This is certainly a rousing example. The melody is shared between the 1st Trumpet, Horn and Trombone/Euphonium (Parts 1,3 and 5) as the different singers take their 'verse'. Although he grew up in poor circumstances his extraordinary musical talent was soon recognized and he received organ lessons, then – assisted by a patron – he entered the Busseto Gymnasium.Scored here for Brass Quintet, his setting of the “ Pater Noster “ is a lovely piece originally written for five part vocal. Va Pensiero, the great chorus from Verdi's opera Nabucco is also known as The Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves, retelling the biblical story of the Babylonian captivity of the Jewish people after the destruction of the First Temple in Jerusalem in 586 BCE. Italian patriots who were seeking to unify their country and free it from foreign control found the hymn very moving. The music was performed as a cortege in the streets of Milan after the composer's death. Mr. Drei's beautiful arrangement is appropriate for moderately advanced performers and is about 4 minutes in length. Parts are supplied for C and B-flat Trumpets.

This Americana brass band era two-movement virtuoso solo for E-flat cornet or trumpet from 1871 features a quintet trumpeter accompanied by traditional brass band instruments B-flat cornet, E-flat alto horn, baritone/euphonium and tuba. Included is alternate B-flat cornet for the E-flat solo cornet, alternate B-flat cornet for E-flat alto horn, alternate F horn for E-flat alto horn, and trombone can substitute for baritone/euphonium. The sound file is an actual brass quintet performance of the entire arrangement and not a computer playback of the score.
