The opera was a graduation work for the Moscow Conservatory, winning the highest prizes from the judges that year. Although the music is heavily influenced by the great Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff shows that he is quite capable of walking in his own shoes.The dramatic music Two Dances has been beautifully arranged by Charles Decker for traditional Brass Quintet (Trumpet I in B-flat/Piccolo Trumpet, Trumpet II in B-flat, Horn, Trombone and Tuba.) Va Pensiero, the great chorus from Verdi's opera Nabucco is also known as The Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves, retelling the biblical story of the Babylonian captivity of the Jewish people after the destruction of the First Temple in Jerusalem in 586 BCE. Italian patriots who were seeking to unify their country and free it from foreign control found the hymn very moving. The music was performed as a cortege in the streets of Milan after the composer's death. Mr. Drei's beautiful arrangement is appropriate for moderately advanced performers and is about 4 minutes in length. Parts are supplied for C and B-flat Trumpets.

E lucevan le stelle (And the stars were shining) is a romantic aria from the third act of Puccini's opera Tosca, written in 1900. It is sung in Act 3 by Mario Cavaradossi (tenor), a painter who is awaiting his execution and in love with the singer Tosca. (Wikipedia).
This aria is one of the most beloved in all the operatic repertoire and has been captured beautifully in a lovely arrangement for brass quintet by Vikention Gionanidis. The music is appropriate for advanced performers.

Bass Trombonist Nir Fishkin has artfully arranged 10 Melodious Etudes for Brass Quintet which are suitable for moderately advanced performers. The arrangements spread the melody around between the five parts.

Giacomo Puccini composed Crisantemi (Chrysanthemums) for string quartet in one overnight sitting in January of 1890 after hearing of the unexpected death of his close friend Amadeo di Savoia, the former King of Spain. This poignant 6-minute elegy, an early work, soon afterwards shows up in Puccini's first great opera, Manon Lescaut. The white chrysanthemum is traditionally brought to the cemetery to mourn loved ones in Italy and other European countries.Appropriate for moderately advanced performers and beautifully scored by Cory Mixdorf for brass quintet of 2 Trumpets in B-flat, Horn, Trombone and Tuba.

This arrangement adapted for brass quintet was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, that is, inspiring and significant to the already known choral symphony by Beethoven, indicated to be performed by young music students, who want to enter the symphonic music, moreover, it can also be used by professional musicians, for recitals, repertoire, academic presentations and didactic material. As much as it is a funeral march, it is well suited for any musical performance occasion. The transcription is faithful to the structure, with only one change in key, so that it is comfortable for all instruments in the formation, thus maintaining the essence of the striking melody, as well as using it for ensemble practice among musicians of different traditions.Beethoven's Ninth Symphony Op. 125 incorporates part of the poem An die Freude (To Joy), a hymn written by Friedrich Schiller, with the text sung by soloists and a choir in its last movement. It was the first example of a major composer using the human voice as prominently as the instruments in a symphony, thus creating a far-reaching work that set the tone for the symphonic form that was to be adopted by Romantic composers. This is the last complete symphony composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. The choral symphony, better known as the Ninth Symphony or The Ninth, is one of the best known works in the Western repertoire, considered both an icon and predecessor of Romantic music, and one of Beethoven's great masterpieces, where it was first performed on May 7, 1824, the same year it was completed, at the Kärntnertortheater in Vienna, Austria. The conductor was Michael Umlauf, the theater's music director, and Beethoven - dissuaded from conducting by the advanced stage of his deafness - was given a special place on the stage next to the conductor. It was later rearranged by Herbert von Karajan to become the anthem of the European Union in 1972, the national anthem of Rhodesia from 1974 until 1979, Rise, O Voices of Rhodesia, used the tune Ode to Joy..
