Piano,Trombone - Level 5 - SKU: A0.792371 Composed by Claude Debussy. Arranged by Sauer, Ralph. 20th Century,Romantic Period. Score and part. 20 pages. Gordon Cherry #4820019. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792371). One of the greatest works of the French impressionist era, PreÌlude aÌ€ l’apreÌ€s-midi d’un faune by Claude Debussy evokes mystery, stillness, lyricism, finesse, sensuality, nature, dreams and desires. Taken from a poem by SteÌphane MallarmeÌ this work is considered by some to be a turning point of musical history as an awakening of modern music as it stretches the limits of tonality. The work was later choreographed in 1912 by Nijinsky. This marvelous arrangement by Ralph Sauer is appropriate for advanced performers and is about 10 minutes in length.

Piano,Trombone - Level 2 - SKU: A0.549221 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Baroque,Holiday,Standards,Wedding. Score and part. 9 pages. Jmsgu3 #3468176. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549221). J. S. Bach BWV 508. Bist du bei mir Bach adapted this aria from a lost Stölzel opera called Diomedes. He changed the original orchestral instrumentation to soprano, strings, and continuo.  He also modified the voice-leading making it sound more like a Bach composition. The work appears as BWV 508 No. 25 in the Anna Magdalena Notebook No. 2.  Source Only a few remnants of the original opera have survived. Historians speculate that Anna Magdalena got the song from the Leipzig Opera after the bankruptcy of 1720. Chances are good, though, that the tune was a favorite of everyone in Leipzig at the time.  Lyrics When thou art near, I go with joyTo death and to my rest.O how joyous would my end be,If your fair hands      Would close my faithful eyes. - Unknown Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and certainly the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy are the St. John Passion, and indeed the Christmas Oratorio.  History Bach came from a long line of musicians and above all, composers. Consequently, he, first of all, pursued a career as a church organist. So as a result, he gained employment in various Protestant churches in Germany. For a while, he worked as a court musician in Weimar and Köthen. Here he probably developed his organ style and likewise his chamber music style. Eventually, he, therefore, gained an appointment as Cantor of St. Thomas in Leipzig. Here he worked until difficulties with his employer ultimately drove him away. The King of Poland finally appointed him as court composer.  Style It seems like Bach created a fascinating new international style. He synthesized elements of the most noteworthy European music ideas into his new style. Even more, this new style was probably his synthesis of European musical rhythm and form. Furthermore, he demonstrated a complete mastery of counterpoint and motivic development. His sense of harmonic organization probably propelled him to the top. Revival        Mendelssohn conducted a Bach revival in the nineteenth century. His effort probably helped to re-familiarize the public with the magnitude of Bach’s works. During this period, scholars published many noteworthy Bach biographies. Moreover, Wolfgang Schmieder published the BWV (Bach Werke Verzeichnis). As a result, this is now the official catalog of his entire artistic output. The BWV number allows us to locate a work in the catalog. Sometimes scholars will simply use an S (Schmieder) as an abbreviation for BWV.  Voyager NASA launched two Voyager spacecraft in 1977. Onboard are phonograph records with sounds, music, and images of life on Earth. The purpose of the launch was to inform intelligent extraterrestrial life forms about conditions on Earth. The music on the disc is varied. There is Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Stravinsky among others. However, because Bach is so important in our music history, it contains three times more Bach than all the others combined. Â

Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549853). Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (Awake, the voice is calling us) from Cantata BWV 140. Duration: ca. 4:00, Score: 6 pages, solo part 1 page, piano part: 4 pages. Program this for church services during the Easter season, weddings, or as a recital encore.Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (Awake, the Voice is calling us) also known as: Sleepers Awake Bach composed his church cantata Wachet auf (BWV 140) as part of his second annual cantata cycle covering the entire annual church calendar. It is based on the hymn of the same name by Philipp Nicolai (1599). The hymn text covers the readings for the 27th Sunday after Trinity. Bach designed the cantata in seven movements, setting the stanzas in various forms. Among these forms are the chorale fantasia, the chorale prelude, and a four-part chorale. He casts the new lyrics as recitatives – in a manner similar to the opera. Fourth Movement Bach writes the fourth movement, Zion hört die Wächter singen (Zion hears the watchmen singing), in the style of a chorale prelude with the chorale phrases performed as a strict cantus firmus. The phrases seem to enter at times erratically against the famous lyrical melody. The violins play this melody in unison as a foil against the cantus phrases. The violin melody is so independent and complete that when the cantus melody appears it catches the listener at times totally off-guard. Bach later transcribed this movement for organ (BWV 645). This transcription became No. 1 of the Six Schübler Chorales. Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549391). Duration: 4:55, Score: 6 pages, Solo part: 1 page, piano part: 2 pages. A very famous aria (Ombra mai fu) from XerxesSuitable for any venue requiring meditative music. Excellent choice for a recital encore. Xerxes Xerxes is, in fact, an opera seria in three acts by Handel. Moreover, Handel conducted the premiere performance in London in 1738. Handel casts the opera in Persia in 470 BC. The part of Xerxes was indeed originally sung by a soprano castrato. Nowadays, the part is generally sung by a mezzo-soprano or conversely a counter-tenor. In the first place, Xerxes sings an opening aria, Ombra mai fu to a plane tree. Handel sets this aria to one of his most truly famous melodies. Although many refer to it traditionally as Handel’s Largo, Handel has, on the contrary, clearly marked Larghetto in the score. Handel Background George Frideric Handel (1685 - 1759) was born in Germany but eventually became a British citizen. Nonetheless, he was a famous Baroque composer. In fact, he became famous for his operas, oratorios, anthems, and organ concertos. Handel studied music and, by and large, worked as a composer in Germany and Italy before moving to London. Overall, Handel was very familiar with the contemporary music of Italy and Germany. Career in England It is important to realize that Italian opera was all the rage in England at the time. Moreover, Handel was really good at writing them. Therefore, he started not one but three opera companies in England. Alexander's Feast was a huge success in 1736, but Handel nevertheless began composing English choral works. After success with the Messiah in 1742) he certainly never again wrote an Italian opera. Consequently, he died in 1759, a treasured genius. Accordingly, the English government gave him full state honors at his funeral. Hence, he is buried in Westminster Abbey in London. Legacy Music historians agree that Handel was one of the greatest composers of the Baroque era.  To demonstrate, his works such as the Messiah, Water Music, and Music for the Royal Fireworks remain consistently popular up to the present time. He composed the coronation anthem, Zadok the Priest for the coronation of George II. Nevertheless, it has specifically been performed at every succeeding British coronation since. His oratorio Solomon has by all means also continued to be prevalent. As a matter of fact, Sinfonia from act 3 was featured in the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony. Handel was particularly prolific. To enumerate, he wrote over forty operas.  Since the late 1960s, we have expressly experienced a revival of baroque music. Similarly, we have seen a pique of interest in historically informed musical performances. Since his death in 1779, interest in Handel's music has all in all, expanded. Â

