Piano,Trombone - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.792371 Composed by Claude Debussy. Arranged by Sauer, Ralph. 20th Century,Romantic Period. Score and part. 20 pages. Gordon Cherry #4820019. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792371). One of the greatest works of the French impressionist era, PreÌlude aÌ€ l’apreÌ€s-midi d’un faune by Claude Debussy evokes mystery, stillness, lyricism, finesse, sensuality, nature, dreams and desires. Taken from a poem by SteÌphane MallarmeÌ this work is considered by some to be a turning point of musical history as an awakening of modern music as it stretches the limits of tonality. The work was later choreographed in 1912 by Nijinsky. This marvelous arrangement by Ralph Sauer is appropriate for advanced performers and is about 10 minutes in length.

Grieg: Hall of the Mountain King from Peer Gynt Suite for Trombone & Piano

Piano,Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549588 Composed by Edvard Grieg. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Instructional,Multicultural,Romantic Period,Standards,World. Score and part. 18 pages. Jmsgu3 #3511293. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549588). Duration: ca. 2:17 Score: 10 pages, solo part: 2 pages, piano part: 5 pages. A proven audience pleaser - perfect for a recital encore! Grieg Background In the first place, Edvard Grieg (1843 –1907) was a Norwegian composer as well as a concert pianist. As a matter of fact, most music historians consider him one of the foremost Romantic era composers. Consequently, his music is part of the international standard classical repertoire. Grieg moreover used Norwegian folk music in his own compositions.  Consequently, he ushered Norwegian music to transnational consciousness. Furthermore, he forged a national musical identity for Norway. It is important to realize that he did this in a manner similar to Jean Sibelius in Finland, and BedÅ™ich Smetana in Bohemia. Legacy Grieg is especially celebrated in the city of Bergen. For example, the city has erected numerous statues depicting Grieg. Specifically, the city has named a concert hall (Grieg Hall), a music school (Grieg Academy) and a professional choir (Edvard Grieg Kor) after him. As a matter of fact, there is also a museum located at his former home in Troldhaugen. Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 (Op. 46) Grieg wrote incidental music for the purpose of illustrating a play by Ibsen known as Peer Gynt. The play includes, in particular, the famous selection entitled, In the Hall of the Mountain King. In this composition, Grieg indeed depicts the exploits of the scoundrel, Peer Gynt. In one famous episode, for example, Peer steals a bride at her wedding. For this reason, the people chase him, but soon Peer falls, thereupon striking his skull on a boulder. He wakens forthwith in a highland bounded by angry gnomes. Consequently, the music of In the Hall of the Mountain King represents the mad gnomes taunting Peer. Therefore, each time the theme repeats it gets louder and faster. In the end, Peer surprisingly escapes from the mountain. Holberg Suite and Misc. Summary It must be remembered that Grieg originally wrote his Holberg Suite for the piano. In other words, he only later arranged it for strings. Further, Grieg composed by and large many songs with lyrics by famous writers such as Heine, Goethe, Ibsen, Hans Christian Andersen, Rudyard Kipling, and others. On balance, Norwegian pianist Eva Knardahl recorded altogether Grieg’s whole piano catalog on LP in 1980. These recordings were released again on CD in 2006. In any event, Grieg himself performed and recorded the bulk of these pieces toward the end of his life.  Â

