The Preußischer Präsentiermarsch (Prussian Inspection March), also known as the Präsentiermarsch Friedrich Wilhelms III., is a German military march composed by Frederick William III of Prussia sometime around 1820. A traditional inspection march used in every German military since the mid-19th century, this is the traditional inspection and colors presentation march of the German Federal Armed Forces, the Bundeswehr. It is also played during visits by foreign leaders to Germany by the Staff Band of the Bundeswehr (German: Stabsmusikkorps der Bundeswehr) during arrival honors ceremonies. It is also a favorite piece of German marching bands, played in civil functions and parades. In Bolivia this has become the standard marchpast piece of the Bolivian Navy, but adapted in slow time.

This arrangement adapted for brass quartet was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, in order to be performed by young music students who want to enter the symphonic music. Besides, it can also be used by professional musicians for recitals, repertoire, academic presentations and didactic material. The transcription remains faithful to the structure, with only one change in tone, so that it is comfortable for all the instruments in the formation, as well as being used as an activity in ensemble practice among musicians of different traditions. Beethoven's Turkish March (Op. 113) is the 4th movement of the operatic work: The Ruins of Athens, a set of incidental pieces written in 1812 by Ludwig van Beethoven, where the melody was originally written in 1809 as Theme with Six Variations for Piano, Op. 76. The work was written to accompany the play of the same name by August von Kotzebue, for the dedication of a new theater in Pest. Perhaps the best known part of the composition is the Marcia alla turca, In Latin America, this movement became known in Jean-Jacques Perrey's version (who titled it The Elephant never Forgets) since it was used as the opening theme of the successful Mexican TV comedy El Chavo del Ocho. The opening and the turkish march are often performed separately, and the other pieces in this set are not often heard.

Diego Marani #3003951. Published by Diego Marani (A0.527600). Entrance of the Gladiators op. 68 or Entry of the Gladiators is a military march composed in 1897 by the Czech composer Julius FucÃk. He originally titled it Grande Marche Chromatique, reflecting the use of chromatic scales throughout the piece, but changed the title based on his personal interest in the Roman Empire.In 1901, American publisher Carl Fischer published a version of this march, arranged for American wind bands by Canadian composer Louis-Philippe Laurendeau, under the title Thunder and Blazes. It was during this period that the song gained lasting popularity as a screamer march for circuses, often used to introduce clowns. Today it is known mainly by this association, even though the title and composer are relatively obscure. Grafulla (1810–1880) was a composer in the United States during the 19th Century, most noted for martial music for brass bands during the Civil War. Grafulla composed Washington Grays in 1861 for the 8th Regiment, New York State Militia. This work has been called a march masterpiece, a band classic, and the prototype of the concert march. Showing the stylistic influence of both German and Italian marches, the march has a marvelous balance of technique and melody in a continuous flow of musical ideas.

As much as it is a funeral march, it is well suited for any musical performance occasion. The transcription is faithful to the structure, with only one change of key, so that it is comfortable for all the instruments in the formation, as well as for use in ensemble practice between musicians of different traditions. Ludwig van Beethoven began concentrated work on his Symphony No. 7 in A major Op. 92 in 1811, it was completed in 1812, and was dedicated to Count Moritz von Fries, and premiered in Vienna on December 8, 1813. It is considered a remarkable example of the more ebullient side of Beethoven's compositional personality and evidence that even after the onset of deafness, he still found cause for musical optimism. The second movement Allegretto is a funeral march in everything but name. Often several contrasting melodic ideas are made to coexist, as if Beethoven were imagining several processions converging on the cemetery at the same time. As he was working on this symphony during the years of the Napoleonic Wars, this experience was probably within his experience. It was also used as the soundtrack to the film Knowing, by director Alex Proyas and starring Nicolas Cage, where it is used in the final scene of the film. Beethoven called Symphony No. 7 his most excellent symphony, and a music critic of the time reported, this symphony is the most melodically rich and the most pleasing and comprehensible of all Beethoven's symphonies..

