Flute,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1369592 Composed by Lewis D. Edwards. Arranged by Rebecca Maughan. Christian,Easter,Religious,Sacred. Score and part. 8 pages. Rebecca Maughan Cook #953916. Published by Rebecca Maughan Cook (A0.1369592). This arrangement starts quietly and the piano accompaniment has a tender line that weaves into the verse breaks.  Verse one and verse two do not do the chorus. We wait for it- and then FINALLY when we get to the third verse we get to play the 'He Lives!' chorus. And the flute simply states that up high on beautiful third register G while the piano finishes the phrase. It's a touching way to testify. The flute part dips down to low e, but to really play this well you need to be able to play a gorgeous high g. That's the note on which you spin a beautiful vibrato. You'll need a really good pianist. Please listen to the recording.I hope you feel and enjoy what this music can teach you in your soul.

Fl. Pft. - Intermediate-Advanced - Digital Download SKU: F2.FM493 Composed by Ernest Tomlinson. Flute and Piano. Score and part. 33 pages. Forton Music - Digital #FM493. Published by Forton Music - Digital (F2.FM493). ISBN 9790570483921.All four of these pieces were arranged for concert flute and piano at the request of his daughter Hilary, who is a flautist. Pourquoi Pas? - This piece started life as a violin and piano piece written whilst Tomlinson was on active service in northern France during the Second World War serving as a wireless mechanic in the RAF. His commanding office was a good violinist and had found a local French family who had a grand piano. Hearing that Ernest was studying composition he was challenged to write a piece to entertain the French family. The piece was named after a local cafe much frequented by the troops. Chadkirk Idyll - Written in 2002, this was originally for recorder and guitar and then rescored in 2003 for recorder and string quartet. Naturally, it works very well for flute and piano so this arrangement was made at about the same time. Ernest wrote On receiving the request to write this piece, the description of Chadkirk and it's history conjured up for me an imaginary picture back in history. The mental image of a small and lonely chapel in the river valley at the base of a windswept hillside inspired the melodies around which the Idyll was shaped. Air - This piece started life as a cello and piano piece and has also been arranged for violin and piano. Linda's Dance - During the late 1950's and all through the 1960's Tomlinson wrote much orchestral music intended for use as background music in radio, films and tv. The piece was part of a suite that was eventually published as his first Light Music Suite. He always found titles a difficulty but his youngest daughter, Linda, was very fond of dancing so he simply called this movement Linda's Dance. The original orchestration was for alto flute but the composer was prevailed upon to make this concert flute and piano arrangement.

Frolic in the Surfhttp://www.phyllislouke.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/3.-Reflections-of-Water-mvmt-3.mp3 This piece was written in memory of my father. So many childhood memories of Dad revolved around water-summer vacations spent with my family camping by a mountain stream, fishing in a lake and outings to ocean beaches near my childhood home in Southern California. This programmatic work is in three movements. A Cool Mountain Stream utilizes the pentatonic scale to depict a stream as it meanders along, frequently bouncing over rocks and sometimes heading down a slope, eventually ending in a small waterfall that empties into a deep pool. During a summer vacation, my family camped by a stream that was a natural waterslide. We spent many happy hours sliding down the waterslide into the pool below.A Quiet Morning on the Lake uses the repetitive rocking motion of the piano to represent the soothing motion of the rowboat as I spent summer vacations fishing for trout with my dad on a quiet lake in the San Bernardino Mountains.Frolic in the Surf brings out the playfulness felt at the ocean beach, while getting used to the water temperature and trying to predict when the waves will hit the shore. Many summer days were spent on Southern California beaches with family and friends, body surfing, tanning and simply playing in the waves. Scored for flute and piano. 5:00 Level 3 Phyllis Avidan Louke (b. 1954), a flutist, teacher, and award-winning composer, living in Portland, Oregon, has been arranging and composing since 1990, with over 70 pieces published. Bach: Wachet auf for Alto Flute & Piano
Flûte traversière et Piano
Flute,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549847 Composed by Johann Sebastia…
(+)
Flute,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549847 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Baroque,Concert,Easter,Sacred,Standards. Score and part. 12 pages. Jmsgu3 #3554865. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549847). Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (Awake, the voice is calling us) from Cantata BWV 140. Duration: ca. 4:00, Score: 6 pages, solo part 1 page, piano part: 4 pages. Program this for church services during the Easter season, weddings, or as a recital encore.Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (Awake, the Voice is calling us) also known as: Sleepers Awake Bach composed his church cantata Wachet auf (BWV 140) as part of his second annual cantata cycle covering the entire annual church calendar. It is based on the hymn of the same name by Philipp Nicolai (1599). The hymn text covers the readings for the 27th Sunday after Trinity. Bach designed the cantata in seven movements, setting the stanzas in various forms. Among these forms are the chorale fantasia, the chorale prelude, and a four-part chorale. He casts the new lyrics as recitatives – in a manner similar to the opera. Fourth Movement Bach writes the fourth movement, Zion hört die Wächter singen (Zion hears the watchmen singing), in the style of a chorale prelude with the chorale phrases performed as a strict cantus firmus. The phrases seem to enter at times erratically against the famous lyrical melody. The violins play this melody in unison as a foil against the cantus phrases. The violin melody is so independent and complete that when the cantus melody appears it catches the listener at times totally off-guard. Bach later transcribed this movement for organ (BWV 645). This transcription became No. 1 of the Six Schübler Chorales. Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with the instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and certainly the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy, though, are the St. John Passion, and certainly the Christmas Oratorio. History Bach came from a long line of musicians and above all, composers. Consequently, he, first of all, pursued a career as a church organist. So as a result, he gained employment in various Protestant churches in Germany. For a while, he worked as a court musician in Weimar and Köthen. Here he probably developed his organ style and likewise his chamber music style. Eventually, he, therefore, gained an appointment as Cantor of St. Thomas in Leipzig. Here he worked until difficulties with his employer ultimately drove him away. The King of Poland finally appointed him as court composer. Style It seems like Bach created a fascinating new international style. He synthesized elements of the most noteworthy European music ideas into his new style. Even more, this new style was probably his synthesis of European musical rhythm and form. Furthermore, he demonstrated a complete mastery of counterpoint and motivic development. His sense of harmonic organization probably propelled him to the top. Revival Mendelssohn conducted a Bach revival in the nineteenth century. His effort probably helped to re-familiarize the public with the magnitude of Bach’s works. During this period, scholars published many noteworthy Bach biographies. Moreover, Wolfgang Schmieder published the BWV (Bach Werke Verzeichnis). As a result, this is now the official catalog of his entire artistic output. The BWV number allows us to locate a work in the catalog. Sometimes scholars will simply use an S (Schmieder) as an abbreviation for BWV.

