Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1264876 By Laura Olson. By Laura Olson. Arranged by Laura Olson. Celtic,Classical,Folk,Irish,Multicultural,New Age,World. 12 pages. Blue Steer Studios #857714. Published by Blue Steer Studios (A0.1264876). Perform this original work of Celtic Irish setting from her CD (Gypsy Road,2012) scored for harp ensemble of intermediate to advanced players.  Scored in E minor with no lever changes it features a creative slip-jig with lush and effective harmonies.  A rare opportunity to showcase programmatic skills for the harp ensemble.  The dark and mysterious musical message will touch the hearts of all who hear it.About the CompositionI wrote this when I was very angry at the world.  Someday I might meet a black hound on a dark night... and we’ll both go hunting together.Black Dogs,  Black Hounds, The Hounds of Hell,  Dogs of Hell,  Gabriel Hounds, Yell Hounds,  Barghest,  Black Dog of the Hanging Hills, Gurt Dog or the Hounds of Herne the Hunter… by whatever name, they are a common feature in the folklore of the British Isles.  The Black Hounds of Cŵn Annwn are the spectral hounds of Annwn, the otherworld of Welsh myth.  Early Christians came to dub these mythical creatures as The Hounds of Hell or Dogs of Hell and erroneously theorized they were therefore owned by Satan.  However, the Annwn of medieval Welsh tradition is an otherworldly paradise and not a hell or abode of dead souls. The Black Hounds are a nocturnal apparition, and their appearance was regarded as a portent of death. They are supposed to hunt on specific nights in the autumn and winter when it is believed that the howling of these huge dogs foretold death to anyone who heard them. *************************************************About the Composer Laura Olson (ASCAP) is a retired California music educator with over 30 years of experience specializing in stringed instruments and orchestras. She holds a B.A. in Music Education and M.A. in Irish Traditional Music Performance (fiddle, flute, and harp). Her experience as a symphonic musician, ethnic musician, and Film/TV composer led her to combining the three aspects of music into her own compositions and arrangements; storybook music in cinematic style. She is the owner of her recording and publishing label Blue Steer Studios(ASCAP) which allows her to combine her composing skills with knowledge of both the business and publishing aspects of music industry. Winner of a Silver Ace Award from the Las Vegas Film Festival she has composed music for all types of media, including Film/TV, web and advertising, and her own personal music in audio CD and sheet music. In 2021 she took time off from composing to relocate her studio to Eastern Washington (Spokane) and is now getting started on new projects and pursuing music composition full time. Small Ensemble Bass Guitar,Drum Set,Electric Violin,Voice - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.845983 By Avenged Sevenfold. By Brian Haner, Jr., Jonathan Seward, Matthew Sanders, and Zachary Baker. Arranged by Kyle Pudenz. Rock. Score and parts. 28 pages. ViolinVagabond Music #6022455. Published by ViolinVagabond Music (A0.845983). While Hail To The King will never be A7X's most popular or Critically Acclaimed (...see what I did there) record, it did provide us with some of the catchiest guitar hooks & drum grooves in this band's entire catalog. The opening track, Shepherd of Fire, is an absolute banger of a crossover tune that appeals to rock & metal fans alike. Consequently, like so many Avenged hits, it plays quite well as an instrumental cover and can be adapted to some interesting instrumentations beyond the original 2-guitar, bass, drums format in which it was recorded. Some years ago, I performed this tune with a 4-piece band on my college recital and it was an absolute blast! Whether out of sentimentality or just sheer boredom (I write this as we are right in the thick of the Covid-19 pandemic and gigs are... scarce, to say the least), I decided to resurrect that arrangement and clean up my shorthand charts into some real parts so that you, too, might have the joy of bringing this hard rock anthem to life with your own ensemble. The purchase of this chart includes:- Fully notated parts for drum set, bass, & rhythm guitar- Fully notated Lead part that merges the brass, lead guitar, & vocal parts into one cohesive chart- Lyrics & vocal melodies notated on lead part (if using a vocalist)- Full transcription of Synyster Gates's original guitar solo! (printed on lead part)This arrangement can be performed by as few as 4 instrumentalists. My original performance was with electric violin, guitar, bass & drums, but with the updated Lead chart the violin could easily be replaced by keyboards, a second guitar, or any instrumentalist that can read at concert pitch. The original 4-piece recording can be found at the YouTube link above, but expansion and imagination are highly encouraged!Enjoy the chart, and if you have questions, comments or suggestions, you can contact me via my website www.kylepudenz.com/ or on Instagram @theviolinvagabond

