Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.CBW2210). 6.75 x 10.5 inches.Some years back, during a series of retreats, prayerful reflection on the “servantpassages from the book of the prophet Isaiah (Is. 40-53) coalesced into what wouldbecome an eight-movement cantata entitled: The Servant of Yahweh.“How Beautiful on the Mountain represents movement three of that larger work - aLenten cantata highlighting key aspects of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus,viewed through the lens of the aforementioned servant passages.“How Beautiful on the Mountain (from Is.52 ff) attempts to capture in two sections thejoyful vision of God's people being led back to Zion from exile in Babylon. Israel'sdeliverer is near, proclaiming peace, bearing good news, announcing salvation, leadingIsrael back to Jerusalem. The New Testament likewise speaks of deliverance frombondage – bondage from sin, and healing of the breach between God and humanity. It isthrough the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus that this deliverance isaccomplished. In both cases, there is cause for great joy.Musically, movement from the more subdued preface (part 1) to the festive Latin groove(part 2) conveys the transition from journey to jubilation.The present rendition, written for SATB choir and piano with optional flute and oboemarks the latest evolution in the work's arrangement history. The originalaccompaniment included guitar, bass, drum, flute and electric violin. However, in 2009,through a collaboration with bassist/arranger, Perry Orfanella, a full orchestral score wasdeveloped. Most recently, in order to make the piece more accessible to church choirsand other choral groups, Phil Sims (musician/arranger and partner of Imagine MusicPublishing) reduced the orchestral score and completed the present arrangement forpiano and SATB choir.

Published by Marco Borsoi (A0.904850). True Colors, usually attributed to Cyndi Lauper, was actually written by Billy Steinberg, who initially conceived it as a ballad to devote to his mother. Tom Kelly advised him to change the first stanza, to make the song more salable in the international music scene, and together they proposed their song to the American singer Cyndi Lauper, who agreed to interpret it, provided that he could completely modify the arrangement. The original score was in fact in the form of a gospel ballad with accompaniment to the piano.A too traditional choice for Cyndi, who submitted her new version to Billy and Tom, getting their enthusiastic consent. Thus, in 1986, it was born True Colors, one of the most important songs of the pop artist. This single force on the text and trust that convey the words, so much to be interpreted by various international artists such as Phil Collins and Lily Juniper.-----------True Colors, solitamente attribuita a Cyndi Lauper, è stata scritta in realtà da Billy Steinberg, che la concepì inizialmente come una ballata da dedicare a sua madre. Tom Kelly gli consigliò di modificare la prima strofa, per rendere il brano più vendibile nel panorama musicale internazionale e insieme proposero la loro canzone alla cantante statunitense Cyndi Lauper, che accettò di interpretarla, a patto che ne potesse modificare del tutto l’arrangiamento. Lo spartito originale si presentava infatti in forma di ballata gospel con accompagnamento al pianoforte.Una scelta troppo tradizionale per Cyndi, la quale sottopose a Billy e Tom la sua nuova versione, ottenendo il loro consenso entusiasta. Il pezzo è contenuto nell'album Strano il mio destino (Live & studio 95/96). Autori del brano sono Giorgia e Maurizio Fabrizio. Questa armonizzazione originale per coro misto SATB e pianoforte, esalta ancor più le caratteristiche melodiche e armoniche del brano, rendendolo ancora più unico e magico. Il brano parla di una donna che riflette su una storia passata. Una storia che lei stessa ha voluto o dovuto chiudere, ma non certo senza rimpianti; Che donna sarò, se non sei con me e se ti amerò ancora e di più …. E pensa: Strano il mio destino che mi porta qui … ; un destino che la costringe, per qualche motivo, a riflettere sul suo passato, riportandola al momento in cui ha deciso di andarsene via in silenzio. Un destino che, ancora oggi, la sorprende a ripensare a quell’amore ma senza indicarle una nuova strada dove poter andare, perché, anche se tutto quell’amore, io l’ho spazzato via…, fa male non pensare a te. Nel ritornello, emerge una speranza (sottolineata dall’apertura della melodia): Io non ti perderò, oltre il tempo e le distanze andrò…; speranza che viene confermata nell’ultima strofa: È chiaro il mio destino … io ti raggiungerò, quando la ragazza capisce anche che non tutto dipende da lei: proverò a gridare e forse sentirai, la mia voce che ti chiama, se vuoi.. E la speranza, divenuta certezza, ritorna con la ripetizione, enfatizzata dallo slancio melodico, della frase conclusiva … per non lasciati più. --------------- Strano il mio Destino is a piece of music by the Italian singer-songwriter Giorgia, 3rd at the Sanremo Festival 1996. The piece is on the album Strano il mio destino (Live & studio 95/96). Authors of the song are Giorgia and Maurizio Fabrizio.This original harmonization for mixed SATB choir and piano, enhances even more the melodic and harmonic characteristics of the piece, making it even more unique and magical. The song is about a woman who reflects on a past story. A story that she herself wanted or had to close, but certainly not without regrets; What a woman I will be, if you are not with me and if I will love you more and more.... And she thinks: Strange is my fate, that brings me here…; a fate that compels her, for some reason, to reflect on her past, bringing her back to the moment in which she decided to leave away in silence. A destiny that, even today, surprises her to rethink about that love but without indicating a new way to go, because, even if all that love, I have swept it away ..., it hurts not to think about you. In the refrain, a hope emerges (underlined by the opening of the melody): I will not lose you, beyond time and distance I will go ...; hope that is confirmed in the last stanza: It is clear my destiny ... I will reach you, when the girl also understands that not everything depends on her: I will try to shout and maybe you will hear, my voice calling you, if you want . And hope, become certainty, returns with the repetition, emphasized by the melodic impetus, of the concluding sentence ... not to leave you, anymore.