Piano,Tenor Trombone - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1502105 Composed by Keiko Takashima. Classical,Contest,Festival. Score and part. 27 pages. FOSTERMUSIC.JP Digital Publishing #1077976. Published by FOSTERMUSIC.JP Digital Publishing (A0.1502105). THREE ANCIENT CAPITALS was originally written for Trombone Quartet Zipang in 2007. It was published just after its premiere in December of that year, and I am very glad that it has been played by a number of trombone quartets since then. Following its publication, a female trombonist uttered, “Although quartet is fun, it would be also enjoyable if it was played solo, wouldn’t it? “ and this brought the opportunity for this “solo trombone version” to be born. The whole work consists of three pieces. They were written based on my impression of each place when I visited them. 1. Kamakura: In the Hydrangea Temple I visited Meigetsu-in Temple, which is well-known as “Hydrangea Temple,” on a rainy day in June. There I saw colorful beautiful hydrangeas in full bloom, struck by gentle rain. The motif which is repeated many times in the piece represents each hydrangea. 2. Nara: Consecration of the Great Buddda Among the Great Buddhas all over, Rushana-butsu in Todai-ji Temple in Nara, which is 16 meters tall, is the most famous.I imagined the solemn scene of the Consecration Mass of Great Buddha. 3. Kyoto: The Golden Pavilion in the Sunset It was toward dusk when I visited the Rokuon-ji Temple, known as “Temple of Golden Pavilion,” which was built by Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, the third shogun in the Muromachi period. It shined like gold in the light reflected by the setting sun.It was fun for me to arrange the trombone quartet into solo trombone with piano, and I chose every single note carefully while building the relationship between the trombone and piano. I hope the audience will enjoy a different experience from the original quartet. I hope this work, born by Zipangu Quartet, will be loved by more people beyond the frame of its original setting. Performance Time: 12’00” PROFILE: Keiko Takashima Keiko Takashima was born in Takamatsu, Kagawa in 1962 and grew up mainly in Hiroshima. She began taking piano lessons at the age of four and enjoyed chorus as a club activity in junior and senior high school. B-Flat trombone,Piano - Level 5 - SKU: A0.1431109 Composed by Keiko Takashima. Classical. Score and part. 35 pages. FOSTERMUSIC.JP Digital Publishing #1011578. Published by FOSTERMUSIC.JP Digital Publishing (A0.1431109). INTRODUCTION Breeze in The Hearts, Bloom in The World is a sonata for trombone and piano commissioned by trombonist Takenori Yoshikawa that premiered at Mr. Yoshikawa's recital in July 2010 with Iku Miwa on piano. Mr. Yoshikawa had requested me to compose a bold and spirited piece, which prompted me to write this sonata with four movements after much deliberation. In the original edition, the burden of the performance was a little too focused on the trombone due to the trombonist's heightened interest in the piece, and as a result, the piece became difficult to play. In this revised edition, I have reworked the balance between the trombone and the piano while preserving the length of the piece so that the music can be performed more effectively.<Performance notes>I. The repetitions of the gentle melody in the introduction should be played in a way that allows it to be heard from far away, while the theme that appears after that should sound majestic and brave.II. Nostalgia - Although this movement is in a minor key, the music seeks to depict a sense of nostalgia instead of sorrow. Despite its slow, triple-time rhythm, please ensure that the music progresses quietly without coming to a halt.III. Serenade - In this movement, the trombone's melody should have a smooth and lively rhythm like the cello in a string ensemble. Articulate the melody beautifully with grace and movement and never allow it to become too heavy.IV. The theme in this movement has a similar feel to that in the first movement, but lighter. Maintain a tempo that is not too fast and keep the music moving. In the coda section from F, the opening section of the first theme makes an appearance from time to time as the piece heads toward the end. Please maintain a constant tempo while articulating the notes in a loud and resonant manner. The piano part contains many sections throughout the entire piece that call for a deep, orchestral sound. The pianist should read these parts carefully from the score while supporting the trombone as much as possible. The word fuka in the Japanese title Fuka Sanrei refer to the flowers that bloom when the wind blows between two people and brings about various encounters between them. I hope that this piece will allow colorful flowers to bloom in the hearts of everyone who performs it and listens to it.March 2023, Keiko TakashimaClick here for other Takashima's works

Published by Nagamon Publications (A0.1510803). Charles-Camille Saint-Saëns (9 October 1835 – 16 December 1921) was a French composer, organist, conductor and pianist of the Romantic era. Saint-Saëns was a musical prodigy; he made his concert debut at the age of ten. After studying at the Paris Conservatoire he followed a conventional career as a church organist, first at Saint-Merri, Paris and, from 1858, La Madeleine, the official church of the French Empire. After leaving the post twenty years later, he was a successful freelance pianist and composer, in demand in Europe and the Americas. This delightful short work works well as a lyrical exercise, as well as being able to fit into any recital situation.

Arabesque and Danse bohémienne are two lovely early piano works by Claude Debussy that arranger Ralph Sauer has melded together into a suite for Trombone and Piano suitable for moderately advanced performers.Arabesque is number one of two that the composer wrote between 1888 and 1891. It is one of the very early impressionist pieces of music. Debussy seems to wander through modes and keys and achieves evocative scenes throughout. (Wikipedia)Danse bohémienne is his earliest work for piano from 1880, written while he was acting as house pianist for Tchaikovsky's patroness, Nadezhad von Meck. It is a rhythmic and energetic work that was not published until after Debussy's death.

