This song is written in 12/8, which is commonly used in slow rock and pop ballad. It could be an excellent exercise to learn the compound rhythm. Once you get used to reading and feeling the notes in groups of 3, it makes more sense. However with the 16notes in the music, a 12/8-bar is way too long and clumsy to read, hence in this arrangement, each bar is divided into two by a dotted barline because a 12/8-bar is actually two 6/8-bars.

Released on 17 November 2017, "You Are the Reason" is a song by British singer-songwriter Calum Scott. On 9 February 2018, Scott released a remix version of the song with Leona Lewis. Scott remarked in a statement: "Working with Leona was a dream come true. As a fan, I first remember watching her on TV before going on to grace the globe with her incredibly beautiful voice. Now having the honour of working with her on one of my own songs is completely surreal and the passion and raw emotion she brings to our duet makes it even more special to me."
