Published by Piper Publications (A0.811742). This is the fourth of a set of six sonatas for 2 transverse flutes published in Paris in 1728. The playing score has been edited and arranged for a pair of violas. Viola players during the eighteenth century were largely ignored so here is an opportunity to have fun playing music from this period in the style of the original. The musical notation has been modernised. All edits are shown in parentheses ( ) or dashed lines. The trill ( +) has been replaced by tr and the mordants signs have not altered. The five movements, Andante, Allegro, Aria - Affetuoso, Minuet & Giga are for equal players of intermediate ability or above.

Published by Maggs (A0.821338). As we deal with turmoil in our nation (US) and the world, I find myself going back to the words of St. Francis: Lord, make me a channel of your peace. This arrangement of Sebastian Temple’s setting of the Prayer of St. Francis speaks to me, and I hope can speak to you in a real way.The arrangement for viola duet with piano is entirely in the key of C, and except for a few 3rd position notes in the viola 1 part, can be played entirely in 1st position. It follows the form of Temple’s song: verse/verse/chorus/verse, with an added chorus/verse. The melody moves back and forth between the parts. Published by Piper Publications (A0.811736). This is an arrangement of the sonata for bassoon and cello composed in 1775. It was not published until 1805, fourteen years after Mozart's death. Published by David McKeown (A0.590096). Steal Away to Jesus is an American nineteenth century spiritual. This version is arranged as a duet for two Violas. The words and music of Steal Away to Jesus are credited to Wallis Willis, a Native American freedman from Oklahoma. A local minister transcribed the song and within a few years it became a firm gospel favourite. Chalypso was a short-lived craze in 1958 that combined the music of the new Rock’n’Roll with much-simplified steps borrowed from Cha Cha and Calypso; and no sooner had it caught on than it was itself supplanted by The Twist.
