Practice Tips: This notation may look confusing, but it's easy to get used to! Measures 1-14 are made up of a constant eighth-note rhythm that alternates between both hands. Chords in the top staff should be played by the right hand, and chords in the bottom staff should be played by the left hand. The melody alternates between the hands. In measures 1-6, bring out the bottom note of the left hand. In measures 7-15, voice the top note of the right hand. The left hand's line in measures 17 and 21 should be treated as a response to the right hand. Pedal both measures in their entireties; however, be careful not to play the first note in either measure too loud, or else it will not sound nice. Also notice the cross-staff slurs in measures 19 and 20: the shape of the inner melody will be easier to hear if you are able to clearly voice the first A. If your hand is too small to reach the 9th in measure 15, you can substitute an A for the bottom note, or you can take a bit of extra time and play the first G with your left hand.

Practice Tips: As in the previous piece, don't let the notation throw you off. Everything in the top staff should be played by the right hand, and everything in the bottom staff should be played by the left hand. This one may look slightly more complicated because of the half notes that are next to some of the eighth notes. Treat this as a tenuto marking: it is the melody line. Note, for instance, that measures 4 and 8 have no doubled notes: this means that none of those notes are part of the main theme. However, still be sure to shape them!

This is a great textbook written by Aloys Schemitt to exercise fingers on the piano for beginner to advanced student.There are 38 exercises in this book and all notes used for each exercises are only C,D,E,F and G for each hand - C position.This edition is written with big notes - only 1 exercise per page so that young student can read the notes easily. Also each exercise has some rhythmic exercises as well.If your student needs to develop their finger movement and hand shape but Hanon is a bit difficult and too long for them, this is the right one!Excellent educational material for both private and group lessons.

This arrangement includes the complete lyrics to the song and the melody is written for the right hand. It has been transposed to C Major to make it easier to learn (no sharps or flats!). As a learning piece, this arrangement is great for students of the piano. It explores some challenging concepts such as moving and crossing with the right hand, moving chord shapes in the left hand and some fun rhythms (duplets in 6/8 time and triplets in 4/4 time). By simplifying the left hand shapes, keeping the right hand melody only, and picking the easier key signature of C Major, students are free to explore without getting too overwhelmed.As a piano teacher myself, I strive to create arrangements that capture the true essence of each popular tune while coaching students to expand their skills in very doable patterns.