Piano,Trombone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549853 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Baroque,Concert,Easter,Sacred,Standards. Score and part. 12 pages. Jmsgu3 #3555091. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549853). Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (Awake, the voice is calling us) from Cantata BWV 140. Duration: ca. 4:00, Score: 6 pages, solo part 1 page, piano part: 4 pages. Program this for church services during the Easter season, weddings, or as a recital encore.Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (Awake, the Voice is calling us) also known as: Sleepers Awake Bach composed his church cantata Wachet auf (BWV 140) as part of his second annual cantata cycle covering the entire annual church calendar. It is based on the hymn of the same name by Philipp Nicolai (1599). The hymn text covers the readings for the 27th Sunday after Trinity. Bach designed the cantata in seven movements, setting the stanzas in various forms. Among these forms are the chorale fantasia, the chorale prelude, and a four-part chorale. He casts the new lyrics as recitatives – in a manner similar to the opera. Fourth Movement Bach writes the fourth movement, Zion hört die Wächter singen (Zion hears the watchmen singing), in the style of a chorale prelude with the chorale phrases performed as a strict cantus firmus. The phrases seem to enter at times erratically against the famous lyrical melody. The violins play this melody in unison as a foil against the cantus phrases. The violin melody is so independent and complete that when the cantus melody appears it catches the listener at times totally off-guard. Bach later transcribed this movement for organ (BWV 645). This transcription became No. 1 of the Six Schübler Chorales. Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with the instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and certainly the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy, though, are the St. John Passion, and certainly the Christmas Oratorio. History Bach came from a long line of musicians and above all, composers. Consequently, he, first of all, pursued a career as a church organist. So as a result, he gained employment in various Protestant churches in Germany. For a while, he worked as a court musician in Weimar and Köthen. Here he probably developed his organ style and likewise his chamber music style. Eventually, he, therefore, gained an appointment as Cantor of St. Thomas in Leipzig. Here he worked until difficulties with his employer ultimately drove him away. The King of Poland finally appointed him as court composer. Style It seems like Bach created a fascinating new international style. He synthesized elements of the most noteworthy European music ideas into his new style. Even more, this new style was probably his synthesis of European musical rhythm and form. Furthermore, he demonstrated a complete mastery of counterpoint and motivic development. His sense of harmonic organization probably propelled him to the top. Revival Mendelssohn conducted a Bach revival in the nineteenth century. His effort probably helped to re-familiarize the public with the magnitude of Bach’s works. During this period, scholars published many noteworthy Bach biographies. Moreover, Wolfgang Schmieder published the BWV (Bach Werke Verzeichnis). As a result, this is now the official catalog of his entire artistic output. The BWV number allows us to locate a work in the catalog. Sometimes scholars will simply use an S (Schmieder) as an abbreviation for BWV. &n.

Too Much For Our Thirstby Alexander BurdissArranged for Trombone and PianoDedicated to Courtney CarmackPerformance Time: approx. 7:00This is an adaptation for trombone of a piece originally written for tuba. The Eyes of the Poor from Paris SpleenWritten by Charles Baudelaire, Translated by Arthur Symons Ah! you want to know why I hate you to-day. It will probably be less easy for you to understand than for me to explain it to you; for you are, I think, the most perfect example of feminine impenetrability that could possibly be found. We had spent a long day together, and it had seemed to me short. We had promised one another that we would think the same thoughts and that our two souls should become one soul; a dream which is not original, after all, except that, dreamed by all men, it has been realised by none. In the evening you were a little tired, and you sat down outside a new café at the corner of a new boulevard, still littered with plaster and already displaying proudly its unfinished splendours. The café glittered. The very gas put on all the fervency of a fresh start, and lighted up with its full force the blinding whiteness of the walls, the dazzling sheets of glass in the mirrors, the gilt of cornices and mouldings, the chubby-cheeked pages straining back from hounds in leash, the ladies laughing at the falcons on their wrists, the nymphs and goddesses carrying fruits and pies and game on their heads, the Hebes and Ganymedes holding out at arm's-length little jars of syrups or parti-coloured obelisks of ices; the whole of history and of mythology brought together to make a paradise for gluttons. Exactly opposite to us, in the roadway, stood a man of about forty years of age, with a weary face and a greyish beard, holding a little boy by one hand and carrying on the other arm a little fellow too weak to walk. He was taking the nurse-maid's place, and had brought his children out for a walk in the evening. All were in rags. The three faces were extraordinarily serious, and the six eyes stared fixedly at the new café with an equal admiration, differentiated in each according to age. The father's eyes said: How beautiful it is! how beautiful it is! One would think that all the gold of the poor world had found its way to these walls. The boy's eyes said: How beautiful it is! how beautiful it is! But that is a house which only people who are not like us can enter. As for the little one's eyes, they were too fascinated to express anything but stupid and utter joy. Song-writers say that pleasure ennobles the soul and softens the heart. The song was right that evening, so far as I was concerned. Not only was I touched by this family of eyes, but I felt rather ashamed of our glasses and decanters, so much too much for our thirst. I turned to look at you, dear love, that I might read my own thought in you; I gazed deep into your eyes, so beautiful and so strangely sweet, your green eyes that are the home of caprice and under the sovereignty of the Moon; and you said to me: Those people are insupportable to me with their staring saucer- eyes! Couldn't you tell the head waiter to send them away? So hard is it to understand one another, dearest, and so incommunicable is thought, even between people who are in love!

