Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.878811 By Doris Day. By Jay Livingston and Raymond B. Evans. Arranged by Justin Goh. Pop. Octavo. 9 pages. Justin Goh #3859777. Published by Justin Goh (A0.878811). SATB ChoirA cappellaSample recording: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwXiFG5YRBU--The idea of arranging this piece first came to me when I attended a Folksong Arrangement class. I was tasked to think about what songs my grandparents sang to me. Que Sera, Sera, although not a folksong, was the first that came to mind. My maternal grandmother had sung this to me in my younger days. Not long after, my grandmother announced that she intended to sell her house - the very house that I spent most of my growing-up years in. This was followed by many weeks of packing her belongings, uncovering forgotten treasures, and recalling the days of my childhood. Quite aptly, arranging this piece gave me an avenue to express my sentimental thoughts, and say goodbye to an old house filled with so many memories. I hope that both the performer and the listener can be transported back in time, even if just for a few minutes, to reminisce the happier and more carefree days of our lives. Furthermore, let us count our blessings in the present, as the future’s not ours to see. Que Sera, Sera. What will be, will be. --If you have questions or comments, I'm most happy to hear from you at justingohcj@gmail.com

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.747217 Composed by Christopher R. Brown. Christian,Gospel,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 7 pages. Christopher Brown #4756811. Published by Christopher Brown (A0.747217). About the song: In Psalm 22:22, David writes, I will praise You to all my brothers; I will stand up before the congregation and testify to the wonderful things You have done. Again, in Psalm 66:16, the psalmist says, Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what He did for me. Jesus, after healing a man with a demon, commands the man to go home... and report the great things the Lord has done for you, and how He had mercy on you. The testimony of a life changed by God's love and His great mercy is a powerful tool for both spreading the Good News and resisting temptation. It is good for us to remember and proclaim, both personally and collectively, the great things the Lord has done. Can be performed with piano accompaniment only (available separately), OR with additional band members (rhythm chart included in orchestration), OR with full orchestra (orchestration available separately). Please Note:Performance of this music requires one copy of the vocal score purchased for each singer.Included in your Purchase:Vocal Score (Solo & SATB)Lyrics:Verse 1Let me tell you a story of grace,How the Son of Man died in my place.Raised to life, all my sin was erased.Praise the Name of the Lord.Verse 2Many times I have asked of the Lord,On my knees I have prayed and implored. In the waiting my soul is restored,Praise the Name of the Lord.Chorus 1This is what the Lord has done for me,Paid my debt and set this captive free.Mercy flowed down at Calvary,This is what the Lord has done for me.Verse 3When I’m tempted to fear the unknown,I’m reminded I don’t walk alone.Christ is with me and He’ll lead me home,Praise the Name of the Lord.Chorus 2This is what the Lord has done for me,Paid my debt and set this captive free.Mercy flowed down at Calvary,This is what the Lord has done for me.BridgeOpened these blind eyes to see,Softened this heart to believe,Pardoned my sin on a tree,Now I stand redeemed.Key Change (up whole tone)Chorus 3This is what the Lord has done for me,Paid my debt and set this captive free.Mercy flowed down at Calvary,This is what the Lord has done for me.Chorus 4This is what the Lord has done for me,Paid my debt and set this captive free.Mercy flowed down at Calvary,This is what the Lord has done for me.This is what the Lord has done for me.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.874151 Composed by Mary Rose Jensen. Christian,Christmas,Contemporary,Sacred,Standards. Octavo. 12 pages. Garden Rose Music #5991027. Published by Garden Rose Music (A0.874151). Christmas SATB Choral Anthem with Organ Accompaniment. Text follows:What happened in Bethlehem changes the world.A baby born there seemed like millions before. His mother was Mary, a virgin, still pure. His Father was God, the Creator, the Lord. His birthplace, a town unimportant and small. His shelter, a stable for animals there. His bed was a trough where those beasts had been fedAnd plain strips of cloth were what He had to wear. What happened in Bethlehem changes the world. The King of the universe lived here on earth.Though He was far richer than anyone elseHe chose to be humble and poor in His birth. He’d cared for His people for thousands of years,But they had rebelled and rejected His ways.Instead of harsh punishment richly deserved,His