large and growing range of accessible ensembles from experienced arranger Derek Hasted, and is supplied as full score and parts. Instrumental Duet Guitar,Instrumental Duet,Piano - Level 2 - SKU: A0.596568 Composed by Juan MarÃa Solare. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 9 pages. Juan Maria Solare #4717703. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596568). Has the Rain a Father? This piece exists in two versions: Piano solo Guitar solo (without or with electronic sounds) The piano version has no huge secrets (to clarify: the pedal is used da capo al fine without interruption). The guitar version is written in three keys: E, G and A (Dorian). The performer may choose one or another score at their convenience. The guitar version can also use effects of all kinds, or amplifiers that are not always used in classical music. At the end of 2019 an album will be released on Spotify and other online music platforms with both versions of the piece (solo piano and acoustic guitar with electronic sounds). As an example of the amplitude that the composer expects from the performers: in this record production, the guitar signal is split in two parts, panned to the right and left, and different types of effects are applied to each channel (chorus, delay, reverb of different kinds and with different parameters). The original guitar signal is also in the center. Of course, there are also the electronic sounds themselves. A preliminary version can be heard here: https://juanmariasolare.bandcamp.com/album/has-the-rain-a-father Has the Rain a Father? is a quote from the bible, specifically from the book of Job 38:28. It is part of a series of rhetorical questions that tend to convince Job of his ignorance. Has the Rain a Father? was composed in Bremen (Germany) on March 17, 2019 (plus details to the piano part on March 27). Its duration is about 4:30. I asked some people about the wording of the title. Among the meaningful answers: Which wording is better, Has the rain a Father? or Does the Rain have a father? (Bible, Job, 38:28). It will be used as the title of a music piece for piano. Has the Rain a Father? is slightly unusual, and thus is attention-grabbing, something you want in a title. It sounds more biblical, calling attention to the allusion. In ordinary speech the Does the . . . version is more common, but for a title you don’t necessarily want common. (Johnny Wilson, former Writer and Magazine Editor (1973-1999))

Como ler os acidentes na Partitura How to read accidents in sheet music Lesson 9 Signs of change. This class is about sharp #, flat b and bequadro (I can't do this sign by keyboard. That's why it's important to watch this class that will be on the card in the upper right corner). There are still the signs of double sharp x or ## and double flat bb. Don't be folded bequadro. I ask permission to use pleonasm Sharp # function: raises the pitch of the note by a semitone up. Makes the note a semitone higher. B-flat function: lower the pitch of the note by a semitone down. Makes the note a semitone lower. Double sharp x or ## function: raise the pitch of the note by one step. Makes the note a higher pitch. Double-flat bb function: lower the pitch of the note by one tone. Makes the pitch of the note a lower pitch. Bequadro function (I can't make this signal by keyboard. That's why it's important to watch this class that will be on the cards in the upper right corner). Nullify both the sharp (whether it's doubled or not) and the flat function (whether it's doubled or not). The bequadro still cancels the accidents of the key signature. Lesson 10 Bars and bar numbers It is a vertical line placed on the pentagram. It serves to organize the writing of the score in a Cartesian way. When the amount of beats exceeds the measure, it is necessary to place the vertical line and continue in another measure. This is one of the reasons to know the bar count. Another reason is when a large group is going to rehearse a song and it is often necessary to stop the rehearsal in order to make necessary adjustments. In this case, to optimize the rehearsal, the music is not restarted from measure 1, but from a few measures before the adjustments made, whether by the group, conductors, etc. The barline cancels out the accidentals that occur. For example, if an F# note appears in the middle of a piece of music, when that F moves to the next measure, it will no longer be sharp. The barline also cancels the bequadro in this situation, that is, if by chance the music is not set to a key other than C major or A minor, when the bequadro appears precisely on the keynote note, in the next bar if it is not spelled again, the key signature accident takes effect.

