These duet studies are intended as a companion volume and as additional exercises to the method 'Cello mit Spass und Hugo', but they are equally well suited as complementary material to any other course of study. Each piece tackles a clearly defined technical or tonal task, yet they are meant to be fun and useful additional to the chamber music repertoire in their own right. Initially the upper part is intended for the pupil, the lower one for the teacher. But as both parts are comparatively equal, they could also be attempted by two pupils. For group tuition it is suggested to introduce a couple of rhythmical accompanying parts.

This is a book of popular pieces arranged for duet; it comprises both volumes from the '15 Duets for Fun' series, plus the '21 Christmas Duets for Fun' as well, making a total of 51 duets in this set. The difficulty levels range from early-intermediate to advanced, and should provide something for everyone to enjoy. The pieces have been arranged so that both parts are interesting throughout - they often interweave and take on many roles within the music. A duet score is provided for each piece, and the repertoire covers wedding music, slow melodies, traditional Welsh melodies, baroque classics, famous symphonic melodies, piano works, Christmas classics and other popular pieces. 10 Latin Duets is an exciting collection of original compositions by David McKeown, arranged as duets for two Cellos.

Each piece explores a different style and flavour of Latin music, from the Rumbas, Salsas and Mambos of Cuba, to the Sambas and Bossas of Brazil, and on to the Calypsos and Merengues of the Caribbean. Mexico is represented by the Huapango, Venezuela and Colombia by the Joropo, and Argentina and Uruguay by the Tango.

Most of these duets are ideal for players of an Intermediate standard, with two or three more suitable for Advanced Intermediate.
