This deeply moving hymn is arranged as an instrumental trio (for two VIOLINS with PIANO accompaniment). Verse 1 and 3 are the same with VIOLIN 1 playing the melody. Verse 2 is slower and quieter with the two VIOLINS alternating leading with the melody. The piano provides a flowing, delicate accompaniment throughout. After a faith-building experience when Georg Neumark claimed the promise found in Psalm 55:22, he wrote the lyrics to this song: If you but trust in God to guide you and place your confidence in him, you'll find him always there beside you to give you hope and strength within…. The range for each part is as follows: VIOLIN 1 – F#4 to B5; VIOLIN 2 – F#4 to G5. All notes for both VIOLINS are playable in the first position making this arrangement an excellent choice for early-intermediate string players. The PIANO accompaniment is written for an intermediate player. Published by Connie Boss (A0.1323447). I have always loved Scarborough Fair. I needed to do something a little different than the Simon and Garfunkel version which is very iconic. I also wanted to use the melody for a Christmas song. I thought about how close We Three Kings was in places and decided it was a great song to do a combo with. This version is for violin duet and piano. I have this in all kind of version including a men's version and SATB as well. I have version of just duet and piano and then with choir or with strings as well. Parts are included with this purchase. I hope you enjoy the mysterious sounding music.