Piano,Trombone - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.548699 Composed by Franz Schubert. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christmas,Easter,Standards. Score and part. 4 pages. Jmsgu3 #3411147. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548699). A Trombone Christmas/Easter classic! Duration: 4:55 Score: 3 pg. Trombone part: 1 pg. Piano reads from the score. Schubert seems to have composed this piece as a song-setting. This is because he wanted to portray a poignant emotional event from a poem. The poem was Walter Scott's The Lady of the Lake. Consequently, this song became an integral part of Schubert's Song cycle. Therefore the cycle is called: the Lady of the Lake. In the poem, Ellen Douglas is the Lady of the Lake. The lake is probably Loch Katrine in the Scottish Highlands. First of all, Ellen goes with her father to stay in the Goblin's cave. They go because he earlier refused to join in a rebellion against King James. Roderick Dhu, the chief of the rebellious Alpine Clan, marches up the mountain with his army. But before the battle, he, first of all, hears Ellen singing. She is singing a prayer calling for help from the Virgin Mary. Schubert's piece was first performed at the castle of Countess Sophie Weissenwolff in Steyregg, Austria.  Schubert dedicated the arrangement to her, and as a result, she became famous as the lady of the lake. The incipit of Ellen's song is Ave Maria which is Latin for Hail Mary. It seems like this similarity led Schubert to adapt the melody to accommodate the Roman Catholic prayer Ave Maria. Consequently, the Latin version of Ave Maria finally became more famous than the original so that consequently many believe he wrote the Latin version first. Schubert Franz Schubert (1797–1828) was, in fact, a famous Austrian composer. Moreover, he composed during the late Classical and early Romantic periods. Schubert was comparatively prolific. He wrote more than 600 secular vocal works, seven symphonies, and, correspondingly, a massive amount of piano and chamber music. Critics agree, as a matter of fact, that his most famous works include his Piano Quintet in A major, D. 667 (also known as the Trout Quintet), the Symphony No. 8 in B minor, D. 759 (Unfinished Symphony), the last sonatas for piano (D. 958–960), and the song cycles Die schöne Müllerin (D. 795) and Winterreise (D. 911). Education Schubert was furthermore a musical child prodigy. He studied violin with his father as well as piano with his older brother. In addition, when Schubert was eleven he studied at Stadtkonvikt school, where he became familiar with the orchestral music of Haydn, Mozart, and likewise Beethoven. In due time he left school and returned home where he studied to become an educator; nevertheless, he continued studying composition with Antonio Salieri. Performance Eventually, Schubert was admitted to the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde as a performer. This appointment straightaway established his name in Vienna as a composer and pianist. Finally, he gave his only composition recital in 1828. He died suddenly a few months later probably due to typhoid fever. Legacy Schubert’s music was by and large underappreciated while he was alive. There were all in all only a few enthusiasts in Vienna. After he died, however, interest in his work in fact increased. Felix Mendelssohn, Robert Schumann, Franz Liszt, Johannes Brahms and other famous composers in due time discovered his compositions. Nowadays, historians rank Schubert expressly among the greatest composers of the era, and his music remains in general very popular. Â