Piano,Trombone - Level 1 - SKU: A0.548699 Composed by Franz Schubert. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christmas,Easter,Standards. Score and part. 4 pages. Jmsgu3 #3411147. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548699). A Trombone Christmas/Easter classic! Duration: 4:55 Score: 3 pg. Trombone part: 1 pg. Piano reads from the score. Schubert seems to have composed this piece as a song-setting. This is because he wanted to portray a poignant emotional event from a poem. The poem was Walter Scott's The Lady of the Lake. Consequently, this song became an integral part of Schubert's Song cycle. Therefore the cycle is called: the Lady of the Lake. In the poem, Ellen Douglas is the Lady of the Lake. The lake is probably Loch Katrine in the Scottish Highlands. First of all, Ellen goes with her father to stay in the Goblin's cave. They go because he earlier refused to join in a rebellion against King James. Roderick Dhu, the chief of the rebellious Alpine Clan, marches up the mountain with his army. But before the battle, he, first of all, hears Ellen singing. She is singing a prayer calling for help from the Virgin Mary. Schubert's piece was first performed at the castle of Countess Sophie Weissenwolff in Steyregg, Austria.  Schubert dedicated the arrangement to her, and as a result, she became famous as the lady of the lake. The incipit of Ellen's song is Ave Maria which is Latin for Hail Mary. It seems like this similarity led Schubert to adapt the melody to accommodate the Roman Catholic prayer Ave Maria. Consequently, the Latin version of Ave Maria finally became more famous than the original so that consequently many believe he wrote the Latin version first. Schubert Franz Schubert (1797–1828) was, in fact, a famous Austrian composer. Moreover, he composed during the late Classical and early Romantic periods. Schubert was comparatively prolific. He wrote more than 600 secular vocal works, seven symphonies, and, correspondingly, a massive amount of piano and chamber music. Critics agree, as a matter of fact, that his most famous works include his Piano Quintet in A major, D. 667 (also known as the Trout Quintet), the Symphony No. 8 in B minor, D. 759 (Unfinished Symphony), the last sonatas for piano (D. 958–960), and the song cycles Die schöne Müllerin (D. 795) and Winterreise (D. 911). Education Schubert was furthermore a musical child prodigy. He studied violin with his father as well as piano with his older brother. In addition, when Schubert was eleven he studied at Stadtkonvikt school, where he became familiar with the orchestral music of Haydn, Mozart, and likewise Beethoven. In due time he left school and returned home where he studied to become an educator; nevertheless, he continued studying composition with Antonio Salieri. Performance Eventually, Schubert was admitted to the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde as a performer. This appointment straightaway established his name in Vienna as a composer and pianist. Finally, he gave his only composition recital in 1828. He died suddenly a few months later probably due to typhoid fever. Legacy Schubert’s music was by and large underappreciated while he was alive. There were all in all only a few enthusiasts in Vienna. After he died, however, interest in his work in fact increased. Felix Mendelssohn, Robert Schumann, Franz Liszt, Johannes Brahms and other famous composers in due time discovered his compositions. Nowadays, historians rank Schubert expressly among the greatest composers of the era, and his music remains in general very popular. Â

Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792223). The Sonatina for Trombone & Piano was originally published after its composition, but soon became lost. It has recently been brought back into the repertoire. Cherry Classics Music is proud to be bringing this very fine work back to life. The style of this 3 movement work is similar to the well known Sonatina for Trombone and Piano by Serocki. Miroslav Krejci was born on the 4th of November, 1891 in Rychnov nad Kn??nou (a small town situated in the eastern part of Bohemia of the Czech Republic). There, he also attended high school. After graduation he travelled to Prague, studying natural science, geography and musicology at Charles University. At the Conservatory he studied composition under Vitezslav Novak. Krejci also became a teacher at a few grammar schools in the Czech republic. He died on the 29th of December 1964 in Prague. Miroslav Krejci created music for many various ensembles and his compositions are among the most prolific of Czech composers. For example, he composed the following: two Operas: The Summer and The Last Hetman, two Symphonies, string quartets, sonatas for violins, trios for wind instruments, sonatinas for brasswind instruments and piano and five piano cycles. He wrote many vocal compositions, especially for chorus. Krejci also created many arrangements of folk songs for chorus and for solo voice with piano accompaniment. The Sonatina for Trombone and Piano was composed in 1948. It was first performed on the occasion of the composer's birthday.