promised redemption would soon be in place. What happened in Bethlehem changes the world.God’s Word in the flesh made the prophecies clear. He called for the people to come follow HimAnd preached that the kingdom of heaven was near. This kingdom was nothing like any on earth,Not weapons, but sacrifice caused it to spread. For Jesus the sinless One died for our crimesAnd gave us new life when He rose from the dead. What happened in Bethlehem changes the world. The people of God are still following Christ. And though we forget Him and stumble aroundHe picks us up safely and gives us His light. The woes of our planet, with hunger and warsAre lessened by those who will love as He said. For those who seek heaven bring grace to the earthAnd those who love Jesus will rise from the dead.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1260120 Composed by Mark S Grossman. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary. Octavo. 13 pages. Mark S Grossman #853354. Published by Mark S Grossman (A0.1260120). A work for chorus (SATB) and piano. First performance March, 2023 by Schola Cantorum of Silicon Valley. One morning in early 2022, after having somewhat unexpectedly lost my two aunts and one of my best friends in the world over the previous year or so, I woke up and this piece, along with some tears, poured out in about 15 minutes. For Us the Living contains echoes of Brahms' German Requiem (Denn alles Fleisch ist wie Gras), Shawn Kirchner's Cornerstone, and Dolly Parton's Light of a Clear Blue Morning (another a song about loss). The words are partly based on a short poem I wrote after my father passed away. I ended to him, Go to sleep, rest a while. So, perhaps obviously, the piece is like a lullaby. What I'm saying is that the purpose of mourning is first to comfort the survivors, and a call to take care of each other -- but also to not just wait for salvation, but to use the memory of our loved ones, to be inspired to pick ourselves up and make ourselves useful while we're on this Earth.Â

October Dawn - Choral Song (SSAATB)

Choral Choir (SATB divisi) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.841250 Composed by …
(+)
Choral Choir (SATB divisi) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.841250 Composed by Chris Gordon. Contemporary. Octavo. 18 pages. Cool Wind Music Digital #3029087. Published by Cool Wind Music Digital (A0.841250). A setting of a very powerful poem by English poet, Ted Hughes, about the onset of autumn in an English (Yorkshire) garden and the surrounding countryside. It is full of pathos and passion, harmony and dissonance, chaos and peace - just like English weather! This is a very individual and innovative choral setting of Hughes' poem which is, itself, rich in 'meaty' metaphor and colour - and the composer is a vegetarian! It evokes a savage Nature within a savage landscape where humans and animals compete for space and for food. It is October, the fields and woods and gardens of rural Yorkshire are readying themselves for the cold and desolation (and despair) of winter which isn't far away in time. 'A glass, half-filled with wine, left out(side) To the dark heaven all night, by dawn Has dreamed a premonition of ice across its eye as if the ice-age had begun its heave.' That is only two and a half stanzas but you see from these lines that there are veiled threats of (Nature's) violence in the heavy tread of the poet's slowly-building angst over what is happening in the surrounding countryside - and his fear grows, and his awe grows, with every line. There is even fear underlining the very last line: 'And now it is about to start.' Winter is creeping closer and closer towards the house and it will not be pleasant to experience!I have tried to instil a little of this in the music which keeps skidding from consonance to dissonance and back to consonance. Sometimes the dissonance piles up, like snow driven by the wind piles up into deep banks; sometimes the music relaxes into stillness and calm (painted in tonal music) like a crisp, mild late autumn or early winter's day when the sun warms the landscape and life appears bearable, tolerable. I hope this adds to the song's 'charm'. It wasn't easy to write: sometimes the right music was elusive. The music ends with the word 'October' repeated three times, with voices overlapping in a little canon. This conjures up the wistful feelings of the poet as he looks out onto a peaceful scene, soon to be filled with all manner of 'natural violence', while his inner peace will soon be shattered by the mayhem about to be unleashed around him.Setting Ted Hughes is no easy task. It is for choirs and choirmasters to judge if I have succeeded in conveying the 'sense and sensibility' of a classic 20th century English poem. The price is for one copy: please purchase a sufficient number of scores if you intend to perform this work. SMP Press offers discounts for multiple-copy purchases.