Piano,Trombone - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.548503 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christian,Christmas. Score and part. 4 pages. Jmsgu3 #3387395. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548503). The First Noel arranged for Trombone & Piano with new harmony for the final verse.Origins The First Noel is an English Christmas carol. Even more, it was probably written in the late Cornish Renaissance period. While other versions spell the title as Nowell, this is just a colloquial variation. Furthermore, Noel is an older word meaning Christmas. Therefore the First Noel translates as the First Christmas. First of all, Gilbert and Sandy published the earliest version. As a result, this version appears in the Carols Ancient and Modern songbook of 1823. William Sandy edited and arranged the book. Similarly, his partner Davies Gilbert edited and added the familiar extra verses. The First Noel: Trombone Version comes with new harmony in final verse for more energy and drive. Stainer Organist and composer Sir John Stainer published the most noteworthy customary arrangement in the 1870’s. Stainer is above all famous for his songbook entitled: Christmas Carols New and Old (1871). This volume served as an important catalyst for reviving the English Christmas carol. Other famous Stainer arrangements from this book are such titles as What Child Is This, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Good King Wenceslas, and I Saw Three Ships. Diatonic Function The melodic structure in the First Noel is uncommon among English folk tunes. It simply repeats one phrase twice then follows a variation refrain. All three phrases of the song end on the mediant scale degree. This is unusual because the diatonic function of the mediant is non-final compared to the more usual tonic or even dominant degrees. Consequently, this gives the song as kind of open-ended feeling – like maybe it never really ends. Political Context The Catholic clergy sang carols outside of the church in Latin. After the Protestant Reformation, the reformers thought it would be better for everyone to sing carols. They decided to bring music back to the common folk. So, they translated the lyrics from Latin into common language. Moreover, the Protestants wanted more control over the music in church than what the Vatican allowed. Protestant composers such as William Byrd composed complex polyphonic Christmas music that they called carols. Nonetheless, some famous folk carols were composed in this era. Eminent composers in the nineteenth century began to revise and adapt them. Consequently, they revived the English carol. Register for free lifetime updates and revisions at www.jamesguthrie.com

Piano,Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549391 Composed by George Frideric Handel. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Baroque,Sacred,Standards,Wedding. Score and part. 9 pages. Jmsgu3 #3492557. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549391). Duration: 4:55, Score: 6 pages, Solo part: 1 page, piano part: 2 pages. A very famous aria (Ombra mai fu) from XerxesSuitable for any venue requiring meditative music. Excellent choice for a recital encore. Xerxes Xerxes is, in fact, an opera seria in three acts by Handel. Moreover, Handel conducted the premiere performance in London in 1738. Handel casts the opera in Persia in 470 BC. The part of Xerxes was indeed originally sung by a soprano castrato. Nowadays, the part is generally sung by a mezzo-soprano or conversely a counter-tenor. In the first place, Xerxes sings an opening aria, Ombra mai fu to a plane tree. Handel sets this aria to one of his most truly famous melodies. Although many refer to it traditionally as Handel’s Largo, Handel has, on the contrary, clearly marked Larghetto in the score. Handel Background George Frideric Handel (1685 - 1759) was born in Germany but eventually became a British citizen. Nonetheless, he was a famous Baroque composer. In fact, he became famous for his operas, oratorios, anthems, and organ concertos. Handel studied music and, by and large, worked as a composer in Germany and Italy before moving to London. Overall, Handel was very familiar with the contemporary music of Italy and Germany. Career in England It is important to realize that Italian opera was all the rage in England at the time. Moreover, Handel was really good at writing them. Therefore, he started not one but three opera companies in England. Alexander's Feast was a huge success in 1736, but Handel nevertheless began composing English choral works. After success with the Messiah in 1742) he certainly never again wrote an Italian opera. Consequently, he died in 1759, a treasured genius. Accordingly, the English government gave him full state honors at his funeral. Hence, he is buried in Westminster Abbey in London. Legacy Music historians agree that Handel was one of the greatest composers of the Baroque era.  To demonstrate, his works such as the Messiah, Water Music, and Music for the Royal Fireworks remain consistently popular up to the present time. He composed the coronation anthem, Zadok the Priest for the coronation of George II. Nevertheless, it has specifically been performed at every succeeding British coronation since. His oratorio Solomon has by all means also continued to be prevalent. As a matter of fact, Sinfonia from act 3 was featured in the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony. Handel was particularly prolific. To enumerate, he wrote over forty operas.  Since the late 1960s, we have expressly experienced a revival of baroque music. Similarly, we have seen a pique of interest in historically informed musical performances. Since his death in 1779, interest in Handel's music has all in all, expanded. Â