Small Ensemble Cello,Double Bass,Saxophone,Viola,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.938331 Composed by Dr Anthony Costandius. Christian,Contemporary,Sacred. Score and parts. 72 pages. Anthony Costandius Music #14899. Published by Anthony Costandius Music (A0.938331). A piece for solo Alto Saxophone and String Orchestra. The church was made a cathedral in 1564 when the city was granted its bishopric. The cathedral was built on the site of the Aljama Mosque in the first third of the 14th century. The name of this structure, El Salvador Cathedral, literally means the Cathedral of the Transfiguration. The cathedral has three portals: the Puerta de las Cardenas (Portal of the Chains, 14th century) is in Islamic style, the Puerta de Loreto (mid-15th century) is Gothic, and Puerta de la Anunciación (Portal of the Annunciation, built in 1588 by Juan Inglés), which has a Renaissance-style triumphal arch-shape. Part 1: Introitis. The saxophone mimics a chant based on the metre of the Introitis: Rorate, caeli, desuper, et nubes pluant iustum: aperiatur terra, et germinet Salvatorem (Bedew us, heavens, from above; ye clouds, rain down the Just One. Let the earth be opened up, and produce the Saviour. The intervals 1 (tonic), 5 (dominant), 6 (super-dominant) and 4 (subdominant), based on the year 1564 referred to in the section above, are used as the basis for the harmony progression for the string section. Part 2: Puerta de las Cardenas Acts 12:3–19 says that Peter was put into prison by King Herod, but the night before his trial an angel appeared to him, and told him to leave. Peter's chains fell off, and he followed the angel out of prison, thinking it was a vision (verse 9). The prison doors opened of their own accord, and the angel led Peter into the city. The visit from the angel, release from the chains and the prison, as well as the journey into the city is expressed against the background of the Islamic design of the portal, hence the referral to Arabian rhythms and scales in the music. Part 3: Puerta de Loreto The Puerta de Loreto is of gothic design. Loreto refers to the Italian city of Loreto in the province of Ancona. It is said that the holy house where the Mother Mary lived in Nazareth was translated miraculously to Loreto on December 19, 1294 - more than 700 years ago. The house did not go straight to Loreto, but in the year 1291 it was miraculously transported from Nazareth to the town of Tersatto in Dalmatia (Croatia). The local population, filled with astonishment, did not know how to explain its sudden appearance. Their Bishop, who was gravely ill, now appeared in their midst cured. He had prayed to the Virgin Mary that he might be strong enough to see the prodigy for himself, and the Mother of God appeared to him, surrounded by Angels, saying: My son, you have called for me, and here I am. I came to give you succor and to reveal to you the mystery [of the translation of the Holy House] you desire to know. The holy dwelling is the very house where I was born and raised. It was there that I received the good news brought by the Archangel Gabriel and I conceived the Divine Infant by the operation of the Holy Ghost. It was there that the Word was made flesh... For you to bear witness to all that I am telling you now, you will suddenly be cured and return to full health after the long illness you have borne, so that through you all will believe in this miracle. Part 4: Puerta de la Anunciación The Annunciation is the Christian celebration of the announcement by the angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary that she would conceive and become the mother of Jesus, the Son of God, marking his Incarnation. Gabriel told Mary to name her son Jesus, meaning Saviour. Part 5: Exit The work ends with a re-interpretation of the first section, the Introitis. This is to bind the work together, but also to again reflect on the text, as stated: Rorate, caeli, desuper, et nubes pluant iustum: a periatur terra, et germinet Salvatorem, and to comtemplate how that gives meaning to the being, essence and history of the Catedral de Orihuela.

