Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 5 - SKU: A0.1143904 Composed by Igor Korneitchouk. 20th Century,A Cappella,Contemporary,Religious. Octavo. 37 pages. Studio at the Post #744209. Published by Studio at the Post (A0.1143904). Duration: 16 minutes, 33 pp. Description: Exodus is a great story that belongs to everyone. Not only is it central to Judaism, not only is it integral to the Christian Bible, it is an immortal story that has been, and continues to be, an inspiration to oppressed peoples everywhere on this planet. It is relevant not just as ancient scripture but as living text, to be rediscovered by each new generation of an ever-widening Family of Man. The theme of struggle against oppression and slavery was just as relevant to the early Christians persecuted in Ancient Rome as it was relevant to the American Civil Rights movement of the 1960's, just as relevant to the Soviet Jews wishing to emigrate as it is to the South African Blacks resisting Apartheid. From the Dark Ages and the Spanish Inquisition, to Ghandi's emancipation of India, to the Holocaust, to, full-circle, the ongoing struggles in Palestine today, the story of Exodus is a guiding light in a dim and often grim world. According to the composer: The Story of a Leader is a collection of ‘re-chorales’ I created one summer when I was totally immersed in a post-educational obsession with the 371 Chorales by Johann Sebastian Bach. We used to study these to learn the rules of harmony and voice-leading (no parallel fifths, avoid crossed voices, etc.) at the Cleveland Institute of Music where I began my compositional career. That summer, now a professor of music in my own right, I discovered many broken and bent rules by the master himself and, along with the glory of being able to work through these Chorales myself at the piano, I felt an incredible feeling of liberation and possibilities unmediated by instructors of music theory. I began by stripping away all that Bach wrote, leaving only the hymn tunes which were not his to begin with. These tunes existed long before Bach used them for his tonal experiments, some attributed to Martin Luther, or someone else, others simply listed as ‘anonymous’. The same is true for the texts, which were then translated into English mostly in the 19th century (the provenance of each can be found herein on the first page of each of my reharmonizations). In some cases I modified the text to fit the context. I selected 12 of these ‘re-chorales,’ linking them together based on their texts in a kind of logic that worked for me, and created a narrative that told The Story of a Leader (Moses). This story is highlighted in the music with such techniques as cross-modal harmonies, points of imitation, a beer drinking song in one instance, and in another, to symbolize the parting of the seas for Moses’ people, an inversion of the soprano line in the bass..

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - SKU: A0.976711 Composed by Isaac Watts / Lowell Mason. Arranged by Robert Myers. Christian,Easter,Sacred. Octavo. 31 pages. WheatMyer Music #4775085. Published by WheatMyer Music (A0.976711). When I Survey the Wondrous Cross, written by the Father of English Hymnody, Isaac Watts, in 1707 and later matched with Lowell Mason’s 1824 tune, HAMBURG, has long stood at the forefront of English hymnody. This arrangement, taken from my Passion Week cantata, Wounded, Bleeding, Still Proceeding, allows the full talent-spectrum of the Body of Christ to contemplate His sacrifice and offer their devotion. The first two stanzas feature an alto/soprano duet, set in a minor key with frequent diminished and augmented chords to reflect the despair and loss of a witness to the crucifixion. The entire third stanza, set for SATB chorus, never really moves off the F minor tonic until the end. That, and the relentless pounding of the bass line, ponders the witnesses anguish and our vicarious experience of it through Scripture. So, sing these stanzas sadly – they are sad! When the choir enters, be sure to observe the swelling crescendos/diminuendos as the sorrow and love mingle together. The fourth stanza offers optional congregational participation and may be used to provide a responsorial to the Word of God or a preparation for the Table. The choir sings this stanza in four part harmony as the congregation joins on the melody. It stays in a major key and closely follows the traditional consonances used in Lowell Mason’s harmonization; thus, the choral parts will feel familiar and the congregational melody will flow naturally. Take the text literally (Love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all.) and sing it firmly, enthusiastically, passionately, but never triumphantly. Sing it as a song of personal devotion to commit all that you have, all that you are, and all that you will ever be, to the one who humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross (Phil 2:8b) so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Cor 5:21)The music is well within the grasp of any ensemble competent with traditional SATB anthems. The piano/organ accompaniments are straightforward yet very colorful. When I Survey the Wondrous Cross is an unapologetic Christian worship anthem suitable for sacred services, yet does not compromise on artistic expression. The parts provided in this version include a full score, a piano-vocal octavo (which may be performed alone), and organ and timpani/percussion parts. Neither organ or timpani are required but adding either or both provides a deep and rich experience. Parts for reduced orchestra (strings and single winds) are available separately.

