This is the first publication of the Jewish Dance for cello solo (arranged for viola solo) and orchestra by Lev PULVER (1883 – 1970), based on the autograph manuscript of the score, realized and edited by Sergei Pichugin. The piano reduction of the composition has been made by the author. The piece was composed in 1942–43 in the midst of World War II. Presumably it was never performed since 1950, being completely forgotten. Jewish Dance is definitely among the masterpieces of Yiddish musical culture of the 20th century. Introductory text to the publication, written by Sergei Pichugin, includes a short biography of the composer and a description of the Jewish Dance.

The 24-page file includes the piano accompaniments and the separate solo parts at the end. Ave Maria was written by Franz Schubert in 1825 as the sixth song in his song cycle based on Walter Scott’s poem The Lady of the Lake. It is perhaps the best known of all his melodies, adapted for piano by Franz Liszt, and for orchestra many times since. It is often sung with the Latin lyrics of the Catholic hymn of the same name and has been heard everywhere from the Disney movie Fantasia to the funeral of J.F. Kennedy. The Bridal March was written by Richard Wagner in 1850, scored for orchestra and chorus, and opening the third act of his opera, Lohingren. It is best known in the English-speaking world as Here Comes the Bride. Queen Victoria’s daughter used the music for her marriage in 1858, and its popularity has endured ever since.The Prince of Denmark’s March is better known nowadays as the Trumpet Voluntary and is often used in wedding ceremonies. It was in fact written for organ, with the melody played on thetrumpet stop. Written around 1700, for many years this piece was mistakenly attributed to Henry Purcell. Only recently has it been established that the composer was Jeremiah Clarke, organist at St Paul’s Cathedral. It is somewhat ironic that this composer of a wedding mainstay was himself a victim of unrequited love. He consequently shot himself in the cathedral graveyard. Felix Mendelssohn’s Wedding March was originally written in 1842 as incidental music to Shakespeare’s famousplay, Midsummer Night’s Dream. When Queen Victoria’s daughter used the music for her marriage in 1858, it became instantly popular and has remained a wedding favourite ever since.These four arrangements are also available as single titles for $3.99 each. 'Pomp and Circumstance Military March No. 1' with its middle section, the hymn-like 'Land of Hope and Glory' by Edward Elgar (1857–1934), belongs to the finale of the London music event like the Radetzky March usually played as last piece to the New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Momentos, for Viola and PianoThe work is divided into five parts: Part 1 is inspired in the sounds produced by the orchestra when tuning before each concert. There is emphasis on note A and the rhythms are out of phase. In Part 2 the viola “pizzicati” sounds are explored, in an atonal language, with intensive rhythmic dialogue between the two instruments. In Part 3 there is a vigorous rhythmic sense, with some metric changes and rhythmic contrasts, which sometimes, let the two instruments almost discordant with each other. In Part 4 is used the idea of an elastic time, that stretches and contracts. This idea is represented by a motif played by the viola. This motif is developed by a process of addition and subtraction of notes. Part 5 represents the idea of monotony, followed by try to break this monotony. This part begins with repeated elements that little by little, get transformed. Other elements appear, while the texture gets denser and the material presented by the viola acquire a degree of more virtuosity. Part 5 concludes with a brief rarefied texture.

Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, Price was educated at the New England Conservatory of Music, and was active in Chicago from 1927 until her death in 1953. Price is noted as the first African-American woman to be recognized as a symphonic composer, and the first to have a composition played by a major orchestra.This short and tuneful piece is perfect in any performance.
