It was shortly thereafter that this choral arrangement was born.Gunnar writes: In my first music theory class in college, the teacher and the students were recalling the silly ways they'd been taught to remember classical melodies when they were young. A Time to Rejoice! is a dramatic and poignant cantata for children and organ (piano version also available) in which performers and audience embark on an exciting journey through time to witness the events of the first Easter. The time machine is somewhat unreliable, adding humour to the story, and stops are made in the Garden of Eden and Bethlehem before arriving in Jerusalem for Palm Sunday and the events of the crucifixion. It is suitable for performance by schools and children's choirs, suggested age range 8-13 years. The optional second parts greatly enhance the cantata and can be sung by a group of children or even an adult choir.Whilst not a staged production, there is plenty of scope for acting in the roles of the Captains, and props such as tea lights for the opening procession, pilots' hats for the Captains and palm branches for the song The King is Coming.A Time to Rejoice! was premiered by St. Joseph's in the Park School, Hertingfordbury, on 17 March 2023. here are some comments from staff/parents:'A Time to Rejoice! was amazing! At least 5 parents thought it was the best production St Joes has ever put on' Deputy Head'An absolutely amazing evening! Such beautiful music so beautifully performed. Published by Stewart J Wallace (A0.1262871). This song first appeared on the 1977 album Exodus and was released in 1980 as a single which peaked at 17 in the UK charts. This easy arrangement would suit choirs that are starting to learn to sing in parts, with only some occasional singing in thirds and a repetative counter melody. The delivery needs to be relaxed and largely staccato, with emphasis on the first beat. The melody in the verse bars 24-26 needs to be sung with conviction otherwise it can sound slightly wrong and dissonant. The arrangement includes a simple piano accompaniment which can be developed further, and there is also a vocal-only score included.

Christmas in Australia is the theme song from the animated, made-for-TV movie Blinky Bill’s White Christmas, a spin-off from the Blinky Bill children’s books (by Australian writer Dorothy Wall) and the Adventures of Blinky Bill TV series. The telemovie first aired on Australia’s Seven Network on Christmas Eve of 2005. In the movie the song was sung by Christine Anu, who also reprised it at Sydney’s 2007 Carols in the Domain. Weather-wise, Christmastime in Australia is very different from that in the Northern Hemisphere. Instead of cold, snow and spending time indoors, there’s lots of sunshine, lots of colour everywhere and lots to do in the great outdoors. This delightful song – Christmas in Australia – highlights the fact that, whilst these differences do exist, the true meaning of Christmas, the reasons for rejoicing, the coming together of friends and family, the excitement of children, the decorating, and the caring and sharing are the same the world over. For on this little world of ours, we’re all one family. So, come and join us as we sing, around the Christmas tree. Christmas in Australia deserves a place in the best of Australian Christmas songs. Unfortunately, it is not as widely known and performed as it should be; perhaps because the music has not been readily available. Hopefully these new arrangements for choirs and soloists may go some way towards redressing that situation. This arrangement is available in six versions – SATB, SSA and 2-Part for choirs; Low, medium and high voice for soloists/unison choirs. An instrumental accompaniment for Glockenspiel and string ensemble is also available separately.