Choral Choir (SATB) - SKU: A0.835786 Composed by Paul Burnell. Contemporary. Octavo. 124 pages. Paul Burnell #3405305. Published by Paul Burnell (A0.835786). Composed 2007, duration 8:30 approx. The music and text of ‘The Sense of a Place Will Remain’ was inspired by pictures of an early carved stone cross and a tenth-century Viking burial stone on the island of Inchcolm in Scotland. First performed by Inchcolm New Music Ensemble 29 June 2007, conductor Steve King. Instrumentation is flexible; the following is a guide: Part 1 - Violin 1, flute 1 (doubling piccolo if possible) oboe 1, Part 2 - Violin 2, flute 2, oboe 2 (doubling tenor recorder if possible), clarinet 1, trumpet Part 3 - Viola, clarinet 2, horn in F, Eb horn (2 players doubling harmonicas in C) Part 4 - Cello, bassoon Part 5 - Double bass, bass guitar (or Cello 2 - playing as if usual bass clef, but an octave lower where possible) SATB voices (doubling metal spoons and pitch pipes) Optional:Percussion (one player) - claves, glockenspiel (could be a child’s toy instrument such as an ‘Angel’ glockenspiel), mark tree, spring drum (thunder shaker), frame drum, musical jewelry box (or similar clockwork device).Should a glockenspiel not be available, a special part has been created which arranges the glockenspiel for two flutes, together with the other percussion music. This special part is not visible in the score. Keyboard instrument with sustaining capability - piano sound Instructions: Wind players can breathe ad lib. during any very long notes. From letter D onwards non-wind players who are not soloists blow across the top of small bottles. The pitches produced are not specified, but they should not be shrill. A soft breathy tone is preferred. About half of the voices play pairs of metal spoons (share printed part between two singers and anyone not holding the music holds metal spoons). Hold the spoons one in each hand, and strike the larger ends together. Spoons are struck together where shown with a large patterned note head. Strike rapidly where a tremolo sign is given. Four singers play pitch tuning pipes: 1 Soprano and 1 Alto play viola/cello pitch tuning pipes, 1 Tenor and 1 Bass play violin pitch tuning pipes Pitch pipe playing is indicated with square note heads - player should breathe ad lib. during very long notes. Where there are very long sung notes, the singers may stagger breathing ad lib. Spoken sounds are indicated with x note heads and with the text in italics. There are many pauses. These can be of varying duration, but on the whole they should not hold up the momentum of the piece, but be of sufficient duration to establish the solo and pitch pipe notes. Text: Carve stone Strike out Stay at home Or go far alone. Blocks of stone are laid Emblazoned with the signs of great deeds That signify our memory, Mem’ries of who we are. Careful carvings erode through time, Chiseled grooves smooth away. Families, they scatter and fade As generations age Descendants pass on memory time. Sense of our allegiance shifts when major faults are found, Feelings of belonging fall on shaky ground, But the sense of a place will remain.

Pace #798494. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1199426). Poignant, sacred choral music. The text is in reference to the sacrifices of the pioneers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Music by Kevin G. Pace.  Text by Mark R. Fotheringham. Dedicated to the Willie and Martin handcart companies. Text: Into the wind, we suffer the more. To Zion we march, or to heaven's door. We stumble and fall; angels attend To help us rise up and march on again. No never alone, for God is our guide. We know inside.Tattered and torn, our shoes all in shreds. In sage or in snow, we lay down our heads. We dig shallow graves, bury our dead, Then wake the next morn and onward we tred. Through trial and pain, we hold to the rod, And thus know God.All that we have in one little cart, Together we push; we each do our part. And somehow our hearts, knit by our chores, Are strengthened to know we'll see temple doors. These rags will be white, for joy is in store Forevermore.

