REMEMBER ALWAYS is written in loving memory of Catherine C. Hettle (Mum) and is my humble tribute to a most wonderful person and mother of my best friend Mark . I first met Mum when I was 19 years old while serving in the US Navy and she immediately treated me with such kindness which I never forgot. After losing contact for a number of years I was so glad and fortunate that I was able to once again be a small part of her life. You will be dearly missed Mum by so many. There are no good-byes because loved ones will always live in our hearts. REMEMBER ALWAYS is written for intermediate students and includes full score and parts for Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola, Cello, String Bass and optional Soprano and Baritone vocals. The vocal parts are vocalised without the use of words such as in the final movement of The Planets by Holst. As an example the vowel ‘ah‘ could be used but the choice will be the director’s. Perform this work with only one to a part or use multiples for a fuller sound. It can also be performed without the vocals. As songwriter Paul Anka once philosophized, Memories are times that we borrow to spend when we get to tomorrow. In this piece, composer Ron Flintjer has fashioned a composition that requires no lyrics to be understood. Written in the key of D concert in lilting 3/4 time, Reminisce encourages one's mind to drift aback over the years. Initially, a major key signature signals the good times in life. Next, a change to a minor key recalls the not-so-good times. Finally, the piece resolves back to the original major key, signaling that while all lives will see a combination of good and bad, on the whole life is truly good. Reminisce is written for Middle School / Beginning Intermediate.

As of February 2024, the Scottish Government have not yet formally adopted an official national anthem of Scotland, despite having the legal competence in order to do so. ] During a meeting of the Enterprise and Culture Committee on 9 May 2006 in the Scottish Parliament, MSP Michael Matheson raised the question about the status of Scotland's national anthem, citing during the recent Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, there was some debate about a Scottish national anthem, largely because a number of songs were being used as our national anthem. However, in recent discussions on the matter, no consensus was reached, other than on the point that we should have a national anthem. At that time, there was suggestions that the incumbent First Minister of Scotland Jack McConnell had claimed that a debate on an official national anthem for Scotland should take place to address the issue.MSP Murdo Fraser expressed concerns over the three most popular candidates for an official national anthem of Scotland – Flower of Scotland, Scotland the Brave and Highland Cathedral. In his speech to the committee, he claimed Flower of Scotland is inappropriate because some of the sentiments that are expressed in it are jingoistic and anti-English; Scotland the Brave is inappropriate because, although it is a good tune, it does not have words that match the upbeat nature of the music; and Highland Cathedral is a good tune, but it has no words at all.

This is one of a series of charts for string orchestra that are easy to play and each relate to a single theme---patriotic, ethnic, activity, holiday or age related songs. Being easy to play---nothing past an eighth note and no hemi-demi-semi-quavers--they will be more apt to be in tune and this is good for all concerned. They all are in tempo and have a swing feeling to them to make your audience like them. After all--this is about making music and not displaying technique. Continuing the tradition of pieces based on characters in the Dungeons and Dragons game that I run, The Bedouin of Wyrms follows a young ranger who struggles to find a place in the world, trying to find out how to deal of moral quandaries with no correct answer. Despite this, Sylveon Jastire keeps a kind heart and solemn sense of purpose. The Passionate Sylveon Jastire is young and adventurous, with the naivete to match. With this outlook, she cares about only one thing; protecting her family by entering the wilds and taking care of any threats before they even have the chance to become problems. The Lamented and The Headstrong Sylveon, known colloquially as Silver, learns the difficulties of the world, and that nothing is as straight-forward as it was at her desert temple home. In the second movement, Silver learns the consequences actions have on the world, both good and bad. In the third, her resolve tightens as she doubles down on her ideals. This proves to be a good thing, as her tenacity eventually leads to her liberation. The Free Silvers work has paid off. Through a strong belief in her ideals and a little flexibility in her methods, Silver has Met countless friends, slain countless evils, and saved the brother she never knew she had from an evil that lurked beneath. Now nothing holds her back and Silver has grown to be one of the strongest people in Verdai.

This is a simple 12 bar boogie for string orchestra that is fun to play and will let the players have a good time while they perform. There is nothing past an eighth note---no hemidemiquavers--..-The Heritage Series is written to be easy to play and easy to listen to. They all have familiar tunes, sound full, have easy ranges and involve nothing more complicated than an eight note. The object is to produce music and not to display technique. The harmonies, lines and logical counterpoints make these arrangements play well with modest technique. Markings are at minimum to keep things simple. String Bass and Piano must be used to make these arrangements work. The optional acoustic guitar (NOT ELECTRIC) will help the rhythm section. Electric bass could be substituted. If you use an electric bass player, sometimes they can be converted to an upright bass or cello player player( –a devious but legal way to get more players in your school orchestra). There is a 3rd Violin part that is really a treble clef viola part if you have no viola players, or to bolster what you have.

Although written for harpsichord, the solo part could be played on any keyboard, piano or organ. The soloist should adjust dynamics, articulations, and tone colors to best compliment the instrument and accompanying orchestra.