Published by Con Spirito Music (A0.1381069). An allusion to Lamentations 1:12 (Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? Behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow....), Have, Have Ye No Regard is a setting for solo baritone, SATB voices, and organ of Robert Herrick's (1591-1674) poem, His Saviour's Words, Going to the Cross:Have, have ye no regard, all ye Who pass this way, to pity Me, Who am a man of misery? A man both bruis'd and broke, and one Who suffers not here for Mine own, But for My friends' transgression! Ah, Sion's daughters, do not fear The Cross, the Cords, the Nails, the Spear, The Myrrh, the Gall, the Vinegar, For Christ, your loving Saviour, hath Drunk up the wine of God's fierce wrath; Only there's left a little froth, Less for to taste than for to show What bitter cups had been your due, Had he not drank them up for you.©Copyright 2024 Todd Marchand / Con Spirito Music. Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1019370 Composed by Kevin Longley. Christian,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 12 pages. Kevin Longley #6532899. Published by Kevin Longley (A0.1019370). Bring His LoveInspiration (below is a note I sent to my sister) Hi Karen! In the fall of last year I started working on a new church anthem for FUMC. Over the years your choir has sung several pieces of mine; so I felt I should do something in return. I quickly got an idea for the music only (sometimes I will get some lyric ideas also, but didn't this time.) By the first of the year I had the basic structure sketched out on paper but then put it aside for Easter Rehearsals. When the pandemic stopped all church choirs I returned to the music and by early May had the score in the computer, close to completion. At that point I still didn't have any lyrics but began feeling that it should be about God's creation. All I could envision was a singer with his arms stretched out to the sun, the ocean, the moon, etc. while singing this piece. So I started searching for a possible prayer that might fit and came upon Canticle of the Son. As I read it through I liked the structure and began sketching out the lyrics. I couldn't help but wonder what our response should be to God's creation. How should we thank him or praise him or take care of it? I then turned my thoughts to FUMC and considered this - what phrase would sum up this churches mission? I almost immediately got Bring His Love. From there the balance of the lyrics fell into place. So attached is the recording and the music. I have no expectations but hope you and the choir enjoy the music. The Music The piece starts with 16th note broken chords in the upper register of the piano which lead to the opening theme. A tenor soloist begins by singing God's praises for all he has given us; ending with the thought How can we thank such kindness?; The answer Bring His Love the B section. At its conclusion we are returned to the opening theme, this time sung by the choir which again leads us to the same questionHow can we thank such kindness?, The answer Bring His Love the B section. A C section is then introduced with a change to a more beat driven accompaniment with the vocals alternating between the upper and lower voices. A return to the opening theme, with minimal chordal accompaniment, features the original soloist but then adds a second voice leading to a duet and a return to the broken chord accompaniment.. Finally the B section,Bring His Love is repeated and concludes in a rousing fashion.. Program Notes The piece could work very well for Earth Day celebrations.