Published by Andrew Schneider (A0.930752). This is a choral anthem setting of Psalm 117 designed for either church or concert use. In its effortless use of various elements of Baroque practice, I have written a piece which will hopefully be useful for high schools and community colleges with smaller choirs to get students to sing works which can prep them for repertoire. Churches will also find this a work appropriate for any festive occasion and also useful in telling people that composers actually exist today who like the bygone way of doing things. And also with a rather exciting piano part! I certainly enjoy raising the bar.To that end, the A section can be sung on its own as a separate piece, as it is deliberately easier than the B section, which has more chromatic and polyphonic passages. This is the perfect piece to convey to high school students the impression that Baroque music can be exciting, spontaneous, and not old-fashioned, and in a matter which will be immediately perceived to be authentic. The ad libitum trumpet parts are available directly from the composer. Though they are not strictly necessary for a successful performance, they do give a special spice and festive aura that can only be beneficial.

Christian Music Ministries #6135917. Published by Christian Music Ministries (A0.927456). Rock - a worship musical.Full piano score with SATB choir, solo parts and narration.Starting in Caesarea, Peter's story unfolds in flashback. From fishing, his 3 years on the road alongside Jesus and the disciples, his triumphs and failures. Jesus calls Peter 'the Rock' - but we see that only in Christ, and filled with His Spirit, is Peter on solid ground.Synopsis Traditional words introduce the theme of the Musical: Jesus is our ROCK OF AGES, but the story starts IN CAESAREA BESIDE THE SEA. Here, centurion Cornelius declares I’ve had a vision - but who can explain it, who can help? Cornelius’ household tell of Simon Peter, a disciple of Jesus, and we are taken back to Galilee when Peter, a fisherman, WORKING IN THE FAMILY BUSINESS, hears Jesus’ call to leave your nets and leave your boats. He responds I WILL FOLLOW YOU. For three years Peter follows Jesus, and when challenged declares YOU ARE MESSIAH, the Son of the living God! Jesus replies On this rock I will build my church, then, ominously, points towards Jerusalem. He and his followers eventually arrive in the city at Passover, and during the meal they wonder IN THIS BREAD, IN THIS WINE, is there love for me? At first reluctant, Peter allows Jesus to wash his feet. Events turn against Jesus; he is arrested, and Peter is afraid. The taunt SURELY YOU MUST HAVE BEEN WITH HIM sees Peter denying he ever knew Jesus. Then their eyes meet across the courtyard, and Peter is devastated by his own failure. But even at such an awful time as this, THE LOOK OF LOVE contains acceptance and hope. WERE YOU THERE WHEN THEY CRUCIFIED MY LORD? Peter wasn’t - he was in hiding along with many of the disciples. But after the resurrection, Jesus greets Peter and the others in Galilee: THIS IS THE PLACE – I am the Lord who comes to meet you here. Jesus asks: SIMON PETER, DO YOU LOVE ME? After being asked three times Peter reaches reality: Lord, you know everything … you know how much I love you! and receives the commission Feed my sheep. Peter and the disciples return to Jerusalem, and wait for the promised Holy Spirit. At Pentecost the Spirit comes, and as A CHOSEN PEOPLE, the followers of Jesus receive his power. Peter preaches, and thousands believe and respond JUST AS I AM … O Lamb of God I come. The Church is born and in the power of the Spirit begin WORKING IN THE FATHER’S BUSINESS, doing the things that Jesus did! Peter eventually arrives IN CAESAREA BESIDE THE SEA. He shares his vision with Cornelius and his household, and declares God has no favourites … you can be saved too … if you believe in Jesus. They believe, receive the power of the Spirit, and Gentiles also become members of the Chosen People, called out of darkness into wonderful light! Peter’s vision is fulfilled – the Gospel is for all who believe in Jesus. Peter declares HE IS THE STONE that the builders rejected … on Jesus the ROCK I will build my life! .

