There seems to be a dearth of literature for brass quintet that addresses the folk songs of Israel. ? Mazel Tov! ? is an arrangement of several of these folk tunes. Included are: Chusen Kala Mazel Tov, Avinu Malkenu, Hasidic Waltz, Dodi Li, I have a Little Dreidel, Hatikvah and Hava Nagilla. Arranging this piece was a way for me to research and hear most of this music for the first time. It is very playable and a nice addition to any program. I hope you enjoy playing it. Sweeter the bells never sound a well-known German Christmas carol dating from the 19th century. The text is written to the German theologian and educator Friedrich Wilhelm Kritzinger (1816-1890). The melody comes from a Thuringian folk song before 1826. The song creates a hopeful and healing atmosphere. The bell sound is a symbol of peace, joy and Christmas joy. This arrangement goes through different styles and atmospheres and features every instrument. Instrumentation: Tpt 1/2 in Bb, Horn in F, Trombone, Tuba

California Girls This is a song written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love for the American rock band, the Beach Boys featured on their 1965 album Summer Days. Wilson conceived the song during his first acid trip, later arranging and producing the song's recording. Upon its release as a single, "California Girls" reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song is considered emblematic of the 1960s Californian Sound. It is arranged for brass quintet. I have transposed it into Bb, a less problematic key, for playing the bass riff, which is shared amongst tuba, trombone and horn. The melody is shared amongst the 4 upper instruments, and I have given interesting harmony parts to the others, rather than following the melodic line. Hope you enjoy it.

What A Wonderful World by George David Weiss and Bob Thiele, arranged by Craig Garner for Brass Quintet. The hopeful and optimistic words of this song were intended as an antidote for the climate of increasing racial and political divide in the US during the late 1960's. The song was specifically written for Louis Armstrong because of his ability to bring together people from different races. Since that time, the song has become a standard, also appearing in TV and film. This arrangement comes with a full score and set of parts: 2 B-flat trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba.