Agnus Dei from Reconciliation

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.782530 Composed by Tyler Merideth. Christian,Contemporary,Easter,Sacred,Spiritual. Octavo. 7 pages. Tyler Merideth #4810437. Published by Tyler Merideth (A0.782530). Agnus Dei is the tenth movement from a larger work entitled Reconciliation, a set of 12 Latin prayers. Each movement takes it's inspiration from individual postcards containing pictures of St. Michael's Cathedral in Coventry, England. When performed in sequence, Reconciliation can serve as a worship service however, the individual movements also can stand alone. Although the tenth movement in Reconciliation, Agnus Dei was the initial small seed catalyst that grew into the idea to write a 12 movement work. The idea came to me when I first visited Coventry Cathedral and saw a statue entitled Reconciliation by Josefina de Vasconcellos. The statue depicts two figures kneeling in an embrace. What makes this statue so powerful is that the placement of the statue is among the ruins of the original Cathedral after the bombing by German Aircraft in WWII. I immediately sketched an idea for this movement on the bus after my college choir rehearsed in the cathedral. When I returned to the United States, I wrote a rough vocal line and string orchestra accompaniment. The composition then lay dormant for more than a decade with no major changes. It was only this past week (almost fifteen years later) that I rewrote the accompaniment for piano and cleaned up the choral part. The opening unison vocal line can be timeshared among the voice parts. Since it covers a wide range, let the lower voices sing what range they sing well and the higher voices reciprocate. Please feel free to vary the tempo with rubato throughout the piece to allow for proper breath support. Do not be shy leaning into the dissonances found in the suspensions as the ultimate resolution in the grant us peace

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.926660 Composed by Michael A. Morizio. A Cappella,Christian,Sacred. Octavo. 112 pages. M.A. Morizio #3588371. Published by M.A. Morizio (A0.926660). During the late spring of 2017, I began composing a new choral piece based on the 1 Timothy 3:16 text. I was studying Paul's first letter to Timothy at the time when this particular passage jumped out at me. Not only was it an efficient summary of the Gospel message, but it was also a textual grouping, or form, such as might be found in a traditional hymn. What I was reading were indeed lyrics to an actual 1st Century Hymn to Christ, the music of which has since been lost. I entitled my piece, Great is the Mystery. I composed the anthem for SATB (a cappella), and set it to the ESV translation of the scripture. Based on its context, I suspected the song would work great for Ascension Sunday. Our choir sang the piece beautifully, crescendoing at the finish to the words, Believed on in the world and taken up in glory! Later that spring, I played the piece for a dear friend of mine who is Pastor at Immanuel Church in Manchester, New Hampshire. What he told me was actually a bit stunning. He informed me that there were (at least) seven specific known Hymns to Christ written into the New Testament Scriptures, whose text is found among the writings of the apostles’ Paul and John. The 1 Timothy 3:16 verse that I had selected for my piece was indeed one of those texts. At that moment, Pastor Don and I made a pact. If he were to supply me with the literal Greek translations of the other six known Hymns to Christ, I would set out to compose brand new anthems for them all. A new musical collaboration had begun. With this short introduction serving as the genesis of my new song cycle, I offer you these new Seven Anthems to Christ based on the seven known ancient ‘Hymns to Christ' texts found in the New Testament.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1084615 Composed by Alan Bullard. Children,Christmas,Classical. Octavo. 36 pages. Colne Edition / BullardMusic #688801. Published by Colne Edition / BullardMusic (A0.1084615). A seasonable celebration for SATB choir, optional youth choir and narrator, with piano (or brass quintet, or string quintet, score and parts available from www.colneedition.co.uk). Duration c. 25-30 minutes. This 8-movement cantata contrasts the cooking of the Christmas dinner with more reflective Christmas themes, with an opportunity for the audience to join in at the end. Ideal for Christmas concerts. We welcome you to our ‘Feast for Christmas’. In the first movement, Christmas Welcome, the scene is set: but the key to a successful Christmas dinner is forward planning and in the second movement the Christmas Pudding is prepared in November, on ‘Stir-up Sunday’. In the third movement, Christmas Eve, the early twentieth century poet Robert Bridges looks back, on a frosty evening, from his own time to the very distant past, and considers what Christmas means to him. Then in the fourth movement, our Christmas Feast is prepared, and the Christmas Grace (fifth movement) is not forgotten. It is of course impolite to sing during the actual Christmas Dinner itself, but towards the end of the meal the peace is rudely interrupted by the sixth movement, Christmas Crackers. The seventh movement, Christmas Spirit, reminds us, in seventeenth-century words, of how we should share