The opera Prince Igor is possibly his greatest and boldest work with many beautiful melodies coming forth, especially the Chorus and Dance of the Polovetsain Maidens. The music has an mysterious Eastern sound which is very captivating. There is nothing like this written for the Trombone and Mr. Sauer’s arrangement is wonderful. This work is about 7 minutes in length for advanced performers.

I Write the Songs is a popular song written by Bruce Johnston in 1975 and made famous by Barry Manilow. Manilow's version reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in January 1976[2] after spending two weeks atop the Billboard adult contemporary chart in December 1975.[3] It won a Grammy Award for Song of the Year and was nominated for Record of the Year in 1977.[3] Billboard ranked it as the No. 13 song of 1976.[4]The original version was recorded by The Captain & Tennille, who worked with Johnston in the early 1970s with The Beach Boys. It appears on their 1975 album, Love Will Keep Us Together. The first release of I Write the Songs as a single was by then teen-idol David Cassidy from his 1975 solo album The Higher They Climb, which was also produced by Bruce Johnston. Cassidy's version reached #11 on the UK Singles Chart in August of that year.[5]Johnston has stated that, for him, the I in the song is God,[2] and that songs come from the spirit of creativity in all of us. He has said that the song is not about his Beach Boys bandmate Brian Wilson.[6]Manilow was initially reluctant to record the song, stating in his autobiography Sweet Life: The problem with the song was that if you didn't listen carefully to the lyric, you would think that the singer was singing about himself. It could be misinterpreted as a monumental ego trip.[3] After persuasion by Clive Davis, then president of Arista Records, Manilow recorded the song, and his version of I Write the Songs was the first single taken from the album Tryin' to Get the Feeling. It first charted on the Billboard Hot 100 on November 15, 1975, reaching the top of the chart nine weeks later, on January 17, 1976. Wikipedia

Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792633). The Petite Suite, published in 1885, is Borodin's major work for the Piano and originally comprised of seven movements. Mr. Sauer's arrangement incorporates three of them: Intermezzo, Rêverie and Sérénade. The Petite Suite was dedicated to the Belgian Countess Louise de Mercy-Argenteau, who was a supporter of Borodin and his music. After Borodin's death in 1887, Glazunov orchestrated the Suite. The music has that Eastern flavor so indicative of Borodin's melodies, mysterious, lyrical and subtle. Advanced performers will enjoy this work which has been so beautifully arranged by Mr. Sauer.

Piano,Trombone - Level 5 - SKU: A0.811191 Composed by Mark Narins. 20th Century,Contemporary,Romantic Period. Score and part. 101 pages. Gordon Cherry #6069485. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.811191). Cherry Classics is pleased to introduce Concerto for Trombone and Orchestra 2020 (Piano reduction) by San Francisco based composer/conductor Mark Narins. The concerto is in 4 movements: I. Prayer, II. Meditation, III. Call and Response, IV. Exaltation Here is a description of the work by Mark Narins, the composer: Prayer: The first movement starts with a shimmering tremolo in the strings over which the silver voice of the trombone plays an arching phrase that lingers on an extended appoggiatura. The trombone is a lone mystic reaching for the sky and then falling perilously down to the pedal register. Later the orchestra breaks into a frenetic vamp over which the trombone plays intense ascending scales and passage work. The movement ends with an ascent to a high C#, moving to a final ringing high C. Meditation: After the harp lays out a series of arpeggiated chords, the trombone plays a warm, rich theme in the middle range. The following episodes are variations on this theme. The trombone moves into the upper register, floating with the ease of a lead trombone in a big band. The movement ends with an ascending yearning phrase reaching a high D as the soloist touches the sky and then comes gently back to earth. Call and Response: The orchestral accompaniment starts in an anxious, mysterious tonality. The trombone enters with a burst of energy playing a machine gun series of Fs. The movement develops into a series of short brilliant solo passages answered boldly by the orchestra. This movement showcases the stunning declamatory powers of the trombone. Exaltation: Movement 4 starts as an allegro with intense tremolos in the basses. The trombone breaks out into an articulated driving theme followed by several extended melodic passages. Midway in the movement the strings abruptly lay out a syncopated Latin dance rhythm over which the trombone climbs from the bottom to the top of its range in rapid triplets. In the final codetta the trombone accelerates the dance tempo and climaxes on a series of high C#s in a brilliant and joyous fashion. The concerto is 27 minutes in duration and is appropriate for advanced performers. This version with Piano is a reduction of the full Orchestral version (to be published in the near future). The new Trombone Concerto by Mark Narins is a very exciting piece with dramatic contrasts between the slow and fast sections. The move to the finish of the piece makes for a great wrap-up. It's a real blow for the player, really exploring the range of the instrument. It will be demanding and fun for the trombonist. Ken Andresen, New York freelance musician