Pantheon for Horn, Violin and Piano
Small Ensemble Horn,Piano,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1503872 Compo…

Small Ensemble Horn,Piano,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1503872 Composed by Elizabeth Raum. 20th Century. 73 pages. Gordon Cherry #1079324. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.1503872). Rome's Pantheon, based on Greek mythical legends was first constructed over 2,000 years ago as a temple of all the gods. In the year 609, it became a Catholic church.Pantheon for Violin, Horn, and Piano by the great Canadian composer Elizabeth Raum is a seven-movement suite of chamber music depicting various of the Greek gods:1. Eos: Goddess of the Dawn2. Moirae: Gods of Fate3. Aphrodite: Goddess of Love and Beauty4. Zeus and Hera5. Artemis (Diana) Goddess of the Moon and the Hunt6. Hermes (Mercury) of the Winged Sandals7. Apollo: God of Sun and LightHere are the comments about Pantheon from composer Elizabeth Raum:Pantheon alludes to a temple, a musical temple in this case, devoted to the gods of ancient Greek mythology, several of whom are represented in this work. The first movement opens with a horn call as Eos, Goddess of the Dawn begins her rosy-fingered awakening, and rising from her couch, ascends the heavens in her horse-drawn chariot. She heralds the approach of her brother, Helius, the sun god, whose superior brightness causes her color to fade. In the second movement, The Fates (Moirae) spin their thread of life and death. The minimalist quality of the music, representing the steady turn of the spindle, becomes more and more agitated as Atropos, the Fate who holds the shears, prepares to cut the thread. The hand stopped horn and the Bartok pizzicato signify the final snip. A moment of contemplation, and they begin again. Some try to persuade Atropos to delay a moment, but she cannot be deterred. Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, is the third movement. She arose from the foam of the sea and all were charmed by her grace, but she could also be coy and flirtatious as she is in this version. Zeus and Hera, the king and queen of the gods, make up the fourth movement. The opening theme suggests the regal stride of Zeus while Hera, furious at his many infidelities, quarrels with him and schemes to thwart his affairs. In the fifth movement, Artemis (Dawn Goddess of the Moon and the Hunt), holds high her silver bow that gleams in the night sky like the new moon. The clouds drift silently past while she runs with her hounds and dances with her nymphs. Hermes (Mercury) of the Winged Sandals, sixth movement, is scored for violin and horn alone. He is a very mischievous and cunning god, and his exceptional swiftness is aided by his winged sandals as he flies to carry out his divine duties. And finally in the seventh movement, Apollo the horn again summons the gods. A hymn to Apollo celebrates the god of eternal youth, beauty, and music. This is a major chamber work for Violin, Horn, and Piano of about 26 minutes in length written for Erika Raum, Phil Myers, and Peter Allen and is appropriate for very advanced artists.

