French Horn,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1314622 Composed by Various. Arranged by Keith Terrett. 20th Century,Christmas,Patriotic,Praise & Worship. Score and part. 31 pages. Keith Terrett #903376. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1314622). An exciting arrangement of eight popular swinging xmas carols arranged for French Horn & Piano; in an up-beat and somewhat jazzy manner. This challenging set of carols, offers players in general, something very different for those Christmas concerts and recitals, give them a go, and I am sure that you won’t be disappointed! The set includes: Ding Dong Merrily On High, Silent Night,We Three Kings,Away in a Manger, Joy to the World, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Deck the Halls & Good King Wenceslas. The part is all written out with jazz inflections and articulation included. The Piano part is all written out, but also includes the jazz chords for players who wish to comp. These Carols are playable by moderately advanced performers and are perfect for parties, church services, busking & recitals. Range is very moderate, nothing high at all.Need an anthem fast? They are ALL in my store! All my anthem arrangements are also available for Orchestra, Recorders, Saxophones, Wind, Brass and Flexible band. If you need an anthem urgently for an instrumentation not in my store, let me know via e-mail, and I will arrange it for you FOC if possible!Reviewer Chet Heflin Date 29th Sep 2006Bluesy Xmas! Keith Terrett has done an outstanding job of injecting jazz and blues into these holiday favorites. The writing beginning in measure 13 of Ding Dong Merrily On High is outstanding. Check out the wonderful contrast in movement between the flute and bass. This arrangement of Xmas carols would be a wonderful addition to any future holiday program. Well done Keith! Have fun! Caroling (singing carols in the street) is one of the oldest customs in Great Britain, going back to the Middle Ages when beggars, seeking food, money, or drink, would wander the streets singing holiday songs.

French Horn,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.738318 Composed by Fiona Hickie. Classical,Contemporary,Multicultural,World. Score and part. 7 pages. Fiona Alice Hickie #6489701. Published by Fiona Alice Hickie (A0.738318). A piece for French horn and piano. n this work the platypus is tranquil in his den or in the water, then frolics in the river. The Platypus is an Australian, semi-aquatic animal that spends its time in waterways, and its burrow next to the water’s edge. It is classified as a monotreme which means it has fur and lays eggs. When the British first took one home to England they thought they must have stuck together a couple of animals, because they look so unique. A furry animal with a duck like bill, how strange! The male platypus have venomous spurs on their back legs, but people don’t get close enough to them to get hurt. They are known to be a very shy animal that can sometimes be spotted at sunset.See also, Wombats, Koalas and Tigers Too ITEM ID: S0.538399

Tchaikovsky: Overture from Nutcracker Suite for French Horn & Piano

French Horn,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549632 Composed by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Children,Christmas,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 24 pages. Jmsgu3 #3515725. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549632). Duration: ca. 3:20 Score: 13 pages, solo part: 3 pages, piano part: 7 pages, 182 measures in 2/4. Overture in Miniature to Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite.  Program for a recital, church meditation, school plays, and Christmas presentations of all kinds. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky Tchaikovsky is probably the most popular of the great composers in America. His music certainly appeals to musicians. Likewise, it appeals even to folks who don’t normally listen to serious music. This is probably because of his most noteworthy melodies. Above all, he writes with great emotion. This certainly makes a most noteworthy if not an unforgettable impact. Education First of all, He attended classes at the Russian Musical Society. Even more, He also attended the St. Petersburg Conservatory. There he studied music theory with Nikolai Zaremba. He also consequently studied composition with Anton Rubenstein. It seems like Rubenstein came under criticism from a group of Russian composers known as the Five. The Five The Five certainly rejected Western musical influences. They rather sought to use elements from Russian music. They furthermore wanted to use more exotic musical materials. Western Techniques More than other Russian composers, Tchaikovsky studied modern Western music. He certainly develops his music like the European masters. So, rather than repeating a motive, he moves to a new key. He then introduces a different theme in the new key. Hence, he maintained his independence from the Five. Even more, he became the first Russian composer of international stature. Influences Tchaikovsky was probably influenced in his ballet scoring by Léo Delibes. Richard Wagner influenced his symphonic writing. Tchaikovsky’s most famous works include the 1812 Overture, The Nutcracker Suite, and Swan Lake. Also famous are the Violin Concerto in D and the six symphonies. The greatest of the six symphonies may be No. 6, the Pathétique. Nutcracker Suite, Op. 71a The Nutcracker Suite is a ballet that was performed for the first time in December 1892 in St. Petersburg. To begin with, the original ballet failed to attract a positive reception. However, the ballet suite became probably one of the most popular of all of Tchaikovsky’s works. The ballet suite became even more famous in the 1960s. It is now performed all over the world, particularly during the Christmas season. Â

French Horn,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549696 Composed by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Children,Christmas,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 14 pages. Jmsgu3 #3525275. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549696). Duration: ca. 1:42, 52 measures, Score: 7 pages, solo part: 2 pages, piano part: 4 pages. A popular Christmas favorite from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite.

