String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1374400 Composed by Carl Maria von Weber. Arranged by Paul Wood. Romantic Period. 66 pages. MyMusicScores.com #959004. Published by MyMusicScores.com (A0.1374400). Carl Maria von Weber, composed the Andante e Rondo Ongarese, Op. 35, initially for viola and orchestra in 1809. Later, in 1813, Weber reworked the piece for bassoon and orchestra following the success of his Bassoon Concerto. The work consists of two movements, seamlessly interconnected yet contrasting in character. The first movement, Andante, set in the somber key of C minor, unfolds with a lyrical and expressive quality. Weber's use of the viola allows for a rich exploration of the instrument's capabilities, revealing both its melodic and expressive qualitiesThe second movement, Allegretto, in key of C major, introducing a lively and spirited theme. The playful and dance-like character of the rondo is enriched by Weber's use of Hungarian elements, reflecting the influence of the popular ongaresque style in European music during the early 19th century. The rhythmic vitality and infectious energy of this movement contribute to the overall charm of the composition. The PDF file contains the score and all parts.

Rondo in Bb for String Orchestra

String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.812111 Composed by Wolfgang A…

String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.812111 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Laura Chegwidden. Classical,Concert,Graduation,Wedding. Score and Parts. 46 pages. Laura Chegwidden #3558843. Published by Laura Chegwidden (A0.812111). Mozart is one of the most famous composers to have ever lived. His Rondo in Bb for Violin and Orchestra (KV 269) is an energetic work that was requested by violinist Antonio Brunetti. Probably written between 1775 and 1777, Mozart would have been in his early 20s when he wrote this. This arrangement is for String Orchestra, and reflects the textures and voicings of the original orchestration. Rondo in Bb is a fun and vibrant piece that reflects Mozart's youth and vivacity, and would be perfect for weddings, schools, churches and any other performance opportunities that arise for the professional or amateur musician. The arrangement goes for approx. 6 min. This purchase includes a score and parts for all performers; violin 1, violin 2, viola, cello, and double bass. It would work best for players of an intermediate to advanced level. It is set in the key of Bb major, which is the original key. Laura Chegwidden is a pianist, cellist, double bassist and singer from Toowoomba Australia. She recently graduated with distinction from the University of Newcastle with a B.MUS majoring in Cello and Composition. For more arrangements like this one or for any questions you can contact Laura through her facebook page or website: www.facebook.com/lchegmusic/ lchegmusic.com

String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.924852 Composed by Stanley M. Hoffman. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 36 pages. Stanleymhoffman.com #3913641. Published by stanleymhoffman.com (A0.924852). This is one of the most important and original pieces in the composer's catalog. It was begun in 2001 and completed from sketches in 2018. The composer began it as an elegy to both his father and to the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, but since it was completed so much later, he removed that dedication from the performance materials. The mood is nevertheless deeply sad and piercingly poignant. The musical language is 12-tone, but is loaded with minor triads/trichords tinged with dissonances and contextual resolutions, most of which sound like suspended fourths. Duration: 7:00.

String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1183534 Composed by Joseph Bo…

String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1183534 Composed by Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de St. Georges. Arranged by Robert Debbaut. Classical,Contest,Festival,Historic,Multicultural,World. 28 pages. ROBERT DEBBAUT #783207. Published by ROBERT DEBBAUT (A0.1183534). How is it that one can be born a slave in French colonial Guadeloupe and rise to be among Paris’ musical giants, to become a colonel in the French Army as well as the frequent dinner guest of princes and potentates? The story of Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, is surely an interesting one, even the stuff of which movies are made.Joseph Bologne’s father, Georges Bologne de Saint-Georges was a French planter. Saint-Georges was the name of his plantation. He impregnated Anne, the Senegalese slave of his wife, who bore him a son in 1745. Uncharacteristic of many of these sort of relationships he acknowledged the child was his and gave him his family name. When he was seven Bologne’s father took him to Paris for his education, enrolling him in a boarding school. Two years later he and the child’s mother returned to France and set up housekeeping as a family in Paris’ Saint-Germain-des-Prés district. At age thirteen Joseph’s father enrolled him in the Royal Technical Academy of Fencing and Swordsmanship. He quickly became the finest swordsman in the academy, perhaps in all of Paris. Upon graduation he was made an Officer of the King’s Bodyguard and a chevalier (an honorary knighthood). He went on to serve tours of duty in the French Army during the Seven Years War (1756-1763) and later after the French Revolution, where he was Colonel and commander of an all-Black regiment of the Revolutionary Army. All this in spite of the fact that French law forbade him, a man of African heritage, to become a citizen, to retain his father’s royal title of “Gentleman of the King’s Chamber,†or to marry outside his class. There is limited information about Bologne’s musical training, but he was obviously so well-skilled that Italian violinist-composer Antonio Lolli (1725-1802) wrote two violin concertos for him and French composer François-Joseph Gossec (1734-1829) dedicated his set of String Trios, Op. 9 to Bologne. Lolli may have worked with him on violin technique and Gossec composition, but this may be apocryphal. Bologne played in Gossec’s orchestra, and was later both leader and conductor of the group. As a composer Joseph Bologne was quite prolific, composing six operas, fourteen violin concertos, four symphonies concertantes, and numerous chamber works and songs. His Six String Quartets, Op. 1, Nos. 1-6 date from 1770-1771 and were published by the Paris publishing house of Jean-Georges Sieber (1738-1822) in 1773 (There are a total of 18 quartets: Six Quartets “au goût du jour†[up-to-date] from 1779 and the Opus 14 set of six which date from 1785). The Opus 1 quartets are dedicated to Anne Louis Alexandre de Montmorency (1724-1812), 7th Prince of Robeck (Robecq) and Grand Duke of Spain. The Opus 1 quartets all display a similarity to the Italian opera overtures from earlier in the Eighteenth Century (often called “sinfoniaâ€) in that they have an overall “A-B-A†form with the ‘A’ sections being robust allegros and all ‘B’ sections marked “rondo.†As such, in arranging them for string orchestra it seemed quite natural to rename them “overtures.†Certain liberties were taken by the arranger in order to maintain the integrity of the classic Rondo formula. All six have been arranged in this manner for string orchestra. They vary in length from twelve to almost twenty minutes. If you wish to obtain parts, write to debbaut@gmail.com and pay $42 via venmo or $40 via personal check and they will be sent to you in pdf format.

