Kalinka for Solo Cello and Piano

This famous Russian folk song has been featured in multiple films and computer games and is often referred to as "The Tetris Theme".

This cello & piano arrangement is designed for the success of novice collaborators or busy musicians. Each performer spends time with both the melody and tasteful accompaniment parts. Although elegantly simple, the music presents three variations to focus the mind on the message of this beloved hymn. Performance time is approximately 1:35.

Trajko Prokopiev is considered one of the founders of the Macedonian music culture, whose works represent its basic foundation. He was a composer and conductor. His work is known for the use of historical, mythological and folk motifs- elements of cultural significance to the Macedonian people. Trajko Prokopiev also composed and solo and choral songs, chamber suites, and vocal compositions for voice and piano. His other major works include the ballet ?Labin and Dojrana,? both opera ?Kuzman Kapidan? and ?Parting,? and the first Macedonian opera by the work of A. Panov ?Migrant Workers.?.

Cello solo with optional piano accompaniment. The entire song is provided in both the original key (B Major) and an easy key for cellists (D Major).
