String Orchestra - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1432036 By Juan Maria Solare. By Juan Maria Solare. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Historic,Instructional. 8 pages. Juan Maria Solare #1012516. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.1432036). Orchestraining is a cycle of orchestral studies, each focusing on different aspects of performance. These studies are specifically designed for non-professional orchestras, although any orchestra will improve by playing some of these pieces during rehearsals. It is always necessary to pay attention to intonation and many other aspects of orchestral performance. In addition, these studies are also useful for orchestral conducting students. For example, it is essential to know how to conduct a simultaneous attack of a chord that does not begin on the first beat, but a eighth note after the third beat.I began writing these studies around 2013, when I took over the direction of the Bremer Orchestergemeinschaft and noticed the complete absence of repertoire of this kind. As a pianist, I am accustomed to studies by Carl Czerny or playing scales. Each individual instrumentalist knows studies of technique for their instrument. However, there are no, or at least I am not aware of, similar studies for orchestral performance technique and the specific difficulties of ensemble playing that it requires. The cycle Orchestraining aims to fill this gap.The sixth etude focuses on the difficult subject of harmonics in the strings. In the classical repertorire, harmonics are not so present as other orchestral colors. There fore, it is particularly difficult to find repertory to train them.

My Mother had some sad news to give me. Dad was very ill. My whole life flashed before me. My parents were always 200% supportive of all my artistic endeavors. None of my success would have been possible but for my Dad and Mom. My memories of my Dad and my Mom flooded my mind like a deluge. When I heard the news about how gravely ill he was I thought to myself that so often we give thanks, honor, or show our love when it is too late. Who wants to be that person? I was finally in the unique position to show my gratitude and love to my parents in the most special way that I could - through music from my heart and soul. I got the courage to look deeply within and then I began to write what was to become the first and second songs, respectively Tears from My Eyes: Remember Your Feelings and Tears from My Eyes: Reflection and Contemplation on my Tears from My Eyes: Songs from my Soul album. You will now be able to do just the same for your loved ones with this new music. Your intermediate level to advanced students and even professional musicians should find this to be a welcomed piece to learn and master. It looks deceptively simple but the learning and challenge comes from two smaller sub-ensembles playing together in their own collective units legato con moto while playing together as a whole music ensemble Everyone will enjoy and bathe in the beautiful harmonies that will resonate when the entire music ensemble begins to listen to each while playing together as a group. Your musicians will hone their skills in playing together with just the right balance that this song requires. Your musicians will also hone their skills for subdividing and maintaining an inner beat that is in sync with your conducting because there is no percussion and the notes are freely flowing on and off the down beat yet not sounding heavily syncopated when performed. When will you know when you have achieved the right balance and flow of the music? You will know when, because you will hear it and feel it when it comes into place. But I can help you with all of this with what I have to offer you today. I share with you now the final and 5th movement to Tears from my Eyes - Onward and Upward (for String Orchestra). This particular was created and produced after the Songs from My Soul album was sent for distribution. So, this song has yet to be officially released. All five movements will be released as an album Mourning in the Rain. This 5th movement Onward and Upward has a decisive emotional resolution and conviction in its pathos. The dynamics reflect accordingly ranging from mf to fff indicative of overcoming adversity and grief. Imagine overcoming despair, rising out of grief and depression and finally seeing the light of day - to join the ranks of the living and re-embracing life once again.Contact info: Tito AbeledaVisionary Quest Recordshttps://www.visionaryquestrecordsEmail: tito@visionaryquestrecords.comFollow Tito on Social Media:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/titoabeledaTwitter:

