Flute and piano - Medium - Digital Download SKU: MQ.20-121-3E Composed by William Beckstrand. Christmas. 6 pages. MorningStar Music Publishers - Digital Sheet Music #20-121-3E. Published by MorningStar Music Publishers - Digital Sheet Music (MQ.20-121-3E). The composer brings his elegant touch to three carols. The carol Each Year As the Year Grows Older (CAROL OF HOPE) is by Annabeth McClelland Gay (b. 1969) and may be unfamiliar to you, but we think you'll agree that it's worth knowing. This thoughtful and detailed writing will reward an accomplished flutist and pianist.Contents:All My Heart Again Rejoices (WARUM SOLLT ICH)Each Year As the Year Grows Older (CAROL OF HOPE)People, Look East (BESANÇON).

Bach-Gounod: Ave Maria, Schwencke version for Alto Flute & Piano
Flûte traversière et Piano
Flute,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.550917 Composed by J. S. Bach - Go…
(+)
Flute,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.550917 Composed by J. S. Bach - Gounod. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christmas,Contemporary,Easter,Wedding. Score and part. 11 pages. Jmsgu3 #4888281. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.550917). This arrangement features the controversial Schwencke measure (ms. 27) that was originally introduced in 1783 by Christian Friedrich Gottlieb Schwencke. The convenient 1st & 2nd endings provide an option for extended performance. Duration with repeat - 4:50. Score: 7 pages. Solo part: 1 page, piano part: 4 pages. Based on Prelude #1 in C Major from the Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 1. Well suited for church meditations or school programs or recital encores. Ave Maria Ave Maria is a Catholic prayer that consequently asks for the mother of Jesus (Mary) to intercede. Charles Gounod composed a famous version of the Ave Maria. He was a French Romantic composer who overlaid a new melody on an existing Bach chord progression. The progression is from Bach’s Prelude No. 1 from Well-Tempered Clavier I. This version, as well as Schubert’s version, have become essential items at weddings, masses, and funerals. Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy, though, are the St. John Passion, and certainly the Christmas Oratorio.  History Bach came from a long line of musicians and above all, composers. Consequently, he, first of all, pursued a career as a church organist. So as a result, he gained employment in various Protestant churches in Germany. For a while, he worked as a court musician in Weimar and Köthen. Here he probably developed his organ style and likewise his chamber music style. Eventually, he, therefore, gained an appointment as Cantor of St. Thomas in Leipzig. Here he worked until difficulties with his employer ultimately drove him away. The King of Poland finally appointed him as a court composer.  Style It seems like Bach created an engaging new international style. He synthesized elements of the most noteworthy European music ideas into his new style. Even more, this new style was probably his synthesis of European musical rhythm and form. Furthermore, he demonstrated a complete mastery of counterpoint and motivic development. His sense of harmonic organization probably propelled him to the top. Revival        Mendelssohn conducted a Bach revival in the nineteenth century. His effort probably helped to re-familiarize the public with the magnitude of Bach’s works. During this period, scholars published many noteworthy Bach biographies. Moreover, Wolfgang Schmieder published the BWV (Bach Werke Verzeichnis). As a result, this is now the official catalog of his entire artistic output. The BWV number allows us to locate a work in the catalog. Sometimes scholars will simply use an S (Schmieder) as an abbreviation for BWV.  Voyager NASA launched two Voyager spacecraft in 1977. Onboard are phonograph records with sounds, music, and images of life on Earth. The purpose of the launch was to inform intelligent extraterrestrial life forms about conditions on Earth. The music on the disc is varied. There is Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Stravinsky among others. However, because Bach is so important in our music history, it contains three times more Bach than all the others combined.

Flute,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549224 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Baroque,Holiday,Standards,Wedding. Score and part. 9 pages. Jmsgu3 #3468208. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549224). J. S. Bach BWV 508. Bist du bei mir Bach adapted this aria from a lost Stölzel opera called Diomedes. He changed the original orchestral instrumentation to soprano, strings, and continuo.  He also modified the voice-leading making it sound more like a Bach composition. The work appears as BWV 508 No. 25 in the Anna Magdalena Notebook No. 2.  Source Only a few remnants of the original opera have survived. Historians speculate that Anna Magdalena got the song from the Leipzig Opera after the bankruptcy of 1720. Chances are good, though, that the tune was a favorite of everyone in Leipzig at the time.  Lyrics When thou art near, I go with joyTo death and to my rest.O how joyous would my end be,If your fair hands      Would close my faithful eyes. - Unknown Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. When There Are Nine is a fanfare of hope for the kind of equality that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg worked so diligently towards. When I'm sometimes asked when will there be enough [women on the Supreme Court] and I say, 'When there are nine,' people are shocked. But there'd been nine men, and nobody's ever raised a question about that. ― Ruth Bader GinsburgDuration: 3:15.