String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1202559 Composed by W. A. Mozart (1756 – 1791). Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Classical,Contest,Festival,Standards. Score and parts. 125 pages. Jmsgu3 #800938. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1202559). Sonata No. 6, “Durnitz†for String OrchestraScore and performance parts:  Score: 66 pages. Duration: ca. 29:28 Mozart's Sonata in D major, K. 284, also known as the Durnitz Sonata, is a solo piano piece composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1775. It is one of Mozart's more complex and ambitious sonatas and is generally regarded as one of his greatest works for the instrument. The sonata is divided into three movements:1.   Allegro - The first movement is a fast-paced and energetic sonata-allegro form, characterized by its lively theme and virtuosic passages. The movement begins with a bold and dramatic opening statement, followed by a series of contrasting themes and variations. The development section explores new harmonic and rhythmic territory, while the recapitulation brings the movement full circle with a restatement of the main themes.2.   Rondeau en Polonaise - The second movement is a graceful and elegant rondo in the style of a polonaise, a popular dance of the time. The main theme is a lilting melody that is first presented by the right hand and then repeated with variations throughout the movement. The middle section features a contrasting theme in a minor key, which is then developed and expanded upon in the latter half of the movement.3.   Theme and Variations - The final movement is a set of six variations on a theme, which is introduced at the beginning of the movement. Each variation explores a different aspect of the theme, from playful embellishments to dramatic flourishes. The final variation brings the piece to a rousing and triumphant close.Overall, Mozart's Sonata in D major, K. 284, is a masterful example of the composer's virtuosity and innovation and remains a beloved and influential work in the piano repertoire. Mozart's Sonata in D major, K. 284 is also known as the Dürnitz Sonata because it is believed to have been composed for Count Johann Joseph Anton von Dürnitz, an accomplished amateur flautist who was a patron of Mozart.Mozart was in Munich in 1775, and he met Dürnitz there. According to Mozart's letters to his father, Dürnitz played the flute very well, and Mozart was impressed by his abilities. It is believed that Mozart composed this sonata specifically for Dürnitz, who may have performed it with Mozart accompanying him on the piano. No concrete evidence supports the theory that the sonata was named after Dürnitz, but it is widely accepted as the most likely explanation for the nickname. In any case, the sonata remains one of Mozart's most popular and beloved works for solo piano.

The work is in three movements. The first movement, “Introduction and Allegro†begins with an introductory passage which leads to an extended cadenza. The allegro uses a contrasting set of two themes, one of which is syncopated and dancelike, the other which is lyrical and expressive. The Aria which follows is in an ABA lied form with extended passage work for the soloist at the return of the theme. The Rondo-finale is a rollicking scherzo which is presented in a variety of forms, first in the saxophone and then in the violins, after several developmental passages and a final cadenza, returns to end the work with a final flourish. A reduction for alto saxophone is avaialble as a different item. The orchestral parts are available on rentel from the publisher.

Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533281). I. Highland Ballad (Scotland)II. Ceremonial (Nigeria)III. Circle Dance (America)Folk Fantasies (2013) for solo violin, percussion, and string orchestra is a concert piece inspiredby folk traditions. Although this work draws upon folk music styles, it does not quote or use anyactual folk tunes or material directly. For each of the three movements, I began by composingan “original folk tune†within that musical style. Each movement of the work is then a simplearrangement in my own musical style of my original tunes. The formal and harmonic languageof the work is very simple, direct, and uncluttered throughout, as is appropriate for folk music. The first movement, Highland Ballad (Scotland), begins and ends with lyrical music. The middlesections contain settings of the basic melody—first presented over a bagpipe-like drone (withinterjections) and then in a full harmonization. The second movement, Ceremonial (Nigeria), combines a harmonic refrain along with a simplemelody in the Nigerian/Yoruba folk style. As the movement progresses, the violin plays the roleof a song-leader, adding increasingly impassioned countermelodies and textures over the basicrefrains. The third movement, Circle Dance (America), is jubilant—alluding to the songs of the Shakers. Abasic rondo structure alternates the principal melody with contrasting excursions. The set contains the score and solo part only. This score, solo part and complete orchestral parts for 43221 are available as a seperate item.

Published by Kevin Price (A0.965600). I would like to present my first string orchestra, Walk Among The Gods. It includes a director's score, as well as individual parts for Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Violoncello, and Contrabass. This composition is centered around Greek Mythology by highlighting a different character in each movement; Aphrodite, Hades, Kronos and Zeus.Aphrodite: Dance With The Goddess of Love is written as a Polonaise (Polish dance) in a Rondo format. This movement is taken at an Andante.Hades: March to the Underworld is a haunting march written in G minor. I composed this in cut time at an Allegro Moderato. This is definitely my favorite of all four movements. Kronos: The God of Time is comprised of many different time signatures to go along with its meaning; 5/4, 6/8, 12/8, 4/4, 6/4, 3/8 and 3/4. Zeus: King of the Gods is meant to create a regal, but triumphant feel as the finale. I also had fun writing a good portion of this movement pizzicato. Enjoy!
