THE KLEZMER CONCERTO The concerto opens with a slow but intense movement titled Pastoral Doyna.  A Doyna is a lament-like melody -- both declamatory and melancholic -- of Eastern-European origin, most likely Rumanian, Gypsy, or Jewish. The opening by the string ensemble is reminiscent of the awakening sound of nature. On top of the busy accompaniment the clarinet enters with occasional shouts, echoes, and cry-like gestures. The second movement is a sort of a wedding-waltz, titled: Dance of the Seven Circles. The name goes back to the old Jewish tradition according to which a bride must circle seven times around the bridegroom before the actual start of the marriage ceremony. Its nature of this movement is a mixture of irony and passion, humor and pain. At the end of the waltz the clarinetist is invited to play a free cadenza and improvise on previous motives and melodic patterns. The movement ends with a return to the orchestra, with a soulful lament and quiet murmuring of the soloist. The third and last movement of the concerto is titled Halleluya. It is inspired by the textual content, vibrant rhythms and many musical instruments suggested in the 150th Psalm. Toward the end of this movement, there is a second solo cadenza in a perpetual motion style, where upon the players of the orchestra join in and add their voices to the pandemonium with a song of praise: Halleluya! I wrote this composition for 2 solo clarinets accompanied by a string orchestra. In this minimalistic opus I tried to reflect an inevitable and painful desire to overcome the gravity into a free floating with a point of no return at the end. Clarinet parts require special attention to a stable sound in the upper register (from Piano to Fortissimo), as they include notes of maximum height. The number of strings can vary, but the best effect and the full sound of the score can be achieved with an orchestra no less than - 8, 6, 4, 4, 2 (With opinion to change 1stCl. In B to Cl. Piccolo in the middle of the play)

Timing: 5 min.I wrote this composition for 2 solo clarinets accompanied by a string orchestra. In this minimalist opus I tried to reflect an inevitable and painful desire to overcome the gravity into a free floating with a point of no return at the end. Clarinet parts require special attention to a stable sound in the upper register (from Piano to Fortissimo), as they include notes of maximum height. The number of strings can vary, but the best effect and the full sound of the score can be achieved with an orchestra no less than - 8, 6, 4, 4, 2.

Transcribed for String Orchestra the second movement of the New World Symphony is introduced by a harmonic progression of chords in the wind instruments. Beckerman interprets these chords as a musical rendition of the narrative formula Once upon a time. Then a solo cor anglais (English horn) plays the famous main theme in D-flat major accompanied by muted strings. Dvořák was said to have changed the theme from clarinet to cor anglais as it reminded him of the voice of Harry Burleigh. The movement's middle section contains a passage in C♯ minor evoking a nostalgic and desolate mood which eventually leads into a funeral march above pizzicato steps in the basses. It is followed by a quasi-scherzo that incorporates this movement's theme as well as the first movement's main and closing themes. Commissioned by the St Magnus Festival and first performed there in 2007, The Seas of Kirk Swarf, like many of the composer’s works, draws inspiration from the Orkney Isles where Maxwell Davies lives. Kirk Swarf is a stretch of sea off the Holms of Ire, two small uninhabited islands off Sanday, Orkney and as the name suggests, on shore is a ruined chapel. The composer explains that two kinds of sea meet and interact here at this point - the wilder sea from Westray to the west, and a calmer sea, resulting in huge waves suddenly rearing up, even on calm days, with extraordinary dramatic effect.

I was finally in the unique position to show my gratitude and love to my parents in the most special way that I could - through music from my heart and soul. I got the courage to look deeply within and then I began to write what was to become the first and second songs, respectively Tears from My Eyes: Remember Your Feelings and Tears from My Eyes: Reflection and Contemplation on my Tears from My Eyes: Songs from my Soul album.You will now be able to do just the same for your loved ones with this new music. Your intermediate level to advanced students and even professional musicians should find this to be a welcomed piece to learn and master. It looks deceptively simple but the learning and challenge comes from two smaller sub-ensembles playing together in their own collective units legato con moto while playing together as a whole music ensemble Everyone will enjoy and bathe in the beautiful harmonies that will resonate when the entire music ensemble begins to listen to each while playing together as a group. Your musicians will hone their skills in playing together with just the right balance that this song requires. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.746694). Arrangement of That's a Plenty for String Orchestra. That’s a Plenty arranged for String Orchestra, is a 1914 ragtime piano piece composed by Lew Pollack. Lyrics by Ray Gilbert (born 1912) were added decades later. A number of popular vocal versions have been recorded, but the tune remains more performed as an instrumental. The composition started out as a rag, but is nowadays played as a part of the Dixieland jazz repertoire. The song has been recorded by numerous artists, and it is considered a jazz standard. The first recording was in 1917 by Prince’s Band, and the New Orleans Rhythm Kings recorded their rendition in 1923.Television comedian Jackie Gleason used it in his shows in the 1950s and 1960s. Among the hundreds of later recordings of this standard, particularly notable versions include: Freddy Martin and His Orchestra recorded a version of That’s A Plenty in 1950. Sheet music from the 1950 version featuring Freddy Martin on the cover has the lyrics printed inside. It was recorded by Albert Nicholas, clarinet, with The Big Chief Jazz Band in Oslo on August 29, 1955. Released on the 78 rpm record Philips P 53038. The Pollack and Gilbert song is not to be confused with a 1909 song of the same name by Henry Creamer and Bert Williams.