Luis Anjos Teixeira #3490179. Published by Luis Anjos Teixeira (A0.889417). for the 2018 Chamber Music Contest Entry,Moon Over The Rising Sun was written very early in the morning while the night fades away giving birth to a sun rise. Conceived for a mixed ensemble of nine to 10 performers. 2 Flutes, Clarinet, Horn, guitar, Harp, Violin, Viola, 1 Timpanist, 1 or 2 Percussionists. The piece has an intime atmosphere very common in chamber music. Very easy to perform and very flexible, it is ideal for schools or when various kinds of mixed ensembles are taking place. With very few effort from the players, it has a large effect on the audience. As I said the piece is very flexible, for exemple the shakuhachi flute can be replaced by a soprano recorder or any other kind of flute with a similar register. A piano could eventually replace the harp. Due to a certain Tutti caracter on the string section, more violins, violas and cellos would easily join the group. One Cello or Double Bass „Pizzicato could reenforce the left hand on the harp part. Other wise and when possible, it should be performed as written. I also have added some interpretation symbols like fortes and pianos but only as a personal suggestion for an interpretation. Of course the artists must decide how they prefer to perform the piece and should have the last word on their performances. The score was written on Finale. The sound file For the 2018 Chamber Music Contest Entry, was performed with samplers from Garritan and conceived as an audio support for the presentation of the score. This is the first time that this version is published in Sheet Music Plus or anywhere else! This piece was inspired by some aspects of western, eastern, African and american cultures. The list of inspiring human phenomena and achievement within art and music never find an end. There is so much to learn! For now let the World play music. Music is the ultimate Universal language. Imagine we all playing music with each other. The World full of music schools and instruments instead of military camps and weapons. Millions of beautiful people with music instruments in their hands playing music with each other all around the World. Our war lords would start opening music shops for a change. And we would live much happier!!! Music Can Save The World Thanks to Claudia Eppelt for the cover design, all the Love and inspiration. Special Thanks to Nina and Stray Queen Mimi for my Family, all their Love Patience and Compassion. True Love Forever. Thank you very much for taking your time to read this text and to listen to the file.I hope you have a lot of fun and enjoy the music.Love ForeverSheers! Luis Anjos Teixeira

Published by MTC Publishing (A0.1514589). Together As One - Choral Composition for SSA choir and Piano by Michael Thomas CoullTogether As One is a song about singing in a choir and performing to an audience. It explores how singing gives us both sides of the emotional coin: from nervousness and even trepidation on one side, to great joy on the other. We all feel nervous before a performance, and even more so when we are actually standing in front of the audience. But then we are announced, the choir director raises their arms, the accompanist starts the introduction and we are all brought in and start singing. And at that moment we realize something, that when we all sing a great joy overtakes us, lifting us up to another world where our voices meld 'Together As One'. This original composition for SSA choir and piano accompaniment is an inspirational song that captures the mood and enjoyment of singing, and how singing effects us both individually and as a group. A song that your choir will love to sing with beautiful harmonies and a soaring descant part, and perfect to perform at any time of the year. Also available for SATB, SSAA and Unison in F Major, and 2-Part in Eb Major.

(Choral) - SKU: H1.8566DP Composed by Joel Raney. Lent, Holy Week, Easter Sunday. Preview pack - book & listening CD. 67 pages. Hope Publishing - Digital #8566DP. Published by Hope Publishing - Digital (H1.8566DP). Sydney Carter.Lent & Easter Musical Sydney Carter's classic hymn, Lord of the Dance, is a metaphor of the life of Christ. In beautiful, poetic language, Carter describes Jesus as The Piper, calling his followers to the dance of life. This 30-minute musical from Joel Raney is an elaboration on that hymn, portraying each verse individually in a dramatic, colorful presentation - all retelling the story from John 3:16, For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. Appropriate for use anytime during Lent or Holy Week, for Palm Sunday or Easter morning, there is an additional narration and underscore that leads into an exciting, complete setting of Lord of the Dance, celebrating Christ's victorious resurrection. For Maundy Thursday or Good Friday, it may be concluded with the musical benediction My Jesus, I Love Thee. Narration and scripture have been carefully chosen to complete the story, tying together the verses of Lord of the Dance with a variety of other timeless hymns and songs, creating a meaningful worship experience for the congregation. The piano accompaniment works extremely well by itself, while the optional instrumental parts require a minimal number of players and will enhance the overall effect. The Instrumental Parts include a Conductor's Score and parts for Flute, Oboe, Violin and Cello.