Flute,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549839 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Baroque,Easter,Sacred,Standards. Score and part. 12 pages. Jmsgu3 #3554485. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549839). Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (Awake, the voice is calling us) from Cantata BWV 140. Duration: ca. 4:00, Score: 6 pages, solo part 1 page, piano part: 4 pages. Program this for church services during the Easter season, weddings,or as a recital encore.Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (Awake, the Voice is calling us) also known as: Sleepers Awake Bach composed his church cantata Wachet auf (BWV 140) as part of his second annual cantata cycle covering the entire annual church calendar. The melody to each hymn is first simply presented, then tastefully embellished, adding a refreshing lift to the arrangement. The score, including cover & parts is 29 pages long. This arrangement is perfect for any Church or gathering where celebrating the reason for the season is desired. A mp3 Piano Accompaniment (aka Rehearsal Track) is also available, listed as: CHRISTMAS JOY MEDLEY (Piano Accompaniment for Flute 1, Flute 2 & Bassoon)

It was first recorded in print around 1800 and the lyrics were notably captured by the Welsh folklorist Robert Bryan (1858–1920). The song's title simply means lullaby (suo = lull; cân = song). Flute,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549224 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Baroque,Holiday,Standards,Wedding. Score and part. 9 pages. Jmsgu3 #3468208. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549224). J. S. Bach BWV 508. Bist du bei mir Bach adapted this aria from a lost Stölzel opera called Diomedes. He changed the original orchestral instrumentation to soprano, strings, and continuo.  He also modified the voice-leading making it sound more like a Bach composition. The work appears as BWV 508 No. 25 in the Anna Magdalena Notebook No. 2.  Source Only a few remnants of the original opera have survived. Historians speculate that Anna Magdalena got the song from the Leipzig Opera after the bankruptcy of 1720. Chances are good, though, that the tune was a favorite of everyone in Leipzig at the time.  Lyrics When thou art near, I go with joyTo death and to my rest.O how joyous would my end be,If your fair hands      Would close my faithful eyes. - Unknown Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and certainly the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy are the St. John Passion, and indeed the Christmas Oratorio. Voyager NASA launched two Voyager spacecraft in 1977. Onboard are phonograph records with sounds, music, and images of life on Earth. The purpose of the launch was to inform intelligent extraterrestrial life forms about conditions on Earth. The music on the disc is varied. There is Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Stravinsky among others. However, because Bach is so important in our music history, it contains three times more Bach than all the others combined.

Flute,Piano - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.548476 Composed by Mueller. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Christmas. Score and part. 3 pages. Jmsgu3 #3386529. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548476). Traditional Christmas song arranged for Flute & Piano. Third verse features new harmony. Score: 2 pg. Part: 1 pg.Away in a Manger Away in a Manger is a popular Christmas song published originally sometime in the later 19th century and performed throughout the world. In England, it is considered one of the two most popular carols of all time; a 1996 poll ranked it as a tie for second place. To begin with, many thought it was written by Martin Luther, but now the song is considered to be absolutely American. The most common musical arrangements are by William Kirkpatrick (1895) and James R. Murray (1887). The melody was first published, as Luther's Cradle Hymn, by James R. Murray. Then, came a confusing series of explanations about how Martin Luther wrote the song. Murray even went so far as to suggest that Luther wrote it for his children. As a result, the song has become known as simply Mueller. Nobody knows who this Mueller actually is, but the name stuck. Popularity By the 1880’s the cradle song was being performed in church. By the 1990’s the song was becoming the most popular Christmas song of all time. It was sung in school, in church, and at home by nearly everyone. Other musical settings The first musical setting published with the lyrics appeared in the Little Children's Book for Schools and Families (1885). The title was Away in a Manger. This edition is the first one not to attribute the song to Martin Luther. Charles H. Gabriel was the first arranger to present the third verse. He also composed and published a large number of different arrangements of the song. In one of his settings, he supplies a chorus for each verse with asleep sung in canon. Another prevalent preparation uses the lyrics to the melody Flow Gently, Sweet Afton. Yet another arrangement dating uses the lyrics to an old Normandy Carol.
