ABOUT THE ARRANGER: Praised as a sensitive pianist and outstanding accompanist who delivers powerful interpretations, Nicole Elyse DiPaolo enjoys a multifaceted career as a sought-after collaborative pianist, educational composer, arranger, coach, private teacher, and adjunct music professor. Currently based in the Cleveland area, Ms. DiPaolo has appeared as a concerto soloist with the Ambassador Chamber Players on multiple occasions (two of which also featured her own Piano Trio in C minor) and as a recitalist, collaborator, and presenter worldwide. Currently, Ms. DiPaolo is an online Adjunct Lecturer in Music at Indiana University; the Principal Theory Teacher at Liberty Park Music, an online-only video subscription-based music school; an invited contributor to the Tonebase app's piano blog; and a sought-after online instructor of piano, music theory, and composition. She has additionally been an online teaching artist for the Tunaweza Kimuziki cultural/artistic exchange program+, through which IU instructors teach undergraduate music students in Kenya via Zoom and WhatsApp. Ms. DiPaolo was also on the composition and collaborative piano faculty at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in 2014 and 2015. In June 2018, Ms. DiPaolo was a Collaborative Piano Fellow at the Bay View Music Festival in Petoskey, Michigan, performing with the festival's SOARS voice program participants on fully staged opera scenes and art song recitals as well as in the Bay View Young Artist Series (Charlevoix, MI). She then joined the Spooky Goose Opera team as an online coach/pianist for their Quarantine Concert Series, the world's first livestreamed Zoom production of Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (summer 2020), and new opera projects under development. When not on the piano bench, Ms. DiPaolo continues to compose and arrange, and her compositions have been described as very effective with a fantastic amount of intrigue, mindfulness...[and] colorful nuance (Seven Sky Music). Ms. DiPaolo's music has been heard across the world. Along with numerous performances in the Midwest, her commissioned song settings of Muscogee poet laureate Alexander Posey's texts have been performed nationwide, and the Smithsonian Institution procured copies of two of these (Nature's Blessings and A Vision) to archive at the National Museum of the American Indian. Ms. DiPaolo's music also received its Mexican premiere in 2013 with a performance of her Divertimento, written for the International String Quartet of Yucatán. In 2014 Ms. DiPaolo published a set of twenty short pedagogical pieces in uncommon keys, entitled Venturing Beyond, for early-intermediate pianists of all ages, available on SheetMusicPlus and MusicaNeo, and she is currently working on Vignettes, a new set of pedagogical pieces that will introduce intermediate pianists to the Impressionist language of Maurice Ravel. Most recently, her Divertimento and Lucid Dreaming for solo harp were chosen to be featured in the She Scores new music festival, celebrating women composers with ties to Ohio, held at Case Western Reserve University in June 2022 and recorded for later broadcast on Mark Satola's Cleveland Ovations program on WCLV radio (90.3). Also a sought-after composition teacher and adjudicator, Ms. DiPaolo frequently judges state, regional, and divisional MTNA composition competitions at all levels, ranging from elementary to college-level Young Artists. In her private online studio, she has recently expanded her curricular offerings to include partimento and other historical methods of teaching tonal composition and improvisation.

Born in Ankara in 1976, Metin Yilmaz started his formal musical education at the Bilkent University, Department of Musical Composition in the Faculty of Performing Arts. He studied with Hatira Ahmetli on “Taniyev’s Harmony and Musical Pedogogyâ€. He continued his musical studies with Arif Melikov in Baku Music Academy following a special invitation. He performed in four concerts which included his own compositions that were broadcasted on Russian NTV, Azerbaijan State Televisions. He participated in Rostropovitch’s musicality and instrumental composition master classes. He pariticipated in seminars along with Russian and Iranian composers in International Zagulba Composition Festival that took place in Baku. His interviews from these seminars were published in various mediums. Some of his pianoworks were represented in various concerts and recorded by known pianist Yuri Savetskin. He completed his composition education in Turkey with Aydın Azimov in Mersin University State Conservatorium and graduated in the first place. Soon after his graduation he perfırmed and conducted his own piano concerto “SARI†with Mersin Youth Symphony Orchestra. While working as an academic instructor in Çukurova State Conservatorium he also instructed piano in Mersin Fine Arts High School. Later he instructed in Baskent State Conservatorium. His arrangements and compositions are performed in Antalya, Bodrum and Ankara by Baskent University Academic Orchestra. He continued his master’s and artistic proficiency in Baku Music Academy with Arif Melikov and in Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatorium with Igor Dranov. His composition “Geveze†(Babbler) was deemed worthy for the first place in Yamaha International Composition Competition and was performed in America, Germany, Italy and China. He participated and performed in various concerts and organizations in Ankara, Baku and Tiblisi Jazz Festivals and jazz Clubs and started Babel Project music community that arranged concerts. The modal jazz and Turkish music arrangements draw attention and his workshops inspired many young jazz musicians. He composed and arranged documentary and titles compositions that were broadcasted on Turkish National Radio and Television and other broadcasting institutions. He thought Music Theory & Culture and participated in foundation of Atilim University Department of Jazz. He thought in Yildirim Beyazıt University State Conservatorium. He broadcasted “HAFIZAMDAKI MAKAMLAR†in Turkish National Television that explored music of architecture. He is the board chairman of Musical Therapy Education and Research Association and general director of School of Art Machine that evolved into Babel Project Music Ltd. His musical compositions fuse elements of traditional, contemporary and classical music styles in a natural sense of integrity blended with mature emotional expressiveness.

