Published by Cornelius Edition (uk) (A0.1271624). We'll Gather Lilacs, is a song by Welsh composer Ivor Novello which he wrote for the hit musical romance 'Perchance to Dream'. The stage musical opened at the Hippodrome Theatre in London's West End in 1945 and ran until 1948. This song was the most popular and enduring to emerge from the production. It was originally recorded by Muriel Barron & Olive Gilbert (1945) and has since been performed by many artists, including notably Anne Zieglerand Webster Booth, Richard Tauber, Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra (for his album Sinatra Sings Great Songs from Great Britain (1962)Written as World War II drew to its close, the song describes the yearning of parted couples to be reunited. It evokes the joy they would feel when together once again, and the pleasures of the English countryside in spring with its lilac blossom. It is arranged here for SATB with piano accompaniment.  Orchestral parts and a full score are also available for purchase.

You’re the Voice is a powerful protest song written by Andy Qunta, Keith Reid, Chris Thompson and Maggie Ryder, and recorded by the very popular Australian singer John Farnham for his album Whispering Jack in 1986.The song was one of the biggest hits of 1986 in Australia, topping the singles chart for seven weeks. In 1987 it was awarded the ARIA Award for Single of the Year. It takes the form of a 7-verse Epiphany carol, with introduction and coda, setting a poem by Laurie Twinam. Verse 1 gives the option for a single solo voice. Otherwise vocal lines, for SATB choir, retain the folk tune contour throughout, with fairly simple harmonies and a canon. Around this, the piano accompaniment weaves a set of characterful variations, as a commentary on each differing verse, which is always linked by a 2-bar 'turnaround'. The work explores aspects of both major and minor tonality, as well as modality (with the characteristic flattened seventh), thus working within and around the given folk idiom. This piece is appropriate for virtually any standard and size of SATB choir, including school, student, community, church and cathedral choirs. The accompaniment can be on piano, or for organ if slightly adapted by the player.