our good fortune with those who have need of it, and in the last movement, Christmas Celebration, the audience is invited to join in, with the last verse of the well known ‘We wish you a merry Christmas’ Some separate movements are also available: Christmas Recipe, Festival (Christmas) Grace, and Christmas Celebration. Alan Bullard’s choral works are performed worldwide, and many have been recorded and broadcast. He has a growing reputation for music that choirs enjoy performing, and which speaks directly to audiences. The Colne Choral Series contains a range of Bullard’s pieces for adult and youth choirs of all types, including cantatas and choral suites as well as individual movements. Choral Choir,Choral,SATB Chorus - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1496253 Composed by Philip Le Bas. A Cappella,Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. 7 pages. Philip Le Bas #1072778. Published by Philip Le Bas (A0.1496253). A new setting of Psalm 139 by Philip Le Bas, which begins O Lord, you have searched me out and known me - text printed below. The psalm is a deeply personal reflection by the psalmist on the wonder of my being and on the inescapability of God's love, wherever we might try to hide, and whatever we might do ourselves or might experience - even death. This gentle setting for unaccompanied SATB choir uses the full range of all four choral voices, with just one divisi passage at the end of the composition in the tenor and bass parts. The piece should be sung meditatively, without too much drama, even in the fortissimo passages, aiming for a sense of wonder and inner peace. Psalm 139 O Lord, you have searched me out and known me; you know all my sitting down and rising; you discern my thoughts from afar. You mark all my journeys and my resting place and are acquainted with all my ways. For not a word is on my tongue but, Lord, you know it altogether. You encompass me, behind and before me, you lay you hand upon me. O where can I go from your spirit? Or where can I flee from your presence? If I climb up to heaven you are there; you are there if the grave is where I lie. If I take the wings of the morning, or dwell in the depths of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, your right hand hold me fast. You created my innermost parts; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I thank you for the wonder of my being, I marvel at all your works. Amen.

Https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqIQfHGxLEg&feature=youtu.be With thoughts leaning and reflecting on the end on Fall, and November, I can’t help but notice the beauty of fall and the trees and foliage. This wonderous little musical piece , from the motion picture The Lorax from the Dr. Seuss movie, depicts of the main character the Lorax speaking for the trees and in many ways advocating for all things, people and groups that can not speak for themselves. And even in the times that we live in, this story still rings true today. And beauty can still be found in sadness, or endings whether the be falling leaves in the park, or even with the events that are said , we grow and learn, being grateful for what we have , and learn to find our voices to speak out for the things that truly matter in life. This music, which is much like a hymnal, especially in the beginning of the piece, is perfect for this message. A message of peace, reflectiveness and hope and courage. As a side note , this piece should be played with lots of thoughtful rubato, and when the meter changes for 4/4(5/4) to 12/8, the beat does not change from quarter to dotted quarter .In the middle, minor section, I really added and improvised my musical skills per chord and melody of the song which makes my arrangement very distinctive, individual and unique. This would be great for a movie themed concert, all by it's self, for a funeral, for Arbor Bay/ Tree ceremony , for fall or autumn music/ themed programs, recitals, etc. Sure to be a well used piece in your collection. Scored for piccolo, flute 1, 2, 3 4, alto and bass flute. This pieces suites smaller groups , such as 1 per part, or doubling up with discretion. please visit my website at doraymeflute.com , too!I hope you enjoy this as much as I do, thank you for your support.#movie music #arborday#holidaymusic #fallmusic #holiday #fall #autumn #season #flutechoir #movieflute #autumnmusic

Schott Choral Music. Downloadable, Choral score. Schott Music - Digital #Q20184. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q20184). German.Andreas Pieper's secular cycle Wenn es das Licht ist for four-part mixed a-cappella choir (SATB) consists of seven choral settings based on poems by Sigrid Nordmar-Bellebaum. Apart from the eponymous last choral piece, the organist and choirmaster of the parish of Our Lady in Duisburg set to music the following poems by the anthroposophist born in Gdansk in 1941: Weiße Brombeerblüten, Birkenstille, Ruhelos, Farnblätter, Wenn der Regen die Rosen schlägt, and Sonne. In reply to the question what, to him, makes up the charm of these poetic gems, the award-winning (choral) composer said: 'The poems which were set to music in the 1980s fascinated me with their mysterious look at a world behind things. This is the space in which I have always wanted to move musically. The music is mainly atmospheric, linear and freely tonal.'.