Instrumental Duet,Piano Flute,Instrumental Duet,Piano,Trombone - Digital Download SKU: A0.726101 Arranged by Traditional, Johann Cruger. Christian,Holiday,Sacred. Score and parts. 12 pages. Con Spirito Music #6077249. Published by Con Spirito Music (A0.726101). This arrangement for trombone, flute, and piano brings together two hymn tunes that are especially popular at the American holiday of Thanksgiving, but appropriate at any time of year. We gather together are the opening words to a poem written by the Dutch poet and composer Adrianus Valerius in 1597 to celebrate the Dutch victory in a long-standing dispute with Spain. 1878, the Austrian composer/conductor Edward Kremser arranged six Dutch folk songs for men's voices, including Prayer of Thanksgiving: Old Dutch Melody, with texts in German. In 1894, Theodore Baker (editor of Baker's Biographical Dictionary of Musicians) translated the German text of Prayer of Thanksgiving into the familiar English version, We gather together to ask the Lord's blessing, that is sung today. Now Thank We All Our God is Catherine Winkworth's (1827-1878) translation of the German Nun Danket Alle Gott, written by Lutheran clergyman and hymn-writer Martin Rinckart (1586-1649). Rinckart's text, based on a passage from Ecclesiasticus, was set to a chorale tune by Johann Cruger (1598-1662) in his 1647 collection, Praxis pietatis melica (The Practice of Piety in Song), a hymnal for use in public worship and private devotions. Like We Gather Together, it is strongly associated the Thanksgiving holiday and other services of thanksgiving. Copyright 2015 Todd Marchand / www.ConSpiritoMusic.com

Brass Ensemble Euphonium - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813708 Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. 20th Century,Contemporary,Standards,Wedding. Score and parts. 9 pages. Regis Bookshar #6474537. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813708). Jupiter (Andante Maestoso from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets) (Euphonium Quintet) - Intermediate - Digital Download. This marvelous arrangement of the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gustav Holst's The Planets, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts and recitals but if you are considering using this selection for church services in which a congregation may sing along, I would suggest that you look for the arrangements of either I Vow to Thee, My Country, O God, Beyond All Praising, O Spirit All Embracing or Thaxted, also by Regis Bookshar. They are all based on the same excerpt from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets. These arrangements are suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing these selections as well. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (9 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. We have performed the Trumpet Quintet version of this composition quite often for numerous weddings and other special occasions. The Planets, written between 1914 and 1917 by the English composer Gustav Holst, premiered at the Queen's Hall in London, on September 29, 1918 for an invited audience of about 250 people. In the fourth movement, Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity, Holst portrays Jupiter's supposedly characteristic abundance of life and vitality. Nobility and generosity are allegedly characteristics of those born under Jupiter, and in the slower, middle section marked Andante Maestoso, perhaps the most well-known theme from The Planets (and the theme on which this arrangement is based), Holst provides a broad tune embodying these traits. In 1921, Holst adapted the theme to fit the patriotic poem I Vow to Thee, My Country by Cecil Spring Rice, and was written as a unison song with orchestra. It did not appear as the hymn tune until 1926, when Holst harmonized this melody, named Thaxted, named after the English village where he had lived for many years. Holst's friend Ralph Vaughan Williams included it in Songs of Praise. It has since been performed at numerous occasions, most notably for the wedding of Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales in 1981, and also at the funerals of Princess Diana in 1997, Margaret Thatcher in 2013 and Senator John McCain where it was performed at the Washington National Cathedral on September 1, 2018. In addition to being used as the melody for the solemn, patriotic hymn I Vow to Thee, My Country, other settings of this hymn tune also include O God, Beyond All Praising, by Michael Perry in 1982, O Spirit All Embracing by Delores Dufner in 1995 and We Praise You and Acknowledge You, O God, a paraphrase of the Te Deum Laudemus by Stephen P. Starke in 1999.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, in addition to the Trumpet Quintet version and this version for a Euphonium Quintet, written in Bass Clef, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection. There is also a version for a Euphonium Quintet written in Treble Clef, if you would prefer. There are Quintets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are added as often as possible. I'm certain that this beautif.

