Alexa Kuberra has arranged Two Pieces for Brass Quartet by the late Romantic American composer Edward MacDowell. The works are originally for the Piano and work beautifully for the four brass.

Instrumentation is for 2 Trumpets in B-flat, Horn and Trombone.

The stately St. Anthony Chorale, all 8 contrasting variations plus a finale in the form of a passacaglia that ends with a triumphant restatement of the Chorale. A truly unique and demanding concert piece. This arrangement stays true to the original, and uses all of the colors of the organ and brass to capture the beauty and grandeur of the orchestral version. (includes alternate C Trumpet parts) Performance time, 20:00.

Known primarily through his Symphonies, Bruckner was a deeply religious man who also composed a wealth of sacred choral music. This motet, the text of which would be used during the three days before Easter Sunday, is mysterious, devotional and hauntingly beautiful. This arrangement also comes with alternate C Trumpets parts. However, some quintets have used Cornets and/or Flugelhorns, instead of Trumpets. Performance time, 3:45-4:45 (depending upon how slowly you wish to perform this work).
