The title of this collection was inspired by the words found in Psalm 150 verse 4: ?Praise Him with stringed instruments?? (KJV)

This collection contains 10 favorite hymns arranged as easy instrumental trios (for two VIOLINS with PIANO accompaniment). From flowing and peaceful to upbeat and festive, these arrangements are a welcome addition to the repertoire for beginning string students. These familiar hymn arrangements are equally enjoyed whether used for recitals, worship services, or to make practicing more interesting.

All notes for both VIOLIN parts in each song are playable in the first position making these arrangements an excellent choice for early-intermediate string players. For each song, there is a combined score (grand staff) with all parts on each page (VIOLIN 1, VIOLIN 2, and PIANO) plus a separate 1-staff score for each VIOLIN part and also a PIANO only score.

Funeral March for a Marionette is,perhaps, composer Charles Gounod's most famous composition. This is largelybecause it was used as the theme song of the popular 1950s television series AlfredHitchkok Presents.

Gounod wrote the piece in 1872. Thepiece, originally for piano, describes the story of a marionette who is killedin a duel. In the original score, Gounod included comments in French matchingthe action in the story to the music:

· La Marionnette est cassée!!!(The marionette is broken!!!)

· Murmure de regrets de la troupe(Murmurs of regret from the troupe)

· Le Cortège (The procession)

· Ici plusieurs des principaux personnages de la troupes'arrêtent pour se rafraîchir (Here many of the principalpersonages stop for refreshments)

· Retour à la maison (Return to the house)