Jupiter (Andante Maestoso from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets) (Violoncello Quintet) - Intermediate - Digital Download. Starke in 1999.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, in addition to the Trumpet Quintet version, and this version for a Violoncello Quintet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection. Guitar Ensemble Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1074681 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Classical,Film/TV. Score and parts. 18 pages. Derek Hasted #678951. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1074681). PRESTO (Mozart K522) The Horse Of The Year Show TV Theme - 3 GUITARS OR LARGE ENSEMBLEFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes This is part of the fourth movement - Presto - of Mozart’s K522 for string quartet and two horns. It’s commonly known as “A Musical Jokeâ€, though the correct translation is “Some Musical Funâ€. In the UK, a sanitised version with added drumbeat and electric bass was used as the TV theme music to “The Horse Of The Year Showâ€. My arrangement has just some of the thematic material of the original, yet still fills a music stand. An optional repeat extends the piece to a little over 3 minutes. Mozart intended the piece as a showcase of how NOT to write, and the Presto contains some extraordinary and modern-sounding key changes as well as some rather odd counterpoint. The original Presto finishes with an unexpected burst into 4 different keys, all sounding together after one of the longest build-ups to an ending you’ll ever hear. My setting for 3 guitars ends in 3 of the 4 keys that Mozart burst into. Most audiences would probably associate this with a catastrophic disaster, so I’ve included a second ending that stays in key for a nice happy ending! Rather than the isolated quavers (eighth notes) and rests, I’ve used staccato marks to make a version that is much easier to read yet has exactly the same articulation. I hope you enjoy this piece!

Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.535382). The Revelations of Divine Love (Metaphors from Sea and Sky) (2009), an oratorio for soprano, baritone, chorus, and chamber orchestra (0000.1100.1perc.strings), was commissioned for and is dedicated to the choir ofRoyal Holloway, University of London and Rupert Gough, director of choral music. The texts of the work are adapted primarily from the writings of Julian of Norwich (c. 1342–1416).Julian is best-known for her Sixteen Revelations of Divine Love (c. 1393), believed to be the first Englishlanguagebook written by a woman. Considered one of the most significant English mystics of alltime, Julian lived a reclusive life as an anchoress at the Church of St. Julian in Norwich, England (hertrue name is unknown). Regarded even during her lifetime as a spiritual authority, her optimisticvisions have been very influential in the years that have followed.Texts are also drawn from three additional sources: an excerpt from the Book of Margery Kempe(translated by Christopher M. Brunelle), two poems by English poet Robert Herrick (1591–1674),and a poem by the American writer Elizabeth Kirschner (b. 1955).The primary concept underlying this oratorio is the presence of two distinct discourses. One is asequence taken from Julian’s religious visions. The other is a sonic geography of Nantucket Island(located 30 miles off the coast of Massachusetts in the United States). This interconnected conceptwas inspired by the writings of the great Scottish poet George Mackay Brown (1921–1996). Livinghis entire life on Scotland’s Orkney Islands, Mackay Brown consistently explored the transpositionof religious imagery and events to his native landscape. (For example, the poem Apple-Basket, Apple-Blossom takes the story and structure of the Stations of the Cross, and maps them onto imagery ofdistinctly Orcadian character.)The landscape of Nantucket Island has been the driving force behind a large number of mycompositions for many years. In this oratorio, Julian’s visions are transposed from Norwich andmapped onto the Nantucket landscape. Each movement of the work thus has two parallel purposes:a setting of the visionary words, and a portrayal of a specific place in Nantucket’s geography. Muchof the music was planned in the actual locations. Since the soloists and choir must, by necessity, singthe words, a great deal of the landscape is left to the orchestra. Thus, the orchestra’s role issubstantially greater than simply accompaniment.Because of these two discourses, the oratorio is not intended as comprehensive working out of allaspects of Julian’s visions, nor does it use her own structure and sequence. Rather, it takes herbeautiful words, and the fundamentals of her visions, and attempts to create a new narrative andspiritual experience from them. This is the full score. The vocal score is available for sale. The parts are available on rental from the publisher.

This marvelous arrangement of I Vow to Thee, My Country, a hymn tune based on the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gustav Holst's The Planets, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for church services, especially Weddings and Funerals, but would be appropriate any time during the church year. However, if you are looking to perform this selection for concerts or recitals, I would suggest you look for the arrangement of Jupiter (Andante Maestoso from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets), also by Regis Bookshar.