Flute,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549847 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Baroque,Concert,Easter,Sacred,Standards. Score and part. 12 pages. Jmsgu3 #3554865. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549847). Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (Awake, the voice is calling us) from Cantata BWV 140. Duration: ca. 4:00, Score: 6 pages, solo part 1 page, piano part: 4 pages. Program this for church services during the Easter season, weddings, or as a recital encore.Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (Awake, the Voice is calling us) also known as: Sleepers Awake Bach composed his church cantata Wachet auf (BWV 140) as part of his second annual cantata cycle covering the entire annual church calendar. It is based on the hymn of the same name by Philipp Nicolai (1599). The hymn text covers the readings for the 27th Sunday after Trinity. Bach designed the cantata in seven movements, setting the stanzas in various forms. Among these forms are the chorale fantasia, the chorale prelude, and a four-part chorale. He casts the new lyrics as recitatives – in a manner similar to the opera. Fourth Movement Bach writes the fourth movement, Zion hört die Wächter singen (Zion hears the watchmen singing), in the style of a chorale prelude with the chorale phrases performed as a strict cantus firmus. The phrases seem to enter at times erratically against the famous lyrical melody. The violins play this melody in unison as a foil against the cantus phrases. The violin melody is so independent and complete that when the cantus melody appears it catches the listener at times totally off-guard. Bach later transcribed this movement for organ (BWV 645). This transcription became No. 1 of the Six Schübler Chorales. Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with the instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and certainly the Art of Fugue. The King of Poland finally appointed him as court composer. Style It seems like Bach created a fascinating new international style.

If you prefer the extra measure, please see Bach-Gounod: Ave Maria, Schwencke version for Alto Flute & Piano, S0.661753. The convenient 1st & 2nd endings provide an option for extended performance with minimal page turns for the accompanist. The duration with repeat is about 4:50. Score: 6 pages. Flute,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.844503 Composed by Robert Schumann. Arranged by Phil Beaman. Concert,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 7 pages. Phil Beaman #3488525. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.844503). In 1849 Robert Schumann completed a set of Romantic character pieces for piano which he named Forest Scenes. One of that set was called Roadside Inn, which I have arranged for Instrumental Solo with Piano Accompaniment. In keeping with the characteristics of the Romantic period my arrangement is full of contrasts and constant shifts between dynamics, articulations, and themes. I took themes and fragments of themes from the original and re-ordered them into a bit of a rondo form. There are interpretive marks in every measure making it a great piece for auditions to show your technique and interpretation. Not too difficult to play but sounds quite advanced when all details are observed. Another feature is the beautiful harmonic interplay between the solo and accompaniment. To be played warmly and with passion to welcome people to your Roadside Inn. 2 1/2 minutes, 5 page score, 2 page solo partTemporary MIDI recording; a live performance will be much more expressive and free

Fl.pft. - Intermediate-Advanced - Digital Download SKU: F2.FM448 Composed by Geoff Warren. Flute and Piano. Score and part. 30 pages. Forton Music - Digital #FM448. Published by Forton Music - Digital (F2.FM448). ISBN 9790570483471.I wrote these pieces towards the end of summer 2014 at the request of various flautist colleagues who were telling me I should get back to writing for flute and piano. Five of the six pieces are dedicated to musician colleagues; all flautists except Walter the percussionist. The sixth is to myself, perhaps a portait of the artist as a young boy. These compositions, however, are not really meant to be portaits, just pieces dedicated to people I work with, and to some extent inspired by how I see them, so I have called them Sketches. The Sketches offer short expositions of themes which I hope will be enjoyable to play and to listen to. They offer some technical challenges for the flautist but are mostly in a 'medium difficulty' range, in attractive jazz/pop styles.

Flute,Piano - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.522191 Composed by Colin Kirkpatrick. Contemporary,Instructional. Score and part. 28 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #3130519. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.522191). My Flute and Me consists of fourteen short and delightful pieces written especially for absolute beginners up to students at elementary level. The pieces are intended as supplementary material to your usual tutor books. The music can be used with any number of players and the pieces remain in the lower register. Several early pieces use only the notes B, A and G and the key of G major predominates. Six of the pieces use only half notes (minims) and quarter notes (crotchets). The low C, a tricky note for many beginners, has been avoided almost completely. On the one occasion it appears, the note C an octave above is given as optional. Although the pieces are arranged in approximate order of difficulty you can play them in any order you want, depending on the musical needs of the student. Your students are sure to enjoy these pieces, which are both easy on the fingers and easy on the ear! The music is identical to that in the companion book My Recorder and Me. Several pieces have a few measures (bars) rest in the middle not only to give the player a break and add musical contrast but also to give the experience of counting empty bars during the music. When space allows, piano cues appear in the solo part. Some of the later pieces in the book have good performing potential and could be strung together in any order to create a small suite. Every piece has a short piano introduction so that the student can sense the tempo and musical style before playing. The keyboard accompaniments have been kept as simple as possible with the minimum number of notes. Dynamic markings (e.g. piano and mezzo-forte) are used from the start, but phrasing has been omitted from the solo part. This is because the teacher is usually in the best position to suggest phrasing within the physical capabilities of each student. Slurs have been employed sparingly and only when necessary. An MP3 file containing all the play-along piano accompaniments is available as a separate item here: https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/20679840 The book includes a well-known folk lullaby from Wales and a lively folk song from Thailand which is known by all Thai people because it’s taught in elementary schools throughout the country. The music has been converted into pdf files at 1,200 dpi which will produce professional looking printed copies of high quality. However, the output quality will also depend on your own printer settings and capabilities. The publication consists of a teacher's book (18 pages) and a student's book (8 pages) both contained in the same pdf file. The sample MP3 (click on the “Listen†button above) contains recordings of Starting Tune (No 1); Nice ‘n Easy (No 2); Waltzing Around (No 7) and Donkey Trot (No 12). The composer, Colin Kirkpatrick studied at London’s Royal College of Music. After graduation, he followed a career in music education and composed music as an active sideline. His publishers include Boosey & Hawkes, Novello, Paxton, Schott, Oxford University Press, Belwin Mills and Intrada (Netherlands). His music has been performed and broadcast all over Europe as well as in Japan, Thailand, Australia and the USA. He was a High School Music Director for about fifteen years and then became a Music Education Adviser for local government, with the added responsibility for training teachers and overseeing the instrumental service. He has written articles for magazines in both the UK and the USA and holds MA (Hons) and PhD degrees.

