Flirting with musical and dramatic elements from Medieval Europe to the ancient Middle East and Ancient Greek Theatre, Of Roses and Lilies features the solo soprano in the role of The Woman; she expresses her love, devotion, and delight toward her Lover while the Daughters of Jerusalem - as with that of the collective commentary of a Greek chorus - listen and engage with The Woman in her tales touting the glories of her Beloved. The work is in three major sections after the expressive and fluid introduction: the first in A Minor, introducing the characters and their vivd emotions; the second in A Major, during which The Woman shares a tale of her Lover calling her to escape with him into the night... For the winter is past and the rain gone... -when for a moment she hesitates, she wonders if she is too late, only to find that he is still there waiting for her, encouraging her with the sweet words of his continued adoration toward her; the third section returns to the original themes in A Minor, yet gains an expression of great power and fervency as The Woman's love for her Beloved utterly transforms her.

A hugely enjoyable arrangement for string orchestra of three movements from Purcell's grand and powerful Music for the Funeral of Queen Mary. This music was also played at Purcell's own funeral shortly after. 1. Funeral March2. Thou Knowest, Lord3. Canzona IIThe three contrasting movements include slow, powerful chords, contrapuntal moving parts and fugue-like lively themes. This arrangement includes a violin III part which can be used if no violas are available. The double bass part, whilst making a significant contribution, could also be omitted if no basses are available. All of Emma's arrangements find creative and artistic ways to re-present original pieces in a way that suits the new instruments and ensemble whilst maintaining the integrity of the original piece. Her aim is to go far beyond a simple copying of the melody and harmony, but to create an arrangement that sounds as if the piece was always meant for these new instruments.

Few instruments blend better than strings and classical guitar. This concerto was composed in a contemporary classical style with three movements. Inspired by the guitar concertos of Rodrigo this pice evokes the full expressive power of both the guitar as well as the string section. Composed by Ron Jones (Star Trek:TNG, Family Guy and many more) who has scored hundereds of popular TV series. The total duration is about 15 minutes and would fit into just about any concert program. Induced Hope for String Orchestra is written through the inspiration of multiple pieces. There are three short sections. The first section consists of a joyful and brilliant major opening and transition to a minor tonality. The first section features some bends and special percussive sound effects. The second section is a romantic ballad, which explores tension and release cycles which resolves dissonant chords and create a relaxing feeling. The last section is sudden and abrupt, and begins with an unusual 7/4 fast pattern. The melody first plays on high strings and then varied on the low strings to create contrast. It builds up into a climax and finish with a few powerful and chords in rhythmic unison.