Piano,Trombone - Level 4 - SKU: A0.792473 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ralph Sauer. Classical,Concert,Romantic Period. Score and part. 7 pages. Gordon Cherry #4988191. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792473). This work is the third from a collection of five short pieces Beethoven wrote for Flötenuhr or mechanical clock, discovered a number of years after his death. Their true origin was uncovered by Professor Albert Kopfermann, a German musician/librarian, who solved the mystery about their instrumentation. This delightful Allegro movement has been transposed into the key of D from G and arranged for moderately advanced performers by Ralph Sauer. Your audience will love this little gem as the clock slows down and stops before the final cadence. It will make a great encore piece.

Piano,Trombone - Level 5 - SKU: A0.934363 Composed by Luis Cardoso. Contemporary. Score and part. 19 pages. Luis Cardoso #6133675. Published by Luis Cardoso (A0.934363). Entia Imaginaria, from the Latin imaginary beings is a subject that fascinates me, especially after reading Jorge Luis Borges's Book of Imaginary Beings. This three movements composition include: 1. Phoenix - bird that dies by fire and then is reborn from its ashes; 2. Sirena (Mermaid) - Creature part woman, part fish, whose beauty and singing lured sailors against the rocks in the sea; 3. Hippogryphus (Hippogriff) - Winged creature with the head of griffin and horse body. It symbolizes an impossible union. This work was requested by Nuno Henriques (Bass Trombone), who I dedicate and was composed between December 2011 and February 2012. Versions for Trombone Tenor & Strings, Bass Trombone & Piano and Tuba & Piano also available.

Small Ensemble - Level 5 - SKU: A0.792480 Composed by Arnold Schoenberg. Arranged by Ralph Sauer. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 8 pages. Gordon Cherry #4988245. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792480). Arnold Schoenberg's Six Little Pieces, Opus 19, originally for Piano, were published in 1913 at a time when the composer was reacting to his feelings of the excesses of the Romantic Period. They were composed concurrently with his gigantic work Gurre-Lieder. The first five pieces were written in one day and the last one shortly after the death of Gustav Mahler as a rumored tombeau or memorial. Mr. Sauer has deftly arranged these six short pieces of around 5 minutes in length for advanced performers.

Piano,Trombone - Level 1 - SKU: A0.1125993 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Ander. Baroque,Christmas,Easter,Sacred,Wedding. Score and part. 4 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #726721. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1125993). This easy arrangement for trombone and piano was adapted to be simple to perform and understand the structure of the original work for various levels of musical knowledge. It can be played freely by beginning students due to the ease imposed on the piece; however, this does not preclude it from being played by professionals and music teachers. It is also ideal for academic recitals, weddings, student method and ceremonies that are arranged in the same way as the piece contains. The Cantata 156 (BWV 156) was written for the third Sunday after Epiphany in 1729, and was first performed on January 23 of that year. The text is by Picander, one of Bach's favorite librettists. of the four cantatas written by Bach for the feast, it was the last and only one scored for solo voice. This is a choral cantata, employing a choral melody in several movements. Cantata 156, in fact, employs two different choral melodies and texts in the second and sixth movements. A cantata is a sung symphony consisting of several parts, one of which is the Arioso, which is the initial instrumental part.