The British Grenadiers is a traditional marching song of British, Australian and Canadian military units whose badge of identification features a grenade, the tune of which dates from the 17th century. It is the Regimental Quick March of the Royal Artillery (since 1716), Corps of Royal Engineers (since 1787), the Honourable Artillery Company (since 1716), Grenadier Guards 'The First (later 'Grenadier') Regiment of Foot Guards' (since 1763), and the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers (since 1763). This arrangement adapted for brass quartet was designed to make its listeners weep with emotion, because the adaptation preserves the original essence of the work, keeping its integrity faithful to what Beethoven wanted to transmit, with only a slight change in tone and addition of harmonic resources in the structure of the arrangement. Even though it is a funeral march, it is well suited for any musical performance occasion, being intended for beginner students who want to immerse themselves in the universe of romantic music, and nothing better than starting with the transitional composer of this period, which also does not prevent professional teachers from using it for recitals, academic presentations or didactic material in their classes as an ensemble practice. Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14 in C minor sharp, Op. 27, No. 2, is one of his most popular compositions and was an audience favorite even in his day. Written when Beethoven was 31, the Moonlight Sonata (Mondscheinsonate in German) was composed after he finished some commissioned works, but there is no evidence that he was hired to write this work. It did not receive its nickname until 1832, five years after Beethoven's death. It was the critic Ludwig Rellstab who compared the music to a moonlighting on Lake Lucerne. This comparison was adopted as a nickname for the work. Called Quasi una fantasia by the author - like its companion Op. 27, No. 1 - the piece was completed in 1801 and dedicated the following year to one of the composer's pupils. Beethoven chose to open the sonata with a slow, hypnotic arpeggio movement, the best known of the entire work. The dotted rhythm of its minimal melody evokes the tradition of 'Trauermusik' (funeral music).

Blest Mary Walks Amid the Thorn (Maria durch ein’ Dornwald ging) is a German folk carol that is thought to date to the 16th century. It first appears in print in 1850 as a pilgrimage song, having been spread orally in the traditionally Catholic state of Thuringia, a densely forested area in central Germany. In the 20th century, the song became popular in a version relating the story of Mary, the expectant mother of Jesus, on her journey to visit her cousin, Elizabeth. The text uses the popular Medieval symbol of the rose for the Virgin Mary and speaks of roses blooming on barren thorn-wood as Mary bears her child through the forest. Past Three O'Clock (or Past Three A Clock) is a Christmas carol loosely based on the traditional cry of the city night watchman, set to the English traditional tune, London Waits.The tune and refrain have been known since the Renaissance, and both were possibly used by London's waits (also waites or waytes). According to the Encyclopaedia Brittanica (1911):The earliest waits (those of the 14th and 15th centuries) were simply watchmen who sounded horns or even played a tune on a flute or flageolet to mark the hours. This appears to have been known as 'piping the watch....' The duties of the London waits, which included playing before the mayor during his annual progress through the streets and at city dinners, seem to have been typical of all 16th- and 17th-century city waits. The London waits had a special uniform of blue gowns with red sleeves and caps, and wore a silver collar or chain round the neck. In the 18th and early 19th century the ordinary street watchmen appear to have arrogated to themselves the right to serenade householders at Christmas time, calling round on Boxing Day to receive a gratuity for their tunefulness as well as their watchfulness. Italian-born organist and composer Pietro Yon (1886-1943) wrote the anthem Gesu Bambino in 1917 while engaged as organist at St. Francis Xavier Church in Manhattan, New York, and as organ instructor and co-director (with his brother, Constantino) of the Yon Music Studios, a conservatory for liturgical musicians at New York’s Carnegie Hall.Yon was an acclaimed organist, later holding positions as Titular Organist of the Vatican and Music Director of St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York. He supervised installations of organs at both St. Patrick’s and Carnegie Hall. He was an influential teacher as well, with students occupying positions as organists and music directors at prominent churches in New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Grand Rapids, Dallas, Salt Lake City, and more.Yon was among the most important composers of sacred music for the Roman Catholic Church in the first half of the twentieth century, writing 21 masses, numerous motets, and various other sacred works. In addition, he wrote works for solo organ and solo piano, songs, chamber music, and orchestral compositions including several concertos.