Snowball.Text:In the Garden Jesus knelt before His Father’s face. Then He pled: “Remove this cup,†in that most hallowed place.“But if not, I will submit; thy sole desire be done.â€Then He prayed more earnestly, for agony had come.In the Garden Jesus bled; He bled from every pore.Falling to the ground He took all sin and so much more.Trembling with a grievous soul, He faced this test alone.Yet there was the surest grace with each afflicting groan. In the Garden Jesus wept with tears to show his love,Love for all humanity, and Father up above.Willingly He suffered there to free us from the same.Weeping in Gethsemane, He saved us from our pain.In the Garden Jesus gave so all the world would knowHe is God’s beloved Son, the One to whom we owe.As we kneel in gratitude, our tears mix with His own.In the Garden Jesus saved; we’ll never be alone!

Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred,Spiritual. 8 pages. Brooke Griffin Carpenter #961065. Published by Brooke Griffin Carpenter (A0.1376536). I wrote this song to describe my feelings about the atonement of Jesus Christ. It's a conversation with the Savior about His role in my life and my desire to follow Him. It was greatly inspired by the October 2012 General Conference address The First Great Commandment by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland. Elder Holland states: My beloved brothers and sisters, I am not certain just what our experience will be on Judgment Day, but I will be very surprised if, at some point in that conversation, God does not ask us exactly what Christ asked Peter: 'Did you love me?' I think He will want to know if in our very mortal, very inadequate, and sometimes childish grasp of things, did we at least understand one commandment, the first and greatest commandment of them all—'Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind' (Luke 10:27; see also Matthew 22:37–38). And if at such a moment we can stammer out, 'Yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee,' then He may remind us that the crowning characteristic of love is always loyalty. This song is a testament of the words I want to say when that day comes for me.*Please note that this is the choral version of this composition.

Christian,Lent,Religious,Sacred. 11 pages. Artist of Note, Inc. #1066874. Published by Artist of Note, Inc. (A0.1490010). Whiter Than the Snow/Eden Reeder Latta - Henry Southwick Perkins BLESSED BE THE FOUNTAIN arr. Ken Litton (ASCAP)As an SBC music missionary active in Brazil I quickly discovered the hymns missionaries had taken with them as the work gained impetus from the 1890s when the Bagbys arrived to build on the foundation laid by early pioneers like Solomon Ginsburg. I found myself leading those hymns from the nearly 100 year old Cantor Cristão (Christian Singer) in the strongly attended evening services at the Igreja Batista Rio Doce (Sweet River Baptist Church) in Recife, with people literally leaning in through the windows from outside to sing along. Just a normal p.m. attendance or... curiosity about the missionary leading? No, certainly it was the message of the gospel in these great hymns and in the Brazilians’ creative work as well. I mainly remember holding that small print hymnal in one hand and leading with the other (shaking badly) and singing in Portuguese! From that kind of congregational participation I vividly remember the hymn Blessed be the Fountain by Eden Reeder Latta (1839 - 1915) and Henry Southwick Perkins (1833 -1914) with it’s energetic dotted eighth and sixteenth rhythm figures and text of confession based on Zechariah 13:1. That text was very important in the lives of disciples in Brazil and in my own heart. Here I have used only the verses of the text and tune, simply smoothing out the rhythm and adjusting the lyric to more modern usage (yet preserving the devotional pronouns Thee, Thy and Thine). The tune BLESSED BE THE FOUNTAIN is altered in rhythm, tempo and one descending interval from the original. The arrangement is by me, having built the intro, interlude and key change as well as the ending from the material that constituted the refrain in the origina. As a bridge and additional textual/musical impulse into the key change and final verse I’ve interpolated the refrain from the well-known gospel hymn Whiter than Snow (FISCHER) by James Nicholson and William G. Fischer. The voices include a wide variety of unison, two-part and four-part passages that are well within the capability of the average church choir. The accompaniment difficulty level is about as minimal as it can be I hope, while still reflecting support for the voices, a measure of variety as well as some real independence.I certainly think choirs of some ability and their dedicated accompanists will enjoyWhiter Than the Snow as much as I have in developing it.