Bach: Bist du bei mir BWV 508 for Trombone & Piano

Piano,Trombone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549221 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Baroque,Holiday,Standards,Wedding. Score and part. 9 pages. Jmsgu3 #3468176. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549221). J. S. Bach BWV 508. Bist du bei mir Bach adapted this aria from a lost Stölzel opera called Diomedes. He changed the original orchestral instrumentation to soprano, strings, and continuo.  He also modified the voice-leading making it sound more like a Bach composition. The work appears as BWV 508 No. 25 in the Anna Magdalena Notebook No. 2.  Source Only a few remnants of the original opera have survived. Historians speculate that Anna Magdalena got the song from the Leipzig Opera after the bankruptcy of 1720. Chances are good, though, that the tune was a favorite of everyone in Leipzig at the time.  Lyrics When thou art near, I go with joyTo death and to my rest.O how joyous would my end be,If your fair hands      Would close my faithful eyes. - Unknown Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and certainly the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy are the St. John Passion, and indeed the Christmas Oratorio. Voyager NASA launched two Voyager spacecraft in 1977. Onboard are phonograph records with sounds, music, and images of life on Earth. The purpose of the launch was to inform intelligent extraterrestrial life forms about conditions on Earth. The music on the disc is varied. There is Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Stravinsky among others. However, because Bach is so important in our music history, it contains three times more Bach than all the others combined. Â

Piano,Trombone - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.811191 Composed by Mark Narins. 20th Century,Contemporary,Romantic Period. Score and part. 101 pages. Gordon Cherry #6069485. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.811191). Cherry Classics is pleased to introduce Concerto for Trombone and Orchestra 2020 (Piano reduction) by San Francisco based composer/conductor Mark Narins. The concerto is in 4 movements: I. Prayer, II. Meditation, III. Call and Response, IV. Exaltation Here is a description of the work by Mark Narins, the composer: Prayer: The first movement starts with a shimmering tremolo in the strings over which the silver voice of the trombone plays an arching phrase that lingers on an extended appoggiatura. The trombone is a lone mystic reaching for the sky and then falling perilously down to the pedal register. Later the orchestra breaks into a frenetic vamp over which the trombone plays intense ascending scales and passage work. The movement ends with an ascent to a high C#, moving to a final ringing high C. Meditation: After the harp lays out a series of arpeggiated chords, the trombone plays a warm, rich theme in the middle range. The following episodes are variations on this theme. The trombone moves into the upper register, floating with the ease of a lead trombone in a big band. The movement ends with an ascending yearning phrase reaching a high D as the soloist touches the sky and then comes gently back to earth. Call and Response: The orchestral accompaniment starts in an anxious, mysterious tonality. The trombone enters with a burst of energy playing a machine gun series of Fs. The movement develops into a series of short brilliant solo passages answered boldly by the orchestra. This movement showcases the stunning declamatory powers of the trombone. Exaltation: Movement 4 starts as an allegro with intense tremolos in the basses. The trombone breaks out into an articulated driving theme followed by several extended melodic passages. Midway in the movement the strings abruptly lay out a syncopated Latin dance rhythm over which the trombone climbs from the bottom to the top of its range in rapid triplets. In the final codetta the trombone accelerates the dance tempo and climaxes on a series of high C#s in a brilliant and joyous fashion. The concerto is 27 minutes in duration and is appropriate for advanced performers. This version with Piano is a reduction of the full Orchestral version (to be published in the near future). The new Trombone Concerto by Mark Narins is a very exciting piece with dramatic contrasts between the slow and fast sections. The move to the finish of the piece makes for a great wrap-up. It's a real blow for the player, really exploring the range of the instrument. It will be demanding and fun for the trombonist. Ken Andresen, New York freelance musician

