For use in lessons or for your first concert performance - Easy Concert Pieces for Cello and Piano contains easy and well-known solo pieces from the Renaissance to the modern era, carefully selected according to technical and musical demands: Volume 1 very easy (1st position), Volume 2 easy (1st and half position), Volume 3 easy to intermediate (1st to 4th position).
Besides original compositions by Breval, de Fesch, Reinagle or Gretchaninoff there are readily playable arrangements of classical masterpieces and modern compositions from the world of pop, jazz, spirituals, bossa nova and tango.

Vol. 1 (ED 21705) includes very easy pieces in 1st position, followed by Vol. 2 which also includes easy pieces in 1st and 1/2 positions. Vol. 3 contains easy to intermediate level pieces in 1st-4th position. All the pieces have been carefully selected to suite the appropriate . technical and musical levels, and range from original compositions by the great masters to arrangements from classical, pop, jazz, spiritual, bossa nova and tango music.

Hugo Schlemuller (1872-1919), pianist, teacher and music writer, taught violoncello in the preparatory school of Dr. Hoch's Conservatoire in Frankfurt. During this time, he wrote numerous works for violoncello lessons for beginners, among them the easy performance pieces Op. 12.
The pieces with piano accompaniment are playable in the first close position throughout and are suitable for students at the end of the first year of training who also wish to master a few little musically demanding challenges from time to time.