PROGRAM NOTES As of the present writing, this choral tone poem had been gestating for over thirty years, and the concept and harmonies for it for over forty years. In the 1980s I began to work with the latter two in my brief orchestral piece Little Sea Nocturne. When reading the poetry of Edgar Allan Poe (1809–1849), I am most struck by how musical they are. When recited aloud they exhibit their own rhythmic sense. I was eager to incorporate those rhythms into my music. I had long been familiar with his poem The City In the Sea and began to sketch choral passages for the present choral tone poem in the 1990s. It took me until 2022 to complete it because I required many more years of experience at my craft to do so to lead into out of the choruses. In 2012 I completed a seven-minute unaccompanied version of the choruses with music unique to and unifying it simply called The City In the Sea. In composing The City In the Sea - Choral Tone Poem, my goal was to write a piece that, while steeped in tradition, sounds unlike anything in the literature that had come before it. The result is an original hybrid work that successfully and memorably combines salient aspects of the tonal, atonal, and modal musical languages into an organic whole. George Perle coined the term “twelve-tone tonality†to describe the music of Alban Berg and composers influenced by him such as Luigi Dallapiccola. The last title of which I am aware that accomplishes anything remotely related to what I am trying to accomplish musically in this choral tone poem is the piece Paradiso Choruses by Donald Martino (1974). However, I take twelve-tone tonality in entirely other directions in my work. That the duration of The City In the Sea - Choral Tone Poem came out to be thirteen minutes seems appropriate for piece about a sunken city. Rather than write program notes that narrate how the music unfolds I will simply shout out the most memorable aspects of what careful listeners will discern: a recurring heartbeat motif; shifting polychordal harmonies; echo technique; rhythmic diminutions and augmentations; an a cappella chorus featuring those harmonies with a surprisingly memorable recuring theme on top; sensuous flute duets; string section underpinnings by way of either sustained passages or wave-like gestures; tritone-related melodies, harmonies, and tone centers; several strategically placed grand pauses; tritone-related modal-sounding passages; melodic and chord clusters, especially the two climactic ones. INSTRUMENTATION 2 Flutes (2. doubles on Piccolo) 2 Oboes (2. doubles on English Horn) 2 Bb Clarinets 2 Bassoons 2 F Horns 2 C Trumpets 2 Trombones Tuba Timpani Percussion (Gong, Bass Drum, Chimes, Glockenspiel) Harp Strings DURATION 13:00 Stanley M. Published by DF McCorkle Music and eBook Publications (A0.784836). ACT 2: Song 10. The King, by Dennis McCorkle, is a contemporary pop-rock musical of the first two kings of Israel, Saul ben Kish and David ben Jesse and explores the contrasting lives and outcome of each man’s choices in life. [2 Samuel 12:24 - And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her; and she bore a son, and called his name Solomon. And Yahweh loved him;] [1 Kings 2:1-4 - Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying: 2 I go the way of all the earth; be thou strong therefore, and show thyself a man; 3 and keep the charge of Yahweh your God, to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, and His commandments, and His ordinances, and His testimonies, according to that which is written in the law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do, and whithersoever you turn yourself; 4 that Yahweh establish His word which He spoke concerning me, saying: ‘If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee, said He, a man on the throne of Israel.’] BATHSHEBA becomes pregnant again and DAVID a son, SOLOMON is born to them [The Kingdom has a New Son – Elders]. I began playing it unattached to any tune and I just liked the way the line descended in the left hand and how I had to find voicings in the right hand that made harmonic sense – like a puzzle. As I was playing around with this puzzle, thoughts of my father were swirling around in my head – I was at the end of a 4 year period of separation from my parents owing to the fact that I’m a Canadian expat living in the US and the borders were closed for a long time because of Covid, and then I had work visa issues and my parents were getting older before my eyes. They were also losing friends to cancer and other ailments and my dad, in particular, had experienced the loss of many close family members and friends during our separation and it was taking a toll. One day I sat down and played the now familiar-to-me ostinato but randomly I started to sing “Beyond the Sea†over it and it fit perfectly. I thought it a happy coincidence. As the days went on I committed to putting my ostinato with Beyond the Sea and the lyrics started to seep into my brain. I have, of course, heard these lyrics many times before, (who hasn’t seen Finding Nemo?) but the lyrics didn’t mean what I thought they meant… They’re NOT about the ocean, they are about my dad!!! Well, kind of… I realized, through careful reflection and by slowing the words down, that the lyrics are talking about a person in heaven who is patiently waiting for their partner to join them. Somewhere beyond the seaShe’s there watching for me…It’s far beyond the starsIt’s near beyond the moon And the lyrics end with them meeting, “We’ll meet beyond the shore, we’ll kiss just like before,†and the song ends with: “and never again I’ll go sailing.†It’s like the big bang went off in my head about why all these thoughts of my dad, and his friends, and this arrangement, and what it all meant suddenly just MADE SENSE and I was able to start formulating a plan. Performance Suggestions: The improvisation solo in the middle should be free of any traditional “scat syllables†and should be more of a lament. Listen to singers like Aubrey Johnson improvise on ballads for inspiration. An idea for that improv section might be to have a male singer start the improv, then a female singer joins (as if together in heaven) then they sing letter F together (warning: will cause tears…). All solo sections do not have to be sung as written – soloists can take liberties with the melody as the spirit moves.