Flute,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1046388 By Keith Terrett. By Giacomo Puccini. Arranged by Keith Terrett. Classical,Opera,Romantic Period. Score and part. 6 pages. Keith Terrett #650903. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1046388). An arrangement of one of Puccini’s greatest arias for Flute & Piano. Great piece to improve trumpeter’s player’s bell canto style of playing. Take a listen to Conrad Gozzo’s playing on the Tutti Trumpet CD for a fine example! Quando me'n vo', also known as Musetta's Waltz, is a soprano aria, a waltz in act two of Puccini's 1896 opera La bohème. It is sung by Musetta, in the presence of her bohemian friends, hoping to reclaim the attention of her occasional boyfriend Marcello. This scene takes place at the Café Momus [fr]. Shortly after Mimì, Rodolfo, and their friends have taken seats for a drink, Marcello's former girlfriend, Musetta, shows up with her current patron, the elderly Alcindoro. They quarrel for a bit, then the episode begins as Musetta initiates her move on Marcello. She grabs the spotlight, musically speaking, for a short self-promoting aria (Quando me'n vo'). It is a song directed at the people in the café as much as at the audience in the theater. Popular renditions of the melody were produced during the 1950s, including an American Top 40 hit by Sammy Kaye (You) and a version by Della Reese (Don't You Know?), which reached number two on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. You will find more Italian arias and Neapolitan songs in my Sibelius & ArrangeMe stores.

The C-G-A-E theme weaves its way throughout the texture in various guises from legato and striking quarter-note passages between the solo flute and the piano to softer instances over longer note durations. Several eighth and sixteenth note runs will give the flautist a run for their money. All of the frills in this piece are to make this a happy and festive piece for all who play it.DedicationThis work is dedicated to a dear friend from my high school days, Sarah Aplet. Flute,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.737989 Composed by Fiona Hickie. Celtic,Folk,Irish,Multicultural,World. Score and part. 8 pages. Fiona Alice Hickie #3866385. Published by Fiona Alice Hickie (A0.737989). This is a sea shanty for piccolo (or flute) and piano. It includes a score, piccolo part and a flute part.Inspiration: Storm Bay is the opening of the river leading to Hobart, Tasmania’s capital city. It was named by Abel Tasman on the 30th November 1642, when a storm forced his ship out to sea before he could anchor there. He did return there in later days. Throughout its history it has seen indigenous people in their canoes and famous explorers such as Abel Tasman, Marc-Joseph Marion du Fresne , Bruni d'Entrecasteaux, William Bligh, Matthew Flinders, James Kelly and James Cook sail its waves. In colonial times whalers could also be seen trying to make their fortune. In more recent times local sailors, including those in the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race try and win over one of nature’s more challenging waterways.

Flute,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.796893 Composed by Handel, Traditional. Arranged by Stephanie Daige. Christian,Christmas,Concert,Sacred,Traditional. Score and part. 13 pages. Stephanie Daige #4990841. Published by Stephanie Daige (A0.796893). This arrangement of seven traditional Christmas favorites will make your heart joyful as you prepare for the Christmas season! The flute and the piano share the melody in a conversation-like way, with rich harmonies and beautiful descants enhancing the melodies. The medley begins triumphantly in the key of F Major, moves soulfully to the parallel minor, then finishes brightly back in F Major. Duration is 5 minutes. Christmas carols featured are: · Joy to the World · Good King Wenceslas · We Wish You a Merry Christmas · Deck the Halls · God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen · What Child is This? · Ding Dong Merrily on High I hope you will enjoy performing this medley as much as I have enjoyed arranging it! Audiences are sure to love it. This would work well in a variety of venues during the Christmas season: school or studio recital, church, shopping mall background music, prelude to a choral performance/ carol sing-along, etc. It’s perfect for anywhere you want to lift people’s spirits with beautiful, familiar seasonal music. There are also arrangements of this medley available for piano solo and various chamber music ensembles.
