Fur Elise is the popular name given to Bagatelle no.25 written by Ludwig van Beethoven. The piece was never published in Beethoven's lifetime and only came to light forty years after his death. Despite much debate, no-one has been able to establish who the Elise of the dedication actually was. This arrangement transcribes the piano score as a Duet for Clarinet and Alto Saxophone. Musicians at an advanced intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal performances. The rhythms are straightforward, and there is plenty of scope for expressive, lyrical playing with subtle tempo changes. These Christmas Carol duets for clarinet and saxophone are for beginner saxophone level and intermediate to advanced clarinet. They were arranged from my teaching of beginner to developing stage woodwind students as a clarinetist/teacher.There are also sets for flute duet and clarinet duet.The lead melodic voice interchanges between clarinet and sax. The parts are scored to enhance the similarities of instrumental tone and create a harmonic mix in keys basic to each instrument. Saxophone is scored in Mid-range from low D to G1.Clarinet is in range of low E to C2.Silent Night is in two sections: (in Bb) ¾ slowly, reverently with Sax lead.
