The Folk Uke series offers a musical "construction kit" for traditional folk songs. Each song begins with the vocal part set for medium voice with chords for ukulele. This is followed by a fingerstyle accompaniment and a ukulele solo with introduction and coda. These different parts can be assembled in different ways, for example, very simply, with voice and strummed chords, or more elaborately: intro, verse 1 with chords, verse 2 fingerstyle, followed by the solo, then verse 3, etc. Or you could use the resources for an instrumental only, playing the solo, followed by the fingerstyle accompaniment as a variation. Or play a duet, with uke 1 playing the melody and uke 2 playing chords or fingerstyle accompaniment. Sing Ivy is a traditional song with many variants around England.
