I was inspired to create this suite after the horrendous Paris attacks in 2015, to show our solidarity with French, and love for their music. I originally made an arrangement for string orchestra designed to be played by groups on different ability levels. This arrangement for two violas is intended for very advanced students, skilled amateurs, or professionals. I have not included any fingerings so as to leave this to the artistic choice of each performer. The arrangement includes seven selections: Bizet’s Carmen and L'Arésienne, Alouette, Frère Jacques, Offenbach’s Can-Can, Debussy’s Clair de Lune and La Marseillaise (French National Anthem) by Claude Joseph Rouget de Lisle. There are also brief quotes from Mahler's Symphony No. 1, Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique, and Schumann's Two Grenadiers. The entire suite is approximately eight minutes in length. Score and parts are included.

The Twelve Different Pieces for Two Cellos, dedicated to beginners, op. 58, by Johann Justus Friedrich Dotzauer, are a beautiful collection of short duets, perfectly suited to be used both in the classroom and in the concert hall. While the first cello is clearly written to play the role of the protagonist, the second cello is not relegated to a mere accompaniment seat. As usual with Dotzauer, something that may have contributed to these gems remaining unearthed until now, these pieces do not follow a growing order of difficulty. They are more or less equivalent in requiring up to the fourth position and not too many double stops, with some interesting bowing patterns here and there. Many forms are covered (there is even a fugue!), and none of them is in a slow tempo. This edition is made up of a 72-page book, in both PDF and EPUB form, enriched with interactive elements that make navigation a breeze. Additional PDF files for the score and the two cello parts are also included. It is an Urtext edition, in that it fully respects the composer's original text. Any correction to clear mistakes and/or editorial addition will be enclosed in square brackets. I hope you will enjoy every note of it!

The popular song Toss A Coin To Your Witcher from the Netflix series The Witcher is here arranged for two cellos. The first cello follows the vocal melody while the second cello part is based on the instrumental accompaniment. The parts are of intermediate difficulty, mostly in the bass clef, with a small portion of treble clef. The second cello part could be simplified by reducing chords to single notes or lowering the octave of the treble clef portion. The goal of this arrangement was to stay true to the feel and ambiance of the original song with the new instrumentation. A score and individual parts are included.

Published by David McKeown (A0.587663). The Trumpet Tune and Air was in fact written for organ, with the melody played on thetrumpet stop. Written around 1700, for many years this piece was attributed to Henry Purcell. But more recently many have questioned whether the composer was in fact Jeremiah Clarke, organist at St Paul’s Cathedral. What is known is that the piece was written for a semi-opera called The Island Princess, and that both men contributed music to the production. In recent years this piece has become a popular wedding favourite. This full version is arranged as a duet for two Cellos and the performance time is around two and a half minutes. Of course, performers, especially at weddings, may wish to abridge and shorten the arrangement. This is easily done as the different sections are self-contained and the repeat may be ignored.
