Published by Luis Anjos Teixeira (A0.889429). „Improvisation On Tchaikovsky`s Cherubic Hymn. It is an original Harp improvisation to be accompanied by an adaptation for strings inspired by Tchaikovsky`s choir piece „Cherubic Hymn. The harmonic structure of Tchaikowky`s original work has been faithfully reproduced, so all credits for this piece goes to him. Rather than an arrangement, the outcome of this adventurous experience resulted in an improvisation for the Harp. With the added melodies on the Harp and the stringed instrumental caracter of the orquestral adaptation, the piece gains a stronger tone contrast, keeping at the same time its deep spiritual beauty, thus bringing it to a wider range of public and performance choices. it is very easy to perform, yet it moves deeply both performer and public. The piece is appropriate for beginner students. It can be used in serious concerts and all kinds of cultural events. It is a very Spiritual piece, it induces a wonderful mood in Baptism or Christmas celebrations. One can get married to it. The piece is also appropriate to honor someone in a funeral. Although this score was composed in full intent to be performed as written, the Harp part can be played by itself and the orquestral arrangement from the Hymn can also be performed without the Harp. This score was conceived so that without adaptations, the Harp the orchestra and the original Choir could perform at the same time. Or intercalated „Ad Lieb, the Harp with the choir, or the orquestra with the choir. Instead of a full string orquestra one can also use just a string quartet and a doublebass. A Little Historical Note. „The Cherubic Hymn is part of the Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom written in the fourth century by the Byzantine saint, honored as such by both Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches. In the context of the liturgy, the hymn is sung during the most mystical and spiritual part of the service as a prelude to the transubstantiation of bread and wine into the real presence of Our Lord. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, the inspiring Master and genial composer with whom I had the happy causality to write this improvisation or „collab was born in; 25 April/7 May 1840 – 25 October/6 November 1893, was a Russian composer of the late Romantic period, he created an outstanding number of unique musical masterpieces. Tchaikovsky was honored in 1884, by Emperor Alexander III, and awarded a lifetime pension. When I heard the news about how gravely ill he was I thought to myself that so often we give thanks, honor, or show our love when it is too late. Who wants to be that person? I was finally in the unique position to show my gratitude and love to my parents in the most special way that I could - through music from my heart and soul. I got the courage to look deeply within and then I began to write what was to become the first and second songs, respectively Tears from My Eyes: Remember Your Feelings and Tears from My Eyes: Reflection and Contemplation on my Tears from My Eyes: Songs from my Soul album.You will now be able to do just the same for your loved ones with this new music. Your intermediate level to advanced students and even professional musicians should find this to be a welcomed piece to learn and master. It looks deceptively simple but the learning and challenge comes from two smaller sub-ensembles playing together in their own collective units legato con moto while playing together as a whole music ensemble Everyone will enjoy and bathe in the beautiful harmonies that will resonate when the entire music ensemble begins to listen to each while playing together as a group. Your musicians will hone their skills in playing together with just the right balance that this song requires. It is a dance of unbridled joy to celebrate a rich harvest of nature's bounty. In 2013, I transcribed it from my private archive of old dusty audio tapes no one had ever heard, and with the CarsonValley Sinfonia in mind, revised it for string orchestra without winds.1995 was a low period in my life. The pressure from my job in the technology industry was relentless, and personal relationships at that time sometimes brought emotional pain instead of solace and comfort. Grasping for any ray of hope to illuminate the gloom, I turned back to my original love: music.Immersing myself deeply in the process of music creation, I rediscovered not only a talent for composition, but even more importantly tapped into the creative source of uplift, joy, and energy, the source of all gifts, that is available to every sincere person. During those years, composing music was a vital lifeline. Like the powerful beam of the rescuer's flashlight guiding you toward the daylight when you are emerging from a dark cave. Like a new baby being born. Now a great many years later, life now brimming with music and friends, and having put old sorrows far behind me, music from that time of troubles still fills me with the same joy as when I composed it, and I hope it uplifts you.Harvest Dance is dedicated to my friend, composer John O'Neill, with profound appreciation for his encouragement, as well as helping me learn the practicalities of arranging for a string orchestra.