Anthem of the “All nations will be perished, and the world must uniteâ€Â Colorful Number One Scholar October 3, 2023 The world was originally no any nations. The land was plundered and divided into territories.Colonize first after occupying a frontier; If you had formed a country, you must raise an army.Warfare is a deadly killing weapon,The saints use it when there are no other satisfied ways.Today's world is in ruins. The United States, China, Russia, and European Union compete. Each of them wants to dominate the world. They don't want to be cooperative diligently; They use the dirty tricks instead; They use every possible means for cunning. When the saint raises only one foot high,While the devil has already jumped ten feet tall. They are blind at what the Doomsday is coming,They still love to rob and snatch. They would like to die together; You die and I die, too. What a shame. The human body contains cells. All cells have membranes. With membranes they know how to be selfish.Selfish genes have played an important role in evolution.Love yourself and your country is only a low level of selfishness; Sacrifices oneself and destroys countries are the high level of selfishness: The world must be for the global public welfare. It is really a kind of selfish seeking benefit only for human beings. Looking at the world today, Among Emperors, Empresses, Presidents and Chairmen,No one is worthy of become a future world leader. They only know how to love themselvesAnd their countries’ benefits in a naive way; They dislike to destroy all the countries,They don’t practice the rule for world population’s commonwealth, Knowing not the brilliance patriotism in the past Has becoming the hurdles on the road to globalization. How sad, how sad!Preparing to establish the “World Leadership Education Instituteâ€. Pace (A0.701458). An original hymn about pioneer women. See the text by Kathryn Hales below.YouTube video: https://youtu.be/fHirSHGBR0M The women walked alongside the wagons, The burden on oxen to spare, Wrapped in a shawl or a blanket, Their feet often calloused and bare. They met at the quarter-master’s wagon, Their own scant rations to receive, Then with culinary skills prepared A meal, a family’s hunger to relieve. Their prayers arose like incense From the campfires’ spark-filled glow, That the God they believed in from Heaven Would bless their loved ones below. Left alone to drive the wagons When military duty was the demand, Courageous pioneer women Obeyed the prophet’s commands. Some lived to complete their journey; Some died by the trail on the way, Yet the trials or hardships encountered, Their faith in God did not sway. Whether over the rivers or mountains They trudged onward each day, Till they arrived in The Valley, And prayed for more courage to stay. Praise be to such pioneer women, Who with courage did their part, For the building up of a holy people, With Zion a goal of their hearts. Valiant men have always needed Virtuous women by their sides, So both can progress together And in God’s eternal home abide.

Our Mother Eve was first to see That they must fall that man may be, Then gave to Adam to partake, Convinced him it was no mistake. Take courage as our mother Eve, When faced with fear, instead believe. 2. Our mother Eve was first to hope, That she, united, then could cope, Outside their garden paradise, That heaven’s gifts would then suffice, Take courage as our mother Eve, When faced with want, then still believe. 3. Our mother Eve was first to weep, For her stray child who did not keep, All God’s commands, but turned away, One son she lost, one went astray. Take courage as our mother Eve, When faced with grief, be still, believe. 4. Our mother Eve was first on Earth, God’s daughter of a royal birth, First mother of the human race, A vessel of God’s holy grace. Take courage as our mother Eve, All through your life, stand firm, believe.

