Peet du Toit #6246543. Published by Peet du Toit (A0.802658). Some of These Days is a popular song, written and composed by Shelton Brooks, published in 1910, and associated with the performer Sophie Tucker. Shelton Brooks and Some of These Days was brought to Sophie Tucker's attention in 1910 by her maid, who insisted she meet Brooks and hear the song. Tucker instantly recognized its hit potential, performed and recorded many versions throughout the years, and eventually it became her signature song - including landing movie appearances to perform it.Tucker first recorded the song along with others on wax cylinder format in 1910-11. In 1926, on 78 RPM record format and backed by Ted Lewis and his band, Tucker recorded her classic, million-selling 1926 version, which stayed in the #1 position on the charts for five weeks beginning November 23, 1926, and re-affirmed her lasting association with the song. The song also appeared in a number of filmsThis fast number is sure to bring you excitement and joy.

Brass Ensemble Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 2 - SKU: A0.586198 By The Monkees. By Bill Martin, Chip Douglas, and Chris Douglas. Arranged by Jeff Tincher. Contemporary. Score and parts. 17 pages. Jeff Tincher #6644237. Published by Jeff Tincher (A0.586198). I started this arrangement the day Michael Nesmith passed. Guitar player with The Monkees, Michael was the quiet one of the group. He was the only musician until the other members learned their craft. Mike and Micky Dolenz did their last live show less than a month before. Michael was also the creative one, writing many of The Monkees' songs. His Elephant Parts project is considered the first music video and was an integral part of the beginning of MTV. In the original key, this song is the third song of The Monkees Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn, & Jones LP and includes the live ending from their final tour. Duration = 3:16. Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - SKU: A0.722787 Composed by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin. Arranged by Jari A. Villanueva. 20th Century. Score and parts. 13 pages. JV MUSIC #4785693. Published by JV MUSIC (A0.722787). Love Is Here to Stay for Brass Quintet Music by George Gershwin Arranged by Jari VillanuevaFull Score, 2 Trumpets in Bb, Horn in F, Trombone, TubaLove Is Here to Stay was the last musical composition George Gershwin completed before his death on July 11, 1937. Ira Gershwin wrote the lyrics after George's death as a tribute to his brother. Although George had not written a verse for the song, he did have an idea for it that both Ira and pianist Oscar Levant had heard before his death. When a verse was needed, Ira and Levant recalled what George had in mind. Composer Vernon Duke reconstructed the music for the verse at the beginning of the song. This is a nice setting of the seldom heard verse and chorus of this beautiful tune.

Dacker Music #859009. Published by Dacker Music (A0.1266456). This popular carol is set to the hymn tune Irby, penned in 1849 by English organist Henry J. Gauntlett (1805-1876). Since the beginning of the tune resembles another even more popular carol, I have included a couple of nods to it in this setting for brass sextet (standard quintet plus a second trombone).

He was publishing brass band journals etc., hence this piece for organ. Published by Jeff Tincher (A0.586208). I was in out library one day looking through their music and came across this double LP Waiting On Columbus by Little Feat. I never heard of the band but it was a live recording, which I always like. I looked at the track list and the 2nd song was Fat Man In The Bathtub. Now, any song with that strange of title I had to listen. This was the beginning of me being a Little Feat fan. In the original key from the live double LP, this song is a zydeco rock tune that will have you toe tapping. Duration = 4:52. Published by Jeff Tincher (A0.585492). The Leprechaun was the first LP that I heard by Chick Corea. I fell in love with his music ever since. I especially liked Chick's music when he used a lot of instruments in his music. This song has woodwind, brass, and strings along with his combo. The Leprechaun's Dream is the finale to the masterful LP. It is an epic tune with different keys, dynamics, key signatures and tempos. His wife, Gayle Moran, did the vocals on this piece. The beginning and ending chords are amazing. This is a complex piece with beautiful harmonies. In the original key. Duration = 13:03. Score and parts. 18 pages. Regis Bookshar #6615127. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813918). Brass Octet - Advanced/Intermediate - . This marvelous arrangement of the Russian Dance from Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky's extremely popular, The Nutcracker Suite, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts and recitals but would be most appropriate during the Holiday season. This selection has been arranged to keep all of the intensity and excitement of the original composition and is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (15 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. The Nutcracker is an 1892 two-act ballet with a score by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. It has enjoyed enormous popularity since the late 1960's and is performed by countless ballet companies, primarily during the Christmas season, especially in North America. Tchaikovsky's score has become one of his most famous compositions. Some critics have called it astonishingly rich in detailed inspiration and from beginning to end, beautiful, melodious, original and characteristic. The ballet's first complete performance outside Russia took place in England in 1934. The first complete United States performance was on December 24, 1944, by the San Francisco Ballet. It was such an enormous success that the San Francisco Ballet has presented The Nutcracker every Christmas Eve and throughout the winter season, debuting new productions in 1944, 1954, 1967 and 2004. In Salt Lake City, it has been performed every year since 1963. The New York City Ballet gave its first annual performance in 1954. In addition to annual live stagings of the work, many productions have also been televised or released on home video. The Nutcracker continues to be one of Tchaikovsky's most popular compositions and contains some of his most memorable works. Tchaikovsky made a selection of eight of the numbers from the ballet before the ballet's December 1892 premiere, forming The Nutcracker Suite, Op. 71a, and is intended for concert performance. The suite was first performed, under the composer's direction, on March 19, 1892. The suite became instantly popular with almost every number encored at its premiere.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could also have the opportunity to play some of these wonderful compositions, originally scored for a full orchestra, and has arranged two of the selections, the popular March and the Russian Dance, one of the character dances, based on the Russian and Ukrainian folk dance, Trepak, for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. So, in addition to this version of the Russian Dance, for a Brass Octet, consisting of 3 Trumpets, 2 French Horns, 2 Trombones and 1 Tuba, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection for various Quintets and Octets and are readily available. If you should decide to purchase this arrangement of the Russian Dance, I would highly encourage you to also consider purchasing the arrangement of the March as well. Scheduling the March followed by the Russian Dance would be a very satisfying addition to any concert or recital. Please take the time to look for other versions of these compositions. You may find something else that might also suit your needs.I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as there are numerous selections in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. Score and parts. 43 pages. Regis Bookshar #6612541. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813873). Brass Octet - Advanced/Intermediate - . This marvelous arrangement of the March from Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky's extremely popular, The Nutcracker Suite, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts and recitals but would be most appropriate during the Holiday season. This selection has been arranged to keep all of the intensity and excitement of the original composition and is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (43 pages). The suite became instantly popular with almost every number encored at its premiere.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could also have the opportunity to play some of these wonderful compositions, originally scored for a full orchestra, and has arranged two of the selections, the popular March and the Russian Dance for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. So, in addition to this version of the March for a Brass Octet, consisting of 4 Trumpets, 1 French Horn, 2 Trombones and 1 Tuba, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection for various Quintets and Octets and are readily available. If you should decide to purchase this arrangement of the March, I would highly encourage you to also consider purchasing the arrangement of the Russian Dance as well.
