Published by Will Corbin (A0.1461378). My dad heard this song playing as background music for some TV show. He suggested it as a quintet piece (he liked us mostly because we played some of his favorite Dixieland tunes). The result is, well, at least a little bit weird. The original haunting Pat Metheny recording was played on electric sitar, with a high-speed snare drum providing train effect. I wanted to achieve the same thing, so the horns take care of it throughout the piece (with tuba providing it from start to finish). And the song needed a train horn for effect. I wanted to know what chord a train whistle blew, and the Internet told me it was a ninth chord. The song has alternatively been known as Ain' go'n' to study war no mo', Ain't Gwine to Study War No More, Down by de Ribberside, Going to Pull My War-Clothes and Study war no more This spiritual song is arranged for Brass quintet i.e. 2 Trumpets in B Flat, French Horn in F; Trombone/ Euphonium and Tuba and Optional Drum Set. The level is Advanced Intermediate and the duration is 2.39minutes.