French Horn,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.551616 Composed by Gabriel Faure. Arranged by James Guthrie, ASCAP. Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 16 pages. Jmsgu3 #5324393. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.551616). Gabriel Fauré: Nocturne, Op. 104, Molto moderatoNocturne is a musical composition inspired by or evocative of the night. The Irish composer John Field first used the term in the early 19th century to describe a type of character piece for piano intended to be played in the evening or at night. The term was later adopted by other composers, including Chopin and Fauré, who used it to describe their compositions. In the case of Fauré's Nocturne Op. 104, the title nocturne refers to the fact that it is a piece of music intended to be played at night or evocative of the night. The piece is characterized by its modal, incantatory theme, which seems to hark back to the plainchant that Fauré studied at the Niedermeyer School. Like other nocturnes in the set, it explores one predominant mood.Fauré's Nocturne Op. 104 and Chopin's nocturnes share some similarities, but they also have some differences. Fauré greatly admired the music of Chopin and was happy to compose in forms and patterns established by the earlier composer. Fauré's early nocturnes employ the same basic textures as Chopin's nocturnes, but Fauré's later works abandon this in favor of increasingly contrapuntal writing. Fauré also adopted ternary form as an essential form for the piece from Chopin. However, Fauré's melodies often show a rigorous motivic construction not found in Chopin. Fauré's nocturnes are, after Chopin's, among the most beautiful and beloved in music literature. In summary, while Fauré's nocturnes were influenced by Chopin's, they also have unique qualities that set them apart.

French Horn,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1046495 By Keith Terrett. By Giacomo Puccini. Arranged by Keith Terrett. Classical,Opera,Romantic Period. Score and part. 5 pages. Keith Terrett #651018. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1046495). An arrangement of one of Puccini’s greatest arias for French Horn & Piano. Great piece to improve trumpeter’s player’s bell canto style of playing. Take a listen to Conrad Gozzo’s playing on the Tutti Trumpet CD for a fine example! Quando me'n vo', also known as Musetta's Waltz, is a soprano aria, a waltz in act two of Puccini's 1896 opera La bohème. It is sung by Musetta, in the presence of her bohemian friends, hoping to reclaim the attention of her occasional boyfriend Marcello. This scene takes place at the Café Momus [fr]. Shortly after Mimì, Rodolfo, and their friends have taken seats for a drink, Marcello's former girlfriend, Musetta, shows up with her current patron, the elderly Alcindoro. They quarrel for a bit, then the episode begins as Musetta initiates her move on Marcello. She grabs the spotlight, musically speaking, for a short self-promoting aria (Quando me'n vo'). It is a song directed at the people in the café as much as at the audience in the theater. Popular renditions of the melody were produced during the 1950s, including an American Top 40 hit by Sammy Kaye (You) and a version by Della Reese (Don't You Know?), which reached number two on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. You will find more Italian arias and Neapolitan songs in my Sibelius & ArrangeMe stores.

French Horn,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.791236 By Neil Diamond. By Bob Russell and Bobby Scott. Arranged by Kevin P Holdgate. Pop. Score and part. 8 pages. Kevin P Holdgate #5771803. Published by Kevin P Holdgate (A0.791236). KPHMS 'Solo' CollectionHe Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother is a ballad written by Bobby Scott and Bob Russell. Originally recorded by Kelly Gordon in 1969, the song became a worldwide hit for The Hollies later that year and a minor hit for Neil Diamond in 1970. It has been recorded by many artists in subsequent years.Scott and Russell were introduced to each other by Johnny Mercer, at a California nightclub. Although Russell was dying of lymphoma and the pair met only three times, they managed to collaborate on the song. This is an arrangement as a solo with piano accompaniment that I would judge to be around Grade 5/6 standard for most instruments.
