The Bridal March was written by Richard Wagner in 1850, scored for orchestra and chorus, and opening the third act of his opera, Lohingren. It is best known in the English-speaking world as Here Comes the Bride. Queen Victoria’s daughter used the music for her marriage in 1858, and its popularity has endured ever since. This version is arranged as a duet for two Trombones.Musicians at an intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal performances, especially at weddings. A prolific composer, he produced many great works, including operas, symphonies, concerti, chamber and choral works. Cavatine, Op. 144 was written in 1915 as a musical gift to Boston Symphony trombonist George W. Stewart who helped with the composer's trans-Atlantic voyage to North America as the special guest of the World's Fair in St. Louis. The work has become one of the most popular solos in the trombone repertoire with its beautiful phrases and expressive feel.
