Published by Phil Beaman (A0.1076597). The Praeludium from Suite No 3 in A minor is originally for unaccompanied Cello solo by Max Reger (1873-1916, written 1914). For this unaccompanied duet arrangement the melody was creatively deconstructed into two parts that continuously interact as if each instrument is finishing the other's thoughts. The harmonies are inspired by the original double stops. The arrangement remains stylistically faithful to Reger's use of constantly shifting dynamics and ever-present expression marks. This 4 1/2 minute work is a worthy challenge for a serious concert or recital. A new approach to this Masterwork of the repertoire. A live performance will be considerably freer and more expressive than the temporary MIDI recording attached. Range - same note range for both parts which is a wide 2 1/2 octaves. 5 page score, 3 pages each part.

Hoffmeister composed a total of 21 duets for Violin and Viola.  Among them, Op.19-4 (often referred to as No.1) stands out as a particularly remarkable piece, with its beautiful second movement in C minor.The sheet music we are presenting is based on Offenbach: Johann André, n.d.(ca.1805). Plate 2157, with necessary corrections made to resolve inconsistencies and suspected errors. It is a user-friendly sheet music note that is easier to perform.Furthermore, we have also arranged versions of this composition for Violin and Cello, as well as for two Clarinets. The Clarinet adaptation was chosen because its sound range closely resembles the original instrumentation, and the vibrant tones of the Clarinet align beautifully with the musical ideas of this piece. This composition showcases some large melodic leaps, a characteristic often found in string instruments. GigueDance Suite for Two Clarinets was composed in the fall of 2019 and is a Baroque-styled suite in four movements, a prelude, minuet, sarabande, and gigue. As a clarinetist, the advancement of original clarinet compositions is something I find important.Each movement composed was modeled after that of the Bach Cello Suite No. 1. The form of each movement is pretty standard as it would be during the Baroque era. The rhythm is kept fairly simple as rhythmic progression or showcase was not the point. The point of the duet is in the melodic and harmonic development through using modern tonalities and techniques. Another technique used in the suite was featuring both players, creating an illusion that only one person is playing when both are playing.

David McKeown #3222137. Published by David McKeown (A0.587374). Le Cygne, or The Swan, is the penultimate movement of Camille Saint-Saens’ 1886 suite, Carnival of the Animals. Most often played as a solo piece for cello with piano, the original version was scored for solo instrument and two pianos. It was the only movement for the Carnival that the composer allowed to be heard in public during his lifetime. This version is arranged as a duet for two Clarinets. Musicians at an advanced intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal performances. The melody is expressive and legato; the accompaniment is challenging in its constant semiquaver arpeggios. The overall performance time is around three minutes. This simple arrangement adapted for clarinet duo was imagined for a group of beginner students who want to start their immersion in classical music, of course with the help of a teacher. Even though the original work is for strings, this did not prevent this beautiful adaptation, where the original essence of the work was maintained, being made only an adaptation of the tonality and some adaptations in the tessitura of the instruments. This piece can be used for professional and academic recitals, didactic material and repertoire for ensemble practice as well, which does not prevent professional musicians and instructors from using it for performances of their preference. Luigi Boccherini was born in the city of Lucca, in northern Italy. He studied cello and became a virtuoso who eventually moved to Spain, where he worked with the Spanish royal family for the rest of his life. His String Quintet in E major, Op. 11, No. 5, G 275, was written in 1771 and published in 1775, and is one of his most famous works.The quintet is famous for its minuet and trio, third movement which is often played as an independent piece outside the context of the full quintet. This is notably the most famous, it is in 3/4 time, in the key of E Major modulating to A Major. This is a beautiful work, and not just the third movement, with good partial writing for all. The lovely, flowing melodies and rhythms are typical of Boccherini. The quintet is suitable for both concerts and home performances.
