Instrumental Duet Clarinet,Instrumental Duet,Tenor Saxophone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.589984 Composed by Wallis Willis. Arranged by David McKeown. Praise & Worship,Sacred,Spiritual. Score and parts. 4 pages. David McKeown #6137493. Published by David McKeown (A0.589984). Swing Low, Sweet Chariot is an American nineteenth century spiritual. This version is arranged as a duet for one Clarinet and one Tenor Saxophone. The words and music of Swing Low, Sweet Chariot are credited to Wallis Willis, a Native American freedman from Oklahoma. A local minister transcribed the song in 1865 and within a few years it became a firm gospel favourite. In recent times Swing Low, Sweet Chariot has been adopted by the Civil Rights movement on one hand, and the England rugby team on the other. Swing Low, Sweet Chariot is simply arranged in keys and range best suited to the instruments. The hymn is played three and a half times, once as a ballad, then twice in a slow rock style, before returning to the ballad at the end. Click the link above to listen to a full Youtube performance of the Clarinet version of this duet.Swing Low, Sweet Chariot is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above, though some of the rhythms in the third verse may be a challenge for less experienced players. With a performance time of around three and a half minutes, this version of Swing Low, Sweet Chariot is perfect for worship and concert performances, both formal and informal. There are many more top quality arrangements and compositions by David McKeown for you to browse at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/david-mckeown/6203

The Spring Chicken Swing is a fun and original duet written by David McKeown for one Clarinet and one Tenor Saxophone. The Spring Chicken Swing is one in a series of ten Easter-themed duets each written in a different American dance style. Swing in the narrow sense defines the rhythmic feel and articulation of jazz music, but the word has come to define the Big Band Jazz era of the ‘30s and’40s and the new-style dances that came with it.The Spring Chicken Swing is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above, with the accessible key and range balanced by the fast tempo, some syncopated rhythms and accidentals. With a playing-time of around one and a half minutes, The Spring Chicken Swing is a perfect upbeat addition to any performance program, formal or informal. Good King Wenceslas, Jazz Style, for Clarinet and Tenor Saxophone Duet

Instrumental Duet Clarinet,Instrumental Duet,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.594056 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by David McKeown. Christmas,Jazz,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Score and parts. 4 pages. David McKeown #6537223. Published by David McKeown (A0.594056). Good King Wenceslas is a much-loved Christmas carol. This version is arranged as a duet in a Jazz Swing style for one Clarinet and one Tenor Saxophone. Click on the YouTube link above to listen to a full length performance of this arrangement played on Clarinet. The melody of Good King Wenceslas is Finnish in origin and dates back to the thirteenth century. The Christmas lyrics we know and love were added much later by English hymn-writer John Mason Neale and were first published in 1853. With a performance time a little over three minutes, this version of Good King Wenceslas is perfect for seasonal celebrations and concert performances, both formal and informal. The jazz swing style is a fun and fresh take on this familiar traditional tune.Good King Wenceslas is arranged in a key and range best suited to the instruments. Rhythms are syncopated, as one would expect in swing music, and there is plenty of articulation detail to help deliver an authentic style. While the key is straightforward, there are several chromatic passages to keep players on their toes. The melody is played four times, each version different from the last, with a short intro and outro. This arrangement is suitable for players at an intermediate or early advanced level.