The Composition is appropriate both for music school students and professional concert artists.PAVEL TROJAN was born on 14th August 1956 in Domažlice. Between 1977 and 1982, he studied composition with Ilja HurnÃk at the Prague Conservatory; after that, from 1982 until 1989, he went to attend the Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where he studied in the class of Jiřà Pauer.The composer has extensive chamber, orchestral and musical dramatic work, which includes both opera and musical. In his work he puts emphasis on melody, brevity and clarity.He has been working at the Prague Conservatory since 1986, at first as a music theory tutor, and from 1991 as a music composition teacher. From 1992 until 2004, he was the vice director of the conservatory until being appointed the director in December 2004 (until July 2018). He is currently teaching a composition. This theme is originally attributed to Franz Joseph Haydn, who included it as the slow movement of his Divertimento for Winds in Bb, Hob.II:46. However, it's uncertain whether he actually wrote the theme or took it from another source (like a hymn tune, which the St. Anthony name would suggest, or a folksong). Several decades later, Johannes Brahms ran across Haydn's Divertimento, liked the theme, and used it in his Variations on a Theme by Haydn, now the most famous setting of this theme. Carl Czerny also used it for a variation set. Specifically arranged for the early-stage piano student who is just beginning to play hands together, and for teachers who don't wish to prolong the hands alone stage, this unique adaptation keeps the hands in rhythmic unison and symmetrical contrary motion, optimizing ease of playing when first beginning to engage the both hands motor area of the brain. Throughout the piece, the student uses the same finger at the same time in both hands, and the fingers are matched to both-white or both-black keys, respectively. Strongly auditory and kinesthetic learners who don't require visual feedback may successfully learn this piece via rote instruction, too. This arrangement has also been designed so that it can work in both 2-piano 4-hands and 1-piano 4-hands settings.Additionally, the transposition to G-flat major (from B-flat) allows the student to take advantage of the black keys' inherent posture- and accuracy-enhancing qualities, which are vital in those early lessons when correct technique habits need to be installed. Finally, particularly for the adult student who's keen to dive into the classical repertoire: this is a genuine, well-known piece of music treated by multiple famous composers from the common practice era. Even finicky audience members will enjoy this piece, which will not sound like something a first-year piano student might play: some of the world's most elite orchestras have also recorded this work in Brahms's arrangement. Given that the tune is potentially a bit long for a beginner student, I've placed a double bar after m. 10, noting that if necessary, a student could excerpt mm. 1-10 and perform these without the middle section and return of A. I have not reproduced Haydn's original(?) repeats, but the student and teacher could add them if desired. Hey Jude is a song by the English rock band the Beatles that was released as a non-album single in August 1968. It was written by Paul McCartney and credited to the Lennon–McCartney partnership. The single was the Beatles' first release on their Apple record label and one of the First Four singles by Apple's roster of artists, marking the label's public launch. Hey Jude was a number-one hit in many countries around the world and became the year's top-selling single in the UK, the US, Australia and Canada. Its nine-week run at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 tied the all-time record in 1968 for the longest run at the top of the US charts. It has sold approximately eight million copies and is frequently included on music critics' lists of the greatest songs of all time. The writing and recording of Hey Jude coincided with a period of upheaval in the Beatles. The ballad evolved from Hey Jules, a song McCartney wrote to comfort John Lennon's son, Julian, after Lennon had left his wife for the Japanese artist Yoko Ono. The lyrics espouse a positive outlook on a sad situation, while also encouraging Jude to pursue his opportunities to find love. After the fourth verse, the song shifts to a coda featuring a Na-na-na na refrain that lasts for over four minutes. Hey Jude was the first Beatles song to be recorded on eight-track recording equipment. The sessions took place at Trident Studios in central London, midway through the recording of the group's self-titled double album (also known as the White Album), and led to an argument between McCartney and George Harrison over the song's guitar part. Ringo Starr later left the band only to return shortly before they filmed the promotional clip for the single. The clip was directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg and first aired on David Frost's UK television show. Contrasting with the problems afflicting the band, this performance captured the song's theme of optimism and togetherness by featuring the studio audience joining the Beatles as they sang the coda. At over seven minutes in length, Hey Jude was the longest single to top the British charts up to that time.[1] Its arrangement and extended coda encouraged many imitative works through to the early 1970s. In 2013, Billboard magazine named it the 10th biggest song of all time in terms of chart success.[2] McCartney has continued to perform Hey Jude in concert since Lennon's death in 1980, leading audiences in singing the coda. Julian Lennon and McCartney have each bid successfully at auction for items of memorabilia related to the song's creation.