Three LatinElegies to Lesbiais a setting of three poems written by the ancient Roman poet, Gaius ValeriusCatullus (84-54 B.C.E.). His muse in these poems is understood to beLesbia, the name believed to have been given by Catullus to his mistress.Lesbia was really Clodia, the sexually promiscuous wife of proconsul QuintusCaecilius Metellus Celer. Clodia was said to have many lovers, and Catullus’torment and obsession for her is well documented in 13 of his poems where thename, Lesbia, is used. His first poem addressed to Lesbia (Catullus 51) is a freetranslation of a poem by the ancient Greek poet, Sappho. Scholars havesuggested that Catullus chose the name, Lesbia, because of his affinity forSappho, who it is believed was a lesbian.<br> <br> Odie et Amo (Catullus 85), one of the mostcelebrated elegiac couplets composed by Catullus, has inspired many composers withits duality of emotions. The most well-known setting is from Carl Orff’s Catulli Carmina, part of Trionfi, themusical triptych that also includes the Carmina Burana andTrionfo di Afrodite. Unlike Orff’s driving rhythms of outwardlyexpressive anguish, my setting is a more introspective interpretation. It is asif the music is surrendering to the mercurial personalities that Catullus andall humans possess, the tortured ability to hate and love at the same time.<br> <br> Lesbia mi dicit semper male (Catullus 92) consists of two elegiaccouplets. Catullus’ earlier poem, 83,brings some context to 92. In thefirst part of 83, Catullus says:<br> <br> Lesbia keeps insulting me in front of her husband:<br> <br> thisfills the fatuous idiot with delight.<br> <br> Mule, doyou perceive nothing? If she shut up and ignored me<br> <br> that’dshow healthy indifference;…<br> <br> In 92, Catullus expounds on the idea of whyLesbia insults him in front of her husband. Catullus reckons that he is alwayscursing her, and he loves her. She always curses him, so she must love him aswell. In his desperation, Catullus uses his wit and humor to reason that hisobsessive love for Lesbia is reciprocated. This setting of 92 uses incessant driving rhythms in the women’s voices to paint thewords, “Lesbia mi dicit semper male nec tacetumquam de me” (Lesbia always speaks ill of me, never shuts up about me). The repeating rhythmsreturn in the men’s voices when Catullus says he does the same, “quia sunt totidem mea: deprecor illamassidue” (…it’s the same with me: I’m continually complaining.) The piececomes to a final rest after Catullus realizes the he will always be cursed tolove her.<br> <br> Mea Lesbia (Catullus 87) also consists of twoelegiac couplets. Catullus was only one of Lesbia’s many lovers, and he oftenwrote of his jealousy and disdain for her unfaithful actions. This elegy waswritten at a time when Lesbia had been particularly cruel toward Catullus.Despite being broken hearted, his obsession with her never waned. In hisdespair and desperation, he basically says, “My love for you is so great thatno other woman could possibly even know what love is.” This setting of 87 returns to a more introspectivenature where Catullus surrenders his love forever to Lesbia.Three LatinElegies to Lesbiais a setting of three poems written by the ancient Roman poet, Gaius ValeriusCatullus (84-54 B.C.E.).