Piano,Tenor Trombone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1502105 Composed by Keiko Takashima. Classical,Contest,Festival. Score and part. 27 pages. FOSTERMUSIC.JP Digital Publishing #1077976. Published by FOSTERMUSIC.JP Digital Publishing (A0.1502105). THREE ANCIENT CAPITALS was originally written for Trombone Quartet Zipang in 2007. It was published just after its premiere in December of that year, and I am very glad that it has been played by a number of trombone quartets since then. Following its publication, a female trombonist uttered, “Although quartet is fun, it would be also enjoyable if it was played solo, wouldn’t it? “ and this brought the opportunity for this “solo trombone version” to be born. The whole work consists of three pieces. They were written based on my impression of each place when I visited them. 1. Kamakura: In the Hydrangea Temple I visited Meigetsu-in Temple, which is well-known as “Hydrangea Temple,” on a rainy day in June. There I saw colorful beautiful hydrangeas in full bloom, struck by gentle rain. The motif which is repeated many times in the piece represents each hydrangea. 2. Nara: Consecration of the Great Buddda Among the Great Buddhas all over, Rushana-butsu in Todai-ji Temple in Nara, which is 16 meters tall, is the most famous.I imagined the solemn scene of the Consecration Mass of Great Buddha. 3. Kyoto: The Golden Pavilion in the Sunset It was toward dusk when I visited the Rokuon-ji Temple, known as “Temple of Golden Pavilion,” which was built by Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, the third shogun in the Muromachi period. It shined like gold in the light reflected by the setting sun.It was fun for me to arrange the trombone quartet into solo trombone with piano, and I chose every single note carefully while building the relationship between the trombone and piano. I hope the audience will enjoy a different experience from the original quartet. I hope this work, born by Zipangu Quartet, will be loved by more people beyond the frame of its original setting. Performance Time: 12’00” PROFILE: Keiko Takashima Keiko Takashima was born in Takamatsu, Kagawa in 1962 and grew up mainly in Hiroshima. She began taking piano lessons at the age of four and enjoyed chorus as a club activity in junior and senior high school. She started learning harmony and composition theory while she was in high school and enrolled in the composition department at Tokyo University of the Arts of Music in 1982. After graduation, in the wake of providing new arrangements of CHANSON JAPONAISE (YUYAKE-KOYAKE) and FANTASIE (WARABE-UTA) as encore pieces for the Paris Trombone Quartet for their first tour to Japan, she has written many works for trombone. Her repertoire for trombone quartet includes PASSEPIED, MEMORIES, SQUARE DANCE, THREE ANCIENT CAPITALS, THE INTERSECTION OF CROSSING PATHS, SONG OF HOMETOWN, JAPANESE FOUR SEASONS, DOGWOOD PRAYER, and BEYOND THE SANDY HILL. She also wrote for solo trombone and piano: FANTASY ON ITSUKI LULLABY, which is included in Mr. Michel Becquet’s solo album, as well as BREEZE IN THE HEARTS - BLOOM IN THE WORLD, IN THE QUIET OF THE NIGHT, and HEAR THE SPRING CALLING. Her choral works are TOKI-SOBA (for mixed chorus) based on Japanese comic storytelling, LOVE IN KYOTO (suite for female chorus, lyrics by Madoka Mayuzumi), and FLOWER TIDING (lyrics by Urara Takahashi). PIANO RECITAL STORY, a suite for piano, is also on sale at PTNA Musse.jp (a music delivery service on the Internet).Ms. Takashima also wrote the fanfares for the opening and closing ceremonies at the National Sports Festival, held in Hiroshima in 1998. B-Flat trombone,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1431109 Composed by Keiko Takashima. Classical. Score and part. 35 pages. FOSTERMUSIC.JP Digital Publishing #1011578. Published by FOSTERMUSIC.JP Digital Publishing (A0.1431109). INTRODUCTION Breeze in The Hearts, Bloom in The World is a sonata for trombone and piano commissioned by trombonist Takenori Yoshikawa that premiered at Mr. Yoshikawa's recital in July 2010 with Iku Miwa on piano. Mr. Yoshikawa had requested me to compose a bold and spirited piece, which prompted me to write this sonata with four movements after much deliberation. In the original edition, the burden of the performance was a little too focused on the trombone due to the trombonist's heightened interest in the piece, and as a result, the piece became difficult to play. In this revised edition, I have reworked the balance between the trombone and the piano while preserving the length of the piece so that the music can be performed more effectively.<Performance notes>I. The repetitions of the gentle melody in the introduction should be played in a way that allows it to be heard from far away, while the theme that appears after that should sound majestic and brave.II. Nostalgia - Although this movement is in a minor key, the music seeks to depict a sense of nostalgia instead of sorrow. Despite its slow, triple-time rhythm, please ensure that the music progresses quietly without coming to a halt.III. Serenade - In this movement, the trombone's melody should have a smooth and lively rhythm like the cello in a string ensemble. Articulate the melody beautifully with grace and movement and never allow it to become too heavy.IV. The theme in this movement has a similar feel to that in the first movement, but lighter. Maintain a tempo that is not too fast and keep the music moving. In the coda section from F, the opening section of the first theme makes an appearance from time to time as the piece heads toward the end. Please maintain a constant tempo while articulating the notes in a loud and resonant manner. The piano part contains many sections throughout the entire piece that call for a deep, orchestral sound. The pianist should read these parts carefully from the score while supporting the trombone as much as possible. The word fuka in the Japanese title Fuka Sanrei refer to the flowers that bloom when the wind blows between two people and brings about various encounters between them. I hope that this piece will allow colorful flowers to bloom in the hearts of everyone who performs it and listens to it.March 2023, Keiko TakashimaClick here for other Takashima's works