String Orchestra - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1183534 Composed by Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de St. Georges. Arranged by Robert Debbaut. Classical,Contest,Festival,Historic,Multicultural,World. 28 pages. ROBERT DEBBAUT #783207. Published by ROBERT DEBBAUT (A0.1183534). How is it that one can be born a slave in French colonial Guadeloupe and rise to be among Paris’ musical giants, to become a colonel in the French Army as well as the frequent dinner guest of princes and potentates? The story of Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, is surely an interesting one, even the stuff of which movies are made.Joseph Bologne’s father, Georges Bologne de Saint-Georges was a French planter. Saint-Georges was the name of his plantation. He impregnated Anne, the Senegalese slave of his wife, who bore him a son in 1745. Uncharacteristic of many of these sort of relationships he acknowledged the child was his and gave him his family name. When he was seven Bologne’s father took him to Paris for his education, enrolling him in a boarding school. Two years later he and the child’s mother returned to France and set up housekeeping as a family in Paris’ Saint-Germain-des-Prés district. At age thirteen Joseph’s father enrolled him in the Royal Technical Academy of Fencing and Swordsmanship. He quickly became the finest swordsman in the academy, perhaps in all of Paris. Upon graduation he was made an Officer of the King’s Bodyguard and a chevalier (an honorary knighthood). He went on to serve tours of duty in the French Army during the Seven Years War (1756-1763) and later after the French Revolution, where he was Colonel and commander of an all-Black regiment of the Revolutionary Army. All this in spite of the fact that French law forbade him, a man of African heritage, to become a citizen, to retain his father’s royal title of “Gentleman of the King’s Chamber,†or to marry outside his class. There is limited information about Bologne’s musical training, but he was obviously so well-skilled that Italian violinist-composer Antonio Lolli (1725-1802) wrote two violin concertos for him and French composer François-Joseph Gossec (1734-1829) dedicated his set of String Trios, Op. 9 to Bologne. Lolli may have worked with him on violin technique and Gossec composition, but this may be apocryphal. Bologne played in Gossec’s orchestra, and was later both leader and conductor of the group. As a composer Joseph Bologne was quite prolific, composing six operas, fourteen violin concertos, four symphonies concertantes, and numerous chamber works and songs. His Six String Quartets, Op. 1, Nos. 1-6 date from 1770-1771 and were published by the Paris publishing house of Jean-Georges Sieber (1738-1822) in 1773 (There are a total of 18 quartets: Six Quartets “au goût du jour†[up-to-date] from 1779 and the Opus 14 set of six which date from 1785). The Opus 1 quartets are dedicated to Anne Louis Alexandre de Montmorency (1724-1812), 7th Prince of Robeck (Robecq) and Grand Duke of Spain. The Opus 1 quartets all display a similarity to the Italian opera overtures from earlier in the Eighteenth Century (often called “sinfoniaâ€) in that they have an overall “A-B-A†form with the ‘A’ sections being robust allegros and all ‘B’ sections marked “rondo.†As such, in arranging them for string orchestra it seemed quite natural to rename them “overtures.†Certain liberties were taken by the arranger in order to maintain the integrity of the classic Rondo formula. All six have been arranged in this manner for string orchestra. They vary in length from twelve to almost twenty minutes. If you wish to obtain parts, write to debbaut@gmail.com and pay $42 via venmo or $40 via personal check and they will be sent to you in pdf format.

String Orchestra - Level 5 - SKU: A0.800323 Composed by Sarah Wallin Huff. 20th Century,Contemporary,Spiritual. Score and Parts. 88 pages. Novel Soundtrax #2035933. Published by Novel Soundtrax (A0.800323). Completed in 2013, this work is A Romantic Expression Based on King Solomon's Song of Songs. Flirting with musical and dramatic elements from Medieval Europe to the ancient Middle East and Ancient Greek Theatre, Of Roses and Lilies features the solo soprano in the role of The Woman; she expresses her love, devotion, and delight toward her Lover while the Daughters of Jerusalem - as with that of the collective commentary of a Greek chorus - listen and engage with The Woman in her tales touting the glories of her Beloved. The work is in three major sections after the expressive and fluid introduction: the first in A Minor, introducing the characters and their vivd emotions; the second in A Major, during which The Woman shares a tale of her Lover calling her to escape with him into the night... For the winter is past and the rain gone... -when for a moment she hesitates, she wonders if she is too late, only to find that he is still there waiting for her, encouraging her with the sweet words of his continued adoration toward her; the third section returns to the original themes in A Minor, yet gains an expression of great power and fervency as The Woman's love for her Beloved utterly transforms her.

String Orchestra - Level 3 - SKU: A0.837278 Composed by Garth M. Wiliams (Socan). Concert,Contemporary,Standards. Score and parts. 24 pages. Garth M. Williams (Socan) #3425847. Published by Garth M. Williams (Socan) (A0.837278). Bastion Square March is named after the famous Bastion Square found in Victoria, B.C. Canada. Research states that many of the buildings in Bastion Square were haunted by previous residents of the buildings in the area. This composition is a typical march with First Violin parts ascending into third and fifth position. However, whenever this happens in the part it is double by a lower First Violin part in case the upper part is a little too challenging. The entire march ends with strains of Rule Brittania which I felt appropriate because Victoria is known in British Columbia, Canada as a little bit of England.

This piece features a solo violinist whose job is to capture the intense and climatic moments in this piece. This is one of my earliest works. I have only just started composing in the last few months and have no real training but I would like to make this into a career! This piece represents the beginning of my composition career as I'm only now starting to figure out what I want to accomplish. I hope you enjoy!(NOTE: I will immediately email you the individual parts after purchase!)-dylanchessler@gmail.com.

Made popular in the past decade, the "rickroll" is a classic bait and switch prank, whereby someone is tricked into listening to Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" when expecting something different. Your students will love to "Rickroll" their audience! This arrangement starts with a snippet of Pachelbel's timeless "Canon in D", to lull the audience into a false sense of seriousness - the bass plays the usual cello part here, with the cello leading the canon. After a few bars, we pause on a dominant chord, before launching into the upbeat strains of this classic 80's pop anthem. To leave out the prank, just omit the first two lines, and commence from rehearsal mark A. Arranged into D major for ease of playing. Cello, bass and viola parts include limited position work. The melody is passed between parts with the exception of the double bass, who opens the Pachelbel's "Canon in D" snippet. Included in purchase is the score and all parts, including Violin 3 (Viola part in treble clef). A great piece for school ensembles.
