Bernard Scherr has arranged six lovely Portuguese Folksongs for Brass Quintet entitled:

2. A Pastorinha (The Shepherdess) - a lovely andantino

3. O Xi-Xi (Wee-wee) - a silly song

4. O ai, o linda! (Oh, the beauty!) - a lyrical romance

5. Coradinha (The blushing one) - a dance-like jaunt

6. Carro amaricano (American Car) - driving around in the auto

These movements are of contrasting styles and will make a lovely addition to your program.

Instrumentation is for 2 Trumpets in B-flat, Horn, Trombone & Tuba.

A funny version ofthe famous christmas song "Jingle Bells", arranged by Austrian arrangerAugustin Lehfuss and was originally written for the German"Rennquintett", whose members used to perform it on their christmasshows. "Oberkrain" is an remote area somewhere in the Austrian and Slowenian alps, which has created a special style of folk music, which is quite popular in the eastern alpine regions This arrangment is part of a series of 5arrangements of "jingle bells" for brass quintet, which are alsoavailable here on SMP ( also in a swinging, a chinese, a french waltz and alatin style), but wiith a length of just 75 seconds it will serve well as anencore number played alone. see also the other 4 Arrangements in this serie,which can be found at the same publisher�s appearance here on SMP.

Right after James Horner wrote the gigantic hit charting Titanic soundtrack he started composing his eponymous The Mask of Zorro. Clocking around the 74 minutes its one of the longer productions from his side. You will recognize his motifs, but in this case these are combined with Hispanic folklore and flamenco. He also composed a song for Marc Anthony and Australian singer Tina Arena called ?I Want to Spend My Lifetime Loving You?, charting both in the French and Dutch hit lists. James? elegant music and wonderful themes bringing the storyline of the movie to higher regions.

The Mask of Zorro is a 1998 American film based on the character of the masked vigilante Zorro, portrayed in this movie by Antonio Banderas. The film also stars Anthony Hopkins, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Stuart Wilson. The Mask of Zorro was released to critical and commercial success.
