As in the original collection, this is a delightful collection of intermediate to advanced-intermediate level duets based on traditional Christmas carols. They are challenging at times (not for beginners) without being overwhelming; at times joyful, at times uplifting, at times serene. There's even a very jazzy version of Go Tell It on the Mountain! In addition to being a joy for friends to play together, they are a great resource for teachers to play at lessons with their students, they are are suitable for informal Christmas performances, and many are appropriate for church services. Note: the duets in this collection have NOT been arranged to be fully compatible with Mr. Baird's duet collections for other instruments. Instead, these have been arranged specifically for flutes. This collection does include the duets found in previously released Five More Christmas Duets for Flutes by Mr. Baird. Included in Christmas Duets, Volume 2, are: Carol of the Bells, Ding Dong! "Christmas Time" is a song by Canadian rocksinger-songwriter Bryan Adams. It was written by Adams and JimVallance and became Adams' most popular Christmas song. It was originallyreleased on clear, green vinyl with a picture sleeve. It was written andrecorded in Vancouver,British Columbia, Canada. No music video was shotfor the song. Over thirty years after it was first recorded, the song stillreceives significant radio airplay each year during the Christmas season.

Spanish Christmas Carol for 2 Flutes

The composer of the song La nana, balada al niño Jesús was José Ramón Gomis, born in Novelda, Alicante;2 the lyrics are by Juan Francisco Muñoz y Pabón. The Society of Spanish Authors published the score in 1904.3

The song was compiled by the musicologist Kurt Schindler in his work "Folk music and poetry of Spain and Portugal",4 as collected by the author in Medinaceli, Soria, around 1930.5 Someone sang the first eight bars of the melody composed by José Ramón Gomis, and some verses of the lyrics.6

The first recordings of the song are from 1931,7 performed by Marcos Redondo for the Casa Odeón, and from 1932,8 performed by Julio Vidal and his group for La voz de su amo.

There is an arrangement of four mixed voices entitled Fuentecilla que corres. It was performed by Eduardo Cifre,9 in 1974 or 75.6 and is very popular among Spanish choirs.