Piano,Trombone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.551509 Composed by Edvard Grieg. Arranged by James Guthrie, ASCAP. Halloween,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 61 pages. Jmsgu3 #5306349. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.551509). 1. Morning Mood, 2. Ase's Death, 3. Anitra's Dance, 4. In the Hall of the Mountain King  Grieg Background In the first place, Edvard Grieg (1843 –1907) was a Norwegian composer as well as a concert pianist. It is important to realize that he did this in a manner similar to Jean Sibelius in Finland, and Bedřich Smetana in Bohemia. Legacy Grieg is celebrated in the city of Bergen.

Richard Galliano is a French accordionist of Italian heritage. Piano,Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.592554 Composed by Jule Styne. Arranged by David McKeown. Contemporary. Score and part. 6 pages. David McKeown #6366367. Published by David McKeown (A0.592554). It’s Been a Long Long Time is arranged as a solo for one Trombone with Piano accompaniment. It’s Been a Long Long Time is best known to modern audiences as the song at the end of The Avengers, Endgame, where Steve Rogers, after seventy years, finally gets his dance with Peggy Carter. The song of course, is much older. Two versions of It’s Been a Long Long Time topped the charts in late 1945, and as US servicemen returned from Europe and the Pacific, it perfectly caught the mood of the times. One version was by Bing Crosby, and the other by the Harry James Orchestra featuring Kitty Kallen on vocals. It is the latter version that is heard in Endgame and the one that forms the basis of this arrangement.Musicians at an intermediate standard will find It’s Been a Long Long Time ideal for formal and informal concert performances. with both solo instrument and piano enjoying plenty of melodic interest. The separate solo part is included with the piano score in the same pdf file. The overall performance time is just over two and a half minutes. Click the link above to listen to a full performance of the clarinet version on YouTube. To keep up with new titles, search for Dave McKeown Sheet Music Downloads on Facebook. There are many more top quality arrangements and compositions by David McKeown for you to browse at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/david-mckeown/6203

Grieg: Ase's Death from Peer Gynt Suite for Trombone & Piano
Trombone et Piano
Piano,Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549546 Composed by Edvard Grieg…
(+)
Piano,Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549546 Composed by Edvard Grieg. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Concert,Contemporary,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and part. 11 pages. Jmsgu3 #3506339. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549546). Duration: ca. 4:00, Score: 9 pages, solo part: 3 pages, piano part: 4 pages. Super-famous instantly recognizable tune, not very difficult - suitable for a recital or church meditation. It is important to realize that he did this in a manner similar to Jean Sibelius in Finland, and Bedřich Smetana in Bohemia. In any event, Grieg himself performed and recorded the bulk of these pieces toward the end of his life.Register for free lifetime revisions and updates at www.jamesguthrie.com
