This Korean Simple Suite is consist of 5 movements. 1.Prologue-Greeting 2.Oriental Flute 3.Cheerfulness 4.Sorrow 5.Finale-Festival. All piece's main theme is generally based on Oriental pentatonic tone, And for 2nd movement, there is especially natural harmonics is used for special tone effect, to express oriental flute sound. and for 3rd movement, adapted Korean Traditional rhythm, for example, such as Kutkuri Jajinmori. 4th movement is Major key, but has deep sorrow. For Finale, Rondo form is used, and Korean Traditional Children's song is adapted as main Theme. Kim has formerly been concertmaster of Daegu City Sym. Orchestra as well as for the Michigan State University Orchestra. He was an advising professor for the Czech Republic’s Dobřichovice International Music Camp, and now Korean Suzuki Association. Since 2004, his compositions have been periodically performed by I Musici. His compositions have also been performed and recorded by the Vienna Waltz Orchestra, in Austria, the French Chamber Orchestra in France, and the Sophia Chamber Orchestra in Russia. Mr. Kim is a former Dean of Changwon National University’s College of Performing Arts. Currently he teaches student as Emeritus professor of Changwon National University.

The northern 10 tribes, once faithful to Yahweh were virtually pagan. The prophetic ministries of Elijah and Elisha were used by God to produce a cluster of miracles that had a special purpose in the life of the nation. ♫ Besides the golden calves made by Jeroboam, the Israelites worshiped Ba’al, the supposed god of thunderstorms and fertility. The worship of Ba’al and his consort Asherah became popular, (not surprising since their representations were pornographic and the temples employed prostitutes of both genders and homosexuals for the use of worshippers.) The miracles of Elijah (involving drought and famine, flour, rain, and lightning mark a contest between Ba’al and Yahweh to show who really controls the seasons, the weather and harvests.♫ The movement is made of 4 themes: 1. Ahab – Polytonal (G Mixolydian over F Mixolydian) 2.The Mercy of God (Aeolian Mode) 3. Elijah - Polytonal (G Mixolydian / F Mixolydian) 4. Famine Theme (G Mixolydian over F Mixolydian). For the first time in 3 years, Elijah prays for rain. In the following rainstorm, Elijah outruns Ahab’s chariot returning to Samaria. But the next morning it seems as if nothing has happened. Jezebel still has her 400 prophets. She sends a message to Elijah that he will be killed.♫ Elijah is discouraged and defeated. Did Mt Carmel really mean nothing? He runs for the wilderness, complaining to God. He is so disheartened that he asks God to take his life. He makes a pilgrimage to Mt Horeb where Moses received the Law, fasting for 40 days, still complaining. He yearns for God to answer him. As at Mt Carmel, God had demonstrated His power at Sinai with thunderstorm and lightning. Elijah is evidently expecting large dramatic gestures for God to reveal Himself. But now God will teach Elijah that He also acts in ordinary, quiet ways, as will his continued ministry♫ 8 Themes were used to create this movement: 1. Ahab (based on Movement 2, theme 3) 2. Carmel is the ultimate contest between Ba’al and Yahweh. From morning until nearly sunset the 450 prophets of Ba’al did everything humanly possible to get Baal to show himself as the god of thunderstorms and fertility as the people of Israel watched. They even cut themselves to add human blood to the animal sacrifice. At twilight, Elijah rebuilt the altar of God, prepared the sacrifice and prayed. Fire from heaven (lightning) not only struck the altar but consumed it completely and evaporated the water that had drenched it. The people fell on their faces and declared “Yahweh is God! ♫ This movement is based on four themes: 1. God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Lydian Mode) 2. Elijah (Dorian Mode) 3. Ahab (Mixolydian) 4. Published by edition Prima Vista - Uri A. Dror (A0.956104). Bartok's Romanian Dances were originally written for piano. He later arranged them himself for a small ensemble. The version usually heard today, however, is the one by Zoltan Szekely, who transcribed them for violin and piano. The current arrangement is based on Szekely’s version. Bela Bartok was a keen collector and researcher of Romanian and Hungarian folk music, and came across these tunes on his expeditions to uncover the folk music of Transylvania. They were probably played on a violin or a folk-style shepherd's flute - which makes them very suitable for the recorder, either a soprano (in one case, a sopranino), or an alto. The recorder part of this arrangement can also be played on a flute / piccolo flute.
