Edward Alexander MacDowell (December 18, 1860 ? January 23, 1908) was an American composer and pianist of the late Romantic period. He was best known for his second piano concerto and his piano suites Woodland Sketches, Sea Pieces and New England Idylls. Woodland Sketches includes his most popular short piece, "To a Wild Rose".

This is possibly my most prized arrangement for solo classical guitar of all. This is the entire piece as Gounod composed it, minus the very beginning intro, but including the portion of the intro where the 6/8 count begins. Although advanced, the fingerings, barre markings and string designations are all shown in each of the complicated areas and worked out very smartly for the smoothest transitioning, possible.

This well known piece from the movie "Meet Me In St Louis" is beautiful when played on a solo guitar. Its not a demanding arrangement and can be learned quite easily.

I often lean more towards making something idiomatic for guitar rather than complete historical accuracy, and this piece is no different. IMSLP is the best place to go if you are really looking for the originals. The melody seems to be intact, but I take some liberties with the harmony to make it flow well on guitar. This version also only has the main theme. Also, since I make these primarily as a learning tool, making a super lengthy full version is not ideal. 1. Guitar tablature added. 2.
