The song was jointly written and performed by Paul McCartney and John Lennon. George Harrison and Ringo Starr took no part in the recording and there were no instrumental contributions by any of the Beatles. The song was inspired by a newspaper story about a missing teenage girl. The girl in question turned up safe and sound eventually, and had, by complete coincidence, met the Beatles at a TV recording a few year’s earlier.This version of She’s Leaving Home is arranged as a duet for one Trumpet and one Clarinet. The full YouTube performance above is the Clarinet version of this arrangement.Musicians at an intermediate level will find this ideal for formal and informal concert performance, with plenty of interest in both parts.