Choral Choir (Mixed) - SKU: A0.835784 Composed by Paul Burnell. Contemporary. Octavo. 2 pages. Paul Burnell #3396247. Published by Paul Burnell (A0.835784). For voices and instruments. The words adapted from the poem by Robert Herrick (1591 - 1674)Duration 3:00 The piece can be performed in several ways - possible options are: The 1st verse/refrain is solo voices (perhaps one voice, or one section). Men would sing an octave lower. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th verses/refrains are accompanied by an increasingly layered drone. The drone could be a mix of organ and/or instruments and voices. The voices sing the drone to ‘ay’ and will need to stagger their breaths. By the 4th verse the drone is in three lines - and perhaps is in organ or instruments alone because voices are all singing the melody line. The ascending chromatic line could be doubled an octave lower. Each line of the drone begins at the end of the previous refrain. At each verse more singers join the melody line. The melody may be played by organ/instruments as well. The 4th refrain is the loudest. The 5th verse is sung without the drone. It might be effective for this to be performed with a gradual diminuendo, or for singers to drop out one by one.

Pace #806402. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1208296). A stunningly beautiful, sacred composition for SATB choir.  Music by Kevin G. Pace and text by Mary Ann W. Snowball.  Depicting the miracle of Jesus curing the man by the Pool of Bethesda.Text:By Bethesda’s special pool, each day they did wait.Blind and halt and withered there, each to not be late.By the pool the crippled lay; healing was the goal.Ere an angel’s touch was stirred, not one would be whole.Years and years a man stayed near, but with none to aid. Then the Savior came, unknown, to surround and stay.Wilt thou be made whole? was asked by the Healer there.I can’t reach the pool myself. These pains I must bear.Wilt thou be made whole? I can ease thy load. Can I heal thy sun-parched soul? May I make thee whole?Rise, and take thy bed and walk. These words Jesus spoke.Soon the man was cleansed and healed, as if he awoke.Had full faith been shown that day from this aged man?Can we also trust our Lord? Will we take his hand?By our own Bethesda pools in a sacred space,He can clearly mend our cares through (by) his wondrous grace. We can also rise like him o’er our doubts and fearsAs we linger, patiently, listening to hear.We can be made whole when his hand we hold.He can heal our holy souls; He will make us whole.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - SKU: A0.926661 Composed by Michael A. Morizio. Christian,Sacred. Octavo. 15 pages. M.A. Morizio #3588399. Published by M.A. Morizio (A0.926661). In the first chapter of Paul’s letter to the Colossians, we discover the next known Hymn to Christ right after his introductory passages, beginning at the 15th verse. Paul opens this letter with a blessing, then immediately flows to one of the 1st century hymns, which I have called, The Icon of the Invisible God. The lyrics of this hymn are declarative, bold and illuminating as to whom the Christ figure is-the icon, the very image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. The text makes it abundantly clear that Jesus is the authority; that He was there before all things, that He created all things, and that through Him all things hold together. This anthem is composed for SATB choir with Pipe Organ accompaniment. The meter is set to 6/8 time, with a rhythm tempo of Totally Alive; which is one actual definition of the word Holy. The anthem starts at a good clip (♪=100). The key is G Major, with an incidental and occasional flatted 5th (Dâ™) as a surprise-landing befitting to the text presented, as if to say, This is so amazing, how can it be? The flatted 5th gives the piece it's own identity and causes the listener to stand up and take notice whenever it occurs. When the hymn's lyrics glide into the all-important resolution, having made peace through the blood of the cross, the song retards and lands on a surprising musical cadence, the sixth chord (E Major). In this piece, the pipe organ is boldly featured as it supports and under girds the musical line, occasionally trumpeting its own victorious motifs and adding some contrapuntal elements, such as this duplet motif, in the pedal line. The final lyrics about Christ having reconciled everything to Himself, whether things on the earth or in the heavens, finish the piece with a great, ‘High-Church’ choral ending.